the line I quote most from this film;
"I'm _kicking_ my _ass,_ _DO YOU MIND?!"_
Me too 😂😂😂😂
The horror of putting your head against a public toilet. YUCK.
@@treetopjones737
And this time put some STINK on it!!!
😂😂😂😂
The “I’m a bad father” hits so hard. It really shows Jim’s acting range it’s so good.
Yes exactly! I’m so sick of ignorant people saying that he always plays himself or that he always plays the same character… it’s just not true. He’s the most versatile comedian ever next to Robin Williams
@@nsasupporter7557he’s a brilliant straight actor. He’s proven it several times
@@nsasupporter7557 Following that train of thought they should check out "The Magestic". Just as with Robin some of my fav Jim Carey movies are when he takes on dramatic roles.
The 'claw thing' was something Jim's father did to him growing up, so Jim brought that father/son interaction with him to this movie.
I'm a huge Jim Carrey fan, and I did not know that. Thanks for sharing that cool factoid 👍
The Claw was a Wrestler in the 60s and 70s Known for the Claw hold, which was a submission hold. He would grab his wrist and pinch the neck/shoulder area of his opponent He wore a black leather mask so no one new who he was this is where the claw comes from, they obviously watched Wrestling
Not sure if you caught that his ex-wife's boyfriend is played by Carey Elwes, who you might remember as Westley in The Princess Bride.
Twister as well.
He was also in Saw.
And Robin Hood: Men In Tights.
CAREY Elwes is in Kiss The Girls, with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd ... A thriller detective double mystery drama yall can't miss. 36:23
The Crush❤❤❤❤❤😊
43:59
The actress that played Greta was also in "Mrs. Doubtfire" with Robin Williams
Jim is just a master at his craft. Definitely gotta check out Dumb & Dumber (1994). Him and Jeff Daniels are comedy GOLD! It will keep you smiling non-stop! 💯👍😂
please do dumb and dumber!! (just the first one - 1994)
Jay refuses to do Dumb And Dumber because he said it sounds dumb.
And also me myself and Irene is one of my fave jim movies
@@ckobo84well it kinda is… lol but in a brilliant way lol
@@ckobo84I have a friend that used to feel the same way. After he watched it, it became one of his favorite movies. 😂👍
I love that Jim's reaction to being called an "Over actor" is that he looks around all shifty-eyed and goes "Oh no, they're *ON* to me." haha.
The bloopers for this movie are the best
🤣👌
I’m not sure if Cannonball Run was the first movie to do bloopers during the credits, but it definitely popularized it.
Never seen a theater audience laugh harder than they did on opening night of this film. Couldn’t even hear a lot of the jokes bc people were still cackling from the previous one. After his darker Cable Guy (which does have its fans), people were so excited to see him return to over the top humor. Classic.
You guys would absolutely love "Bruce Almighty"! It's my favorite Jim Carrey movie. As a bonus, you get Morgan Freeman as God.
YESSSSS
Agree, Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman AND Jennifer Anniston. ❤ It’s super funny and has a very positive message. You guys will LOVE it!!
Morgan Freeman plays God even better than George Burns.
Did you notice when he described the guy who beat him up in the bathroom was 100% description of himself
He even covered his teeth when he said "bug teeth".
Big teeth, kind of gangly
That should be obvious to everyone since he can't lie.
Robin Williams was also a force of nature. There are so many lines in his movies that he ad libbed.
best outtake reel ever. "If I was a boxer, I would bounce those things like Sugar Ray Leonard." 🤣🤣🤣
My favorite from the blooper reel is when the actress playing the prosecutor calls him an 'overactor' xD
Y'all ever seen him on In Living Color?? EVERY single actor on that show did a stunning job. I remember Jim being a complete nutball on there lol
The "I've had better" line and the elevator scene are my favorite parts
Mine too!! ❤😂
And add in "STOP BREAKING THE LAW ASSHOLE!"
For some reason the blooper of the origami bird "A Goose" has lived in my head for all these years.
Carrey’s character Fire Marshall Bill makes a cameo at the end of the movie. Just after he crashes off the stairs chasing the airplane he lands in suitcases. Look in the background and you’ll see FMB. 🤯😮
Wow, now I have to look for him. Thanks.
@@erikagholston6610 did you watch the movie and see him? They didn’t edit him in on this video.
th-cam.com/video/CXzFaUh_ClQ/w-d-xo.html Holy shnikes you weren't kidding. I've loved this movie ever since I was a kid and NOT ONCE did I see that.
@@MrHartApart yeah I never did until I watched videos of things you miss in movies. It tripped me out. I also didn’t realize that was the guy from Ace Ventura at the beginning of this video on the courthouse steps. I may better go back and look for The Mask or The Grinch in the background now.
Your first time watching??? My roommate in college and I moved off campus our junior year and it was a two week wait for cable hookup. We were poor and didn’t want to rent movies for our DVD player, but we had Liar Liar, and that was it. We watched it DAILY, sometimes multiple times a day or we simply had it on in the background while we studied or cleaned. I know every damn word and so does she. We quite this movie so often, it’s ridiculous, and we’re 21 years older than we were then. Great movie!!!
15:52 no Bruce Campbell in evil dead 2 does an amazing job fighting his own hand as well.
Edward Norton vs himself in an office in Fight Club is notable 😂
Steve Martin in All of Me and Jim Carrey again in Me Myself & Irene.
thank you
Wormtail fighting his own hand in Deathly Hallows.
“I’m kicking my ass.. do you mind..?!” 😂😂
"My teacher says real beauty is on the inside"
"That's just something ugly people say"
K.O. 🤣🤣
Jerry is "As you wish" dude from the Princess Bride. So there you go!
Robin hood men in tights is my favorite - well and twister
Wesley
"I hold myself in contempt! Why should you be any different?" Kills me every time.
best line of the movie
I LOVE this movie. But I would love to add another one for y'all. The Princess Bride, it has Cary Elwes who plays Jerry in this movie. Your girls will love it!
'Yes man' has a similar premise. A man who says yes to everything. Jim doing his thing.
Love that movie too lol
The Cable Guy is an underrated Jim Carrey movie. He's hilarious and kind of creepy at the same time.
Bruce Campbell. That’s who else could do a fight with his hand. He’s a pro at it.
And Devon Sawa.
That line when Jim Carrey says "Jerry, enjoy my wife!" It makes me die laughing. What an alpha move lol
Jennifer Tilly is Tiffany from Bride of Chucky.
I liked her sister Meg better!
Loved her in moving violations. Was just talking about that movie yesterday
Oh my gosh, love that movie lol @andreadeamon6419
And Seed Of Chucky. And Cult Of Chucky. And the Chucky tv series. And the voice of Bonnie Swanson on Family Guy. And a regular on the celebrity poker circuit.
Bound ❤❤❤❤❤
"I've had better" one of the funnest things ever. I find myself saying it all the time. Cable Guy and Me Myself & Irene are my favorites
Swoozie Kurtz is the lawyer who calls Jim an overactor in the outtakes is a national treasure. She's a film, TV and Broadway legend. She's amazing. Just thought I'd throw that in there. I'm sure you'll see her in supporting roles again and again.
I think you would both love Legally Blonde. I personally put it up there with Mean Girls as in it’s a movie I never thought I would like but I frickin love it.
This is my favourite Jim Carrey movie. Gets me in the feels every single time.
When i had my son i made one vow..... i will not lie to him.... we dont even pretend there is a santa.... you may think im crazy but my child has no trust issues!
I was an extra during the last courtroom scene. That was a wild day! The Director had the actress playing the opposing lawyer raise an objection in the court - to Jim's overacting. Jim broke up laughing and then said: "oh, you're on to me."
"Just because my client has been ridden more than Seattle Slew..." 😂😂
Yeah Millenials won't get that one
@@yaimavol as a Millennial, I didn't get that one, even though I was a kid when this came out. I had to Google it years later. Solid joke.
"Me, Myself and Irene" is one of his most underrated movies, and at the same time, one of his best performances.
I was going to bring this up too you nailed it
"Miracle" please!!!! Best sports movie there has been, plus it is a true story. Kurt Russell is phenomenal as coach Herb Brooks. GUARANTEED you guys would like it.
Another great true sports movie is Greased Lightning, about Wendell Scott, first black NASCAR driver.
As some have pointed out, Fletcher should have objected during the playing of the audio recording, for two reasons:
1. Under California law, the tape was illegal. Both parties (Mr. and Mrs. Cole) would have been required to consent in order for it to be okay. Fletcher had a good argument for getting it thrown out.
2. If nothing else, it forces the other side to be on their toes, and Fletcher should have objected to change the "rhythm" of the moment.
the fact that court started the very next day is the most unrealistic thing.
It's almost like he was distracted by something...
It is almost like it is fiction and a comedy...
If we want to get technical about it, he *did* object while the tape was being played, haha. :)
The part where he goes around all the staff in their meeting and sticks the guys hairpiece on the wall always cracked me up. 😆
Classic Jim Carrey movie
Mitch Ryan as the boss, he was in Dark Shadows tv show decades ago.
There is another actor EVEN BETTER at having a fight with himself, like his hand has a mind of its own: Bruce Campbell, in Evil Dead 2 (which was actually a remake of Evil Dead, not a sequel) & Army of Darkness
It went beyond not lying to having zero censorship of his thoughts.
While I'm more into the 80's, Liar Liar is one of my favorite movies of all time and the funniest. "I'M KICKING MY ASS DON'T YOU MIND!!" 🤣🤣😂😂
And this time I’ll put some STINK on it!!
If you recognize Jennifer Tilly's voice, it might be from "Family Guy"; she plays Bonnie Swanson, the wife of Peter's handicapped cop friend Joe.
Bruce Campbell did an excellent seen fighting against his own hand in a movie called Evil Dead
The masterful payoff in that scene, the judge asking " unless of course, if you think you can continue..?".... 🤣🤣🤣
So glad you guys got to this one! While some of Jim Carrey's other movies are more wall-to-wall craziness, I've always thought "Liar Liar" was the perfect mix of his comedy and a heartwarming family story. And I agree with Amber: It's definitely a movie you can watch over and over again. ALSO, JAY: I know you've said you were avoiding "Dumb & Dumber" because of the title, but don't. It's another of his classics and a fan favorite for a reason. Not only will you enjoy it, you'll get a whole new load of Jim Carrey catchprases to repeat and laugh about forever afterward. Fr fr.
No they’re not “wall to wall craziness,” they’re amazing because he’s talented.
This and My Cousin Vinny - 2 of the best 90s courtroom comedies ever 😂😂😂
I just realized, the part at the end with Max making the wish. Pretty sure the implication is he definitely did wish for them to get back together, but he lied and said roller blades. He taught his kid how and when to lie, it all comes full circle.
“I HOLD MYSELF IN CONTEMPT!”
Gets me every time…..😢
Those outtakes are fantastic 😂
One of his funniest movies.
"Only Jim Carrey could play a role like this, where he's fighting his own hand, and make it believable." May I introduce you to the work of one Bruce Campbell...?
Since u haven't seen the original Evil Dead trilogy, Bruce Campbell, aka Ashe, has the face and body gestures, to pull these things off including fighting his own hand, which he does violently!!
Rob, I'm a dad. I teared up several times. You are not alone, brother. 😊
Jim Carrey: *fighting his own hand*
"Who else could do a scene like this?"
Bruce Campbell: "Allow me to introduce myself."
Love Bruce Campbell!
Jay and Amber should check out Jim Carrey in "Me,Myself,And Irene". They will really be impressed with the fight scene in that one.
Hail to the king, baby.
If you want to see another guy fight with his own hand, check out Evil Dead 2. Bruce Campbell fighting his demon posessed hand is pretty much what Carrey is riffing on here.
This movie hits you in a different way then it did for us since you're parents now.
My fav JC movie of all time!!! My fav part..."the pen is blue...the pen is blue...THE GOD DAMN PEN IS BLUE!!!!" I die EVERYTIME I watch that part...it never gets old for me...LMAO
She’s the voice of the doll on “Child’s Play: Chucky’s Bride”.
The other guy is The Man In Black/Dread Pirate Roberts/Mostly Dead/Westley from the Princess Bride :)
So it must be "True" Love
@@paulpeterson4216 Twue wuv for sure 😂
And the Dr. In SAW
If you want to see someone fight their own hand, you’ve gotta watch Evil Dead 2.
Maybe start with Evil Dead…and follow #2 up with Army of Darkness.
Bruce Campbell has an epic fight with his own hand in Evil Dead 2!
I believe Amber has said she grew up watching Child’s Play. The blonde, short-haired blonde, is Jennifer Tilly. She played Tiffany in Bride of Chucky and it’s sequels, among several other iconic movies and voicework. She’s also a damn good poker player.
great Canadian comic. We actually have a huge number of funny folks. All the way back to 1910's Hollywood. Just explore our huge contribution to movies. Love you guys.
“Me, Myself, and Irene” from 2000 is a funny Jim Carrey movie. Made by The Farrelly Brothers, who always have some off the wall productions. Check it out! 😁
I would have loved a Bewitched show revoot with Jim Carrey as Darrin and Reese Witherspoon as Samantha
They're both too old now.
I hate that so many people think that "telling the truth" or "not lying" means "blurt out the most offensive and mean thoughts you have immediately as you have them in the most hurtful way you can." Keeping your thoughts to yourself isn't lying. You can even respond to direct questions without lying. I mean, if someone says "does this outfit look good" you can say "it doesn't suit you" or "x isn't your color" instead of "you look like a steaming pile of sh*t".
This is one of my favorite Jim Carrey Movies. It really showcases his comedic talent. Also (you may not know this) in the 90’s he was in a sketch comedy show called “In Living Color” And one of his characters was “Fire Marshal Bill”. You can see Jim dressed as a Firefighter at the end of the movie after the airplane scene. An homage to that character.
I love that they love Jim comedy roles. Anxious to see what they'd think of his dramatic stuff. The Number 23, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, The Majestic. All underrated as hell
The pen scene is one of the funniest scenes ever to me lol, Jim Carrey is a Comedic Genius.
I stole “the Claw” and used it on my niece and nephew when they were young. They loved it.
The outtakes at the end are awesome.
Great movie, Jim Carrey is amazing! For a great funny movie that has this kind of physical comedy from Steve Martin, All Of Me. With Lily Tomlin. It's hysterical. 😂
the boy they cast to play Jim's son Max was just perfect. forget the rest of the plot, if they made a movie of just him tickling Max for 2 hours I'd watch it!
There’s a great movie with the little boy called one fine day…George Clooney and Michelle phiffer…it’s a terrific rom com
"I HOLD MYSELF IN CONTEMPT!"
Powerful.
Jennifer Tilly is the actress with the distinctive voice. (Bride of Chucky, Bonnie Swanson on Family Guy to name a few) The gf in the adam sandler movie the waterboy is an actress named Fairuza Balk. Their voices are so catchy though. :)
I love comedy, but you just have to watch "The Others". Kind of a supernatural with twist. Nicole Kidman is great.
When he says that he is a bad father, that got me crying.
I've left this same comment before on another video, but one of the best parts of your reactions, are your interactions with each other. You clearly respect and love one another, and it makes the videos so much more enjoyable. I try to catch every one of your reactions for that reason. Love you guys.
Great eye spotting the guy from pet detective! I've seen this film countless times and never noticed! That's why I love watching you two react!
"HIT ME AGAIN IKE AND PUT SOME STANK ON IT!!" Almost killed me!!😅
Bruce Campbell does a great job of acting like his hand is trying to kill him in Evil Dead 2. Its a great bit of acting.
No exaggeration to say this movie is one of the funniest comedies ever made.
Looking forward to watching y'all's reaction ...
Roll it !!
15:48 NOT "only Jim Carey" could fight
his own hand! Bruce Campbell did it
earlier AND better in Evil Dead 2. (1987)
No Roadhouse starring Patrick Swayze this week either. 😢 Maybe next time.
You KNOW Jerry is played by the actor that was The Dread Pirate Roberts in "The Princess Bride" - Cary Elwes.
Just wanted to mention that Brendan Gleeson, was Hamish in Braveheart, the mean sheriff in Lake Placid, and Mad Eye Moody in Harry Potter. Trivia.
That final courtroom just before he gets arrested scene always gets me emotional.
Btw. Did y'all watch the bloopers at the end? How Swoosie Kurtz "gets" Jim Carrey when he is doing his courtroom Shenanigans & she yells out "OVER ACTOR" she got him good. It was hysterical
This is one of Jennifer Tilly's best movies, next to the Child's Play franchise, in which she joined in the 4th movie (Bride of Chucky) and has been in every movie since plus the tv series, "Chucky"
Fun fact about Jim Carrey. In 1994 he was the first actor ever to have 3 movies go straight to #1 at the theatres in the same year.
Yes, no other big actor’s career took off as fast as Jim’s did. Not even Tom Cruise’s career took off as fast as his did
Not sure if you guys know, but Jerry is the actor Carey Elwes. He played Westly in the Princess Bride movie, and did an amazing job, whole cast did really.
I am such a movie buff and I couldn't believe you noticed the guy at the beginning from ace ventura. I never would have picked that up. Great job!
Liar Liar is up there for me with his movies. Not number 1 but up there. The outtakes at the end are the best. My kids and I reference it a lot in our lives, lol.
Yes, it is number 1 next to both Ace Ventura movies, the Mask and Dumb & Dumber. Those are all his best movies
Jennifer Tilly/Samantha Cole(client) was the Bride in Bride of Chucky, she was Madame Liotta in The Haunted Mansion(Eddie Murphy version)and countless movies. Full of talent.
The outtakes on this movie were really cool.
Liar liar is one of my best friend and Is go to movies. When we watched it as teens we quoted it all the time, and still do honestly.
The "here she comes to wreck the day!" Was said by my best friend after waiting 10 minutes for a late teacher. Saud exactly how Jim did, no prompt. Twas hilarious
She's Chucky's bride Tiffany, Mme Liota from Eddie Murphy's Haunted Mansion and also in a very under reacted to movie, 'High Spirits.'
I think this might be my favorite JC movie. His physical humor (always so good) is off the hook (in a good story)!
When Jim Carrey was beating himself up in the courtroom bathroom, no special audio effects were necessary. He actually hit himself hard on the bathroom floor.
