I lived in Sarasota in the 90's and snorkeled Point of Rocks many times. For better visibility, I found going after high tide was the best. Generally, the cloudy stuff in the water comes in from low tide to high tide, then goes out from high tide to low tide. Just after high tide makes the water a little deeper and more areas are accessible. So fun!
Hi Jenna. We went during the summer since the water was just perfect. We went early but high tide is great for visibility. You’d have to look at the tide calculator to find the best times to snorkel. 🙌

There’s not much to snorkel on the west side of FL but from what I found out, this is a great spot if the water isn’t too rough. Enjoy 😊
