    Nailed it. I related to everything about the introvert. I was so uncomfortable inside the gym. I now just run/walk/hike trails for exercise outside and have my own equipment for everything else. My little sister (the extrovert) works out in a gym on a major highway where everyone at the stoplight can watch them through the totally glass walls.. This video confirms my theory that although we think it's meaningless, introverts' biggest problem isn't even exercising, but having to do it in front of other people.
    I was able to walk 10km every day without even feeling it because I was going to USP at 10pm to exercise and I wouldn't see a living soul there, just me and my music, but I had to stop with this because it got kind of dangerous.
    Now I'm training volleyball and I confess that I rather the 10km daily walk.

    • @rymreaper
      @rymreaper 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you remove cardio , weight training can be done inside home
      There are some cardio exercises that can be done indoors but nothing beats sports or walking or bicycling.

    • @rymreaper
      @rymreaper 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      10km is a lot
      5km is more than enough doing two times a week.
      You were doing it daily. Volleyball is much better enough tho it's uncomfortable for u.

    • @Myworld-rs1uh
      @Myworld-rs1uh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was really spot on🤦‍♀️
      I feel the same

    • @lost9050
      @lost9050 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@rymreaper Oh, thanks for the tip! I don't know anything about PE so it helps a lot, all I do is just hear what others have to say about it, so the 10km fits into those ''recommended number of daily steps'' to escape a sedentary lifestyle, but to be honest, I have no idea how much would be good for me.
      And as I have an active routine, in fact, it could be less, but it turns out that I don't even feel the walk, I put on a playlist that I enjoy and walk away smoothly, for an hour and a half.
      My biggest fear is that some kind of injury will happen because I'm not from the area and I'm not used to it (I really should pay someone to help me with this XD).
      My geology course has a lot of field trips, so it's customary to walk a lot (10km uphill, I wanna die sometimes), often in inhospitable conditions, so in a certain way walking a lot like this helps me keep a good pace for fieldwork too like the one I will have at the end of July.
      I played volleyball when I was younger and I like the sport, but it hurts a lot more (I get all sore and bruised after practice), and as pathetic as it sounds I get a little stuck with the thought of making mistakes in front of others which makes me really tense and propensity to commit more mistakes, so I rather the daily walk, but the recent kidnapping risk in this area ended this for a while...

I simply show up in a hoodie with a bottle of a mystery liquid, say absolutely nothing and make zero noise, work out really hard, and then leave 30 to 45 minutes later. As a socially anxious introvert who used to go to the gym, this depiction is spot on.
    Once I was able to make enough personal space for my own mini workout area at home, I stopped going. And to my surprise, I lost more inches working out at home alone than I ever did with gym workouts; in a much shorter time span too. I guess I was avoiding getting in a good workout because of my anxiety.

      Yeah, social anxiety adds up to the introversion. I'm nervous about going to the new gym, because I already can feel how awkward I'll feel in the gym when thinking that people will be looking at me doing things wrong and awkward. But I don't have enough space at home and I can't run because I'm scared of dogs. So to decrease my anxiety level and to keep myself fit I need to go to gym anyway. Or I can try swimming.

    At first I thought hiring a personal trainer would be the worst thing as an introvert since I'd have to interact and talk to a person during my training, but now that I did it, it's great - no one else comes to correct me because they see I'm with a professional, I don't have to worry about sharing equipment because he's taking care of that AND I don't even have to talk to anybody else, not even him, because I get so extremely tired after every single exercise that I can't even talk. Also having someone constantly judging what I'm doing is a great motivator to not give up. Highly recommend it! :D

But I don't have friends who go to the gyms (I have only 2 friends in total and we didn't talk for 3 weeks now), so... It's hard to go there alone and I didn't go there yet.

    I so agree with everything that the introvert has said. Especially lowing the anxiety level, saving for my own equipment, going at evening when less people are around, change the whole workout routine to avoid confrontation. This all hits home so much.

    So truth! I have been exercising in the gym, when I was younger, - and I mean MUCH younger. Now I prefer to do it at home. I guess, it's because I used to be less introverted before.... or just didn't have necessary equipment of my own :))))

    Soooo accurate again, especially loved the True Crime Podcast part xD
    One exception that is less realistic: The introvert going to the gym AT ALL (instead of doing his workouts, let's say, all alone somewhere in nature where nobody else is ever passing by).

    😂😂😂😂 "listening to crime podcasts and pretend running from a psychotic killer..very motivating..." haha, no kidding? hilarious... A different perspective to consider: I went to fitness centers to escape an abusive "home" environment, to be honest...I'm an introvert and empath...so at least the gym was positive.. and positive...(all be it..very "naked" and ...populated, lol...same with casinos...)they became my "home" like living in the eye of an over-sensory tornado, lol...learned how to be an introvert in any environment and still connect with others...it drains more than it gives...but the advantage of not standing out in an extrovert crowd to observe and even participate in extroverted behavior in-person...its priceless...a different kind of connection than what you have with yourself or other introverts...in Vegas...the emotions were generally a mixture of curiosity and sensuality...in a club setting with a little alcohol in your system...feeling the bass notes vibrate the very air you breathe...the sensation of complete strangers bumbing into or pushing into you in the dark...as an empath and introvert...it's really quite the terrifying high..much like a person who is afraid of height-jumping from an airplane, lol..it's just the ability and range of adaptation...it's its own kind of "workout" to dive into your weakness and swim along with those who are my opposites...did it in most of my jobs too, now that I think about it...it's adapting to survive, ultimately...how's that for motivation? Lol so...I adopt a flexible attitude in the gym or fun environments with lots of people...but I have to psyche myself out to do it..meditate and pray and really focus and refocus out of myself constantly...exhausting to maintain...just to say...there are exceptions...that "extrovert " critiquing your "form" may be an introvert getting into character to blend into or survive that envoronment.... a secret Intrivert agent, if you will:) just to point out a reality in my world that hopefully stretches and expands your already enormous understanding in this area:)

    The introvert is so relatable it's insane! When I went to the gym and there were guys chatting with everyone I just kept thinking "don't come over here, don't come over here..." One guy started talking to me (he was always social with everyone...) so I tried to be polite. I made the mistake of being too open and he started to ask about my financial situation. Then he started to tell me about his insurance company and wanted to sell it to me.
    It was in that moment I lost faith that a stranger can be friendly without an ulterior motive.

    I was taking a body combat fitness class and the instructor started a short intro speech for the member she's been watching and wanted to come up and do a segment with her. I was just punching the air not giving it thought and she asked me to go up there. It took a while to register. It was very nerve-racking. Of course, I went up there since everyone was clapping and cheering for me. She wanted me to become an instructor. I didn't go to her class for a week or two to avoid that happening again.
    I loved the class too much to stop going altogether tho lol punching kicking and jumping in the air with combos changing every minute is great for my brain

    I'd love to go to the gym late at night, but since it's summertime, there are a lot of people in there at that time, because the weather is cooler. The only chance I have is going there in early morning; there are a few people, but I can handle it. There are days where there are more people than usual, and literally, the first thing I say to myself before entering is: "Oh no, too many people"😪

    Most got headphones on, some are spotting for someone, otherwise we all just doing our own thing because we're trying to improve ourselves and get ready for tryouts before the school year starts.
