the price is fantastic and it has attractive pricing unlike any other segment
I was actually surprised, i was expecting 30ish, but at 25K it's awesome and makes sense...... They could've used 8 Gen 1 tho, it's a tablet so you have all the space for cooling, 860 is fine now but it won't be after 2 years and people uses tablets for 5/6 years at least..... So that was a bold move, and an SD card slot would be nice...... But i don't blame them for that

You can check tech gear talk for ipad vs mi pad but it was ipad air. Even for the price, mi pad are better in some cases

I’d suggest you to invest in iPad. They are worth it.
Being a college student,i am using iPad Pro M1 since last year and believe me nothing comes close.
The smooth pro motion display, low latency Apple Pencil, super slim and light weight and main selling point for me the app optimisation.
I use GoodNotes for taking notes and it is one of the best app but it isn’t available on android.
You can also use pen drive on iPads to store lectures and plug it in whenever you need and new files app makes it simple.
I would suggest anyone to go for an iPad instead of android tablets.

@@j0ps-xfx idk if you used a good s pen tablet but there are different things to judge a pen about, consistency, activation pressure, latency and in all of them samsung ( using wacom which is industry leader for like a 10+ years ) does way better job than any pen and just equivalent to apple pencil, watch some good review about people who actually are digital artist and review those things and they'll tell you it's a matter of preference.
Did i forgot to mention that s pen don't need charging to work?

The community support for this is going to be CRAZY. I can imagine a wave of custom ROMS for this tablet, giving it the performance it deserves. This is what we wanted from Xiaomi. They delivered.

I owned the Mi pad 1 and Mi pad 4. The Mi pad 4 was one of my all time favorite devices, with the perfect size for ebooks and games. I always wondered why they didnt bring such a good device to India. If I had no tablet now, I definitely will buy this.

So I am using that as a tablet for my 5 year old son and got this 9th gen version. MUCH faster, a little slimmer, smaller bezels, all around a leap forward. Plus, for the price that’s about $130-$150 cheaper than a current new model this is a nice deal. I look forward to the M-series CPUs coming into iPads which will really help future proof these tablets better but these latest CPUs are pretty strong and should do better to last several years with no compromises.

Really exciting! I really hope the pad receives at least 3 years of updates. I was thinking of getting a budget touch screen laptop for studies, but now this seems like a more powerful and viable option. Would would y'all say, is the Xiaomi Pad 5 a better buy than a budget touchscreen laptop?
A laptop is a laptop afterall . Tho I have to say, if you can save files online on drive, and use the android replacements like google docs etc, This tab is definitely going to be much more smoother, better looking, more powerful and a better display, than any budget laptop at this price. For typing however a physical keyboard is much better, so if you can get a attachable keyboard case then I personally dont see a reason to not buy the tab, it pretty great

We should not forget the longevity SD 860 will give to this Tablet. There will be huge amount of custom ROMs built for this tablet based on Android 12L in the future. Also, Android is just SUPERIOR when it comes to features. Sure, iPad OS is much more matured but this could change with proper implementation of Android 12L
I'm using tab s6 lite and Android apps are just the zoomed up versions of their mobile ones. When you'll see zoomed version of hotstar, airtel xtreme, and even Netflix, you'll throw away your goodness of android 12.
Nobody would like to install custom roms in tablet. And no such geek would buy a tablet.

Trust me SD 860 is very deceiving…Samsung has been trying for years but still the gap is huge to fill in compared to iOs ….In long run it will not work well because of how optimization has been a problem since day one.

The galaxy tab is the perfect alternative to the iPad if u want an android tab, been using the s7plus its a very good tablet considering all factors
Biggest drawback of anroid tablet is security update..once they stop receiving updates after 2 yrs..it wl bcm slow n good for nothing..while apple provides atleast 5yrs of security updates

@@jotapeeee4009 yes they did bcz lithium-ion batteries in the devices became less capable of supplying peak current demands, as they aged over time and That could result in an iPhone unexpectedly shutting down to protect its electronic components.
with the next iOS release Apple added a switch so you could turn off this feature..

Headphone jack and sd card should be default option for tablets. I am using s6 lite and these features are mandetory in my opinion.

Tablets usually lasts longer and so they need software support. My 2017 26k Ipad is running on latest ipad os 14.1 even after 5 years and still rocking good. No other company can give even for 3 years. I m android lover but I still prefer apple for tablets. They are just too good.
Android doesnt stop working after few years if it doesnt get updates.. This has very powerful processor, fast storage, ram to easily last 5 years.
Software updates are overrated. Performance matters out of the box. Clear your junk and most phones and tabs run fine for 4-5 years.
@@b_hav_6365 well I still prefer software updates atleast security updates rather than powerful hardware. It feels safe.
@@saiteja911 I think its all a marketing trick. Nothing really goes wrong even if you dont update your phone. In fact, it has been proven that Apple and Samsung lower their performance by these so called updates.
@@b_hav_6365 dont under-estimate software updates. I have seen enough proofs in my circle which lost money due to using outdated phones. I don't want to get in to hardware vs software debate. Software downgrade through updates is cheap tricks playing by all manufacturers. I accept that but it should not takeway the benefits of security available with them. It is ok if hardware is your choice but I would not accept that software role is overrated.
Once I was an Xiaomi fan boy but now i am a apple fan boy owning ipad 9th. Love to watch the comparison between the two beast

So this tab was launched in August 2021 along with Xiaomi pad 5 pro which is a much better tab compared to this.. Why they are launching this product after about 8 months in India without the pro variant..🙄
Everyone hates MIUI but the animations, transition etc in MIUI is really good from my experience. Also has decent features
Miui is really good. Only problem is Copying, Visual bugs, Lags, Stuttering, Slow and improper updates.

And also some other things, let's say...is up for individual tolerance.
Especially Miui's restrictions and xiaomi's dumb decisions.
1. No third party launchers allowed. You are *Forced to use gestures with the system launcher on miui 13*
2. 10 second countdown every single time you toggle a sensitive setting e.g Accessibility options, some developer options.
Who at Xiaomi thought wasting 10 seconds of your life was a good idea lol. Just to give you a warning you are already aware of.
3. Removal of some features present on stock android like the *manual rotation toggle* that appears when your phone detects it's been rotated. (This is Irreplaceable for auto rotate haters).
Somehow Xiaomi decided to leave it in for the Chinese version of miui.
Like they always do.
4. "China first. Everyone else go to heck we don't care"
Other than these I could recall off the back of my head there's definitely more of course but this is long enough as it is, miui is pretty cool.
Especially it's features like *100mbps screen recording, floating windows. Forced Fullscreen for apps.*

I have been watching lots of review on Tabs, but didn't come to the conclusion. I like android love IOS but my first priority is the pencil, as a Designer that help me a lot in ideation.

It is a best specs tab at this price point.
But from student point of view, we need optimized apps, stylus( samsung bundled in the box), well connectivity with laptops. I think samsung s6 lite has still little edge over it. Though it has old school specs. It is already upgraded to android 12. Processor is not making any sense unless u play games in tab.

Anyways it all depends on priority. Mine is great media consumption and fast processor. S6 lite doesn't have both. To get both from samsung, I have to spend 60 to 70k

I still think Samsung tablets are the best but at such a low price, this might be good.. I want a comparison between this and similarly priced Samsung tablet. When it comes to multitasking features, Samsung tablets are the best (even better than iPad). iPad lacks in multitasking features but has better apps and performance. Samsung comes with dex which is the best way to use a tablet as laptop (atleast for now). But I don't know whether dex is supported on lower end models. My S6 tab lite has it and it's amazing.
The Xiaomi pad 5 is great. But I wish we could get a budget Android tablet with amoled display.
I think one day Motorola will give oLED display in tablets
