One of my first jobs in the movie business was a runner for a trailer company that was working on Little Nicky in 1999. I had to drive tapes to Sony Pictures of edits of the trailer. I'm from Boston and was wearing a Boston Bruins hat, and when I delivered the tapes to the office, it was Adam Sandler and his crew, just hanging out. If you've seen Happy Gilmore, you know that Sandler is a big Boston Bruins fan from his jersey, and he started talking to me about the Bruins and their upcoming season. It was one of my most surreal first experiences of the movie industry. I'll always remember it.
Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore double-handedly made Adam Sandler a superstar. I’m not saying they are his best movies. But everyone loved this in the mid 90’s.
The stretch from '95 thru '99 was where I think Adam defined who he was as an actor. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Wedding Singer, Waterboy & Big Daddy. He made a few that were decent after that, but I think this particular window of five years were his best.
The woman who played Veronica, Bridgette Wilson, really had a tight schedule when it came to her availability for filming this. Immediately after filming her last scene for this, she had to rush out and start work on "Mortal Kombat", in which she portrayed Sonya Blade.
"Mr. Madison. What you’ve just said.....is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. Airheads was his 4th movie, without counting his recurring role on Cosby Show, an After School Special, and a few other TV appearances. He did Airheads near the end of his 5-year run on SNL.
This was his first film he made while he was still with the SNL cast. Great cast too by the way. Farley, Sandler, Spade, Rob Schneider and Kevin Nelon. Dont forget Norm MacDonald too!

Hi Ms. Amber and Mr. Jay Rob Squad Movie Reactions, This is One Of My Favorite Adam Sandler Movies. This Always Makes Me Laugh Out Loud with Crying Into Tears. The 5th Grade Teacher's Billy Madison Girlfriend is Sonya Blade from the Original Mortal Kombat 1995. I forgot that the Bus Rider is Actor Chris Farley from Tommy Boy.
Hey you two, nice reaction. This was three years before Waterboy. Oh hey Sonya Blade. Happy Gilmore (1996) is my favorite Adam Sandler film. His comedy is quite funny at times. He was in Bulletproof (1996) with Damon Wayans and James Caan. The Waterboy and The Wedding Singer were pretty iconic. I watched his Punch-Drunk Love in a film class and it was different from his usual hilarious antics. A Christmas one would be his Eight Crazy Nights.
Nothing to do with Adam Sandler, but the great actress Gena Rowlands passed away yesterday. Maybe view a movie in tribute for her. Gloria is a movie about a former mob gun moll who goes against the mob to save a young boy who's family was killed by her former pals. Great film.
