Where did you get that jst-sh Female to female cable to go between the VESC and the NANO? Nothing came with mine so I am having to find some. I also have 2 Vesc so I Assume I would just use chan1 for 1 vesc and chan 2 for 2 vesc..

John Bias that cable is a normal servo cable, 3 pin header 2.54mm pitch (100mil). You can get them at your local hobby store or online (hobby king)
To connect two vesc, you have 2 options
1- connect both vesc via the CAN bus (jst ph 4 pin connector)
2- use a servo Y cable spitter in both of the ppm inputs (hobbyking has those)

Thanks for the info on the cable. Is the CAN bus cable common also? Forgive me but I do not have the vesx's in front of me but using #1 option I connect the VESC together via CAN BUS then connect chan1 of the Nano to either VESC? is that correct? Does it say CAN bus or is it the only 4 pin connector on the VESC?Other question: Do I need to go into the VESC to setup anything? Are they set from the factory to default settings? Is there anything I need to change? 1 more question if you do not mind: on the handheld controller just down from the Thumb Rocker there is a switch.. What does it do? I didn't get any documentation with mine so I am left guessing a lot.

John Bias on the top cover of the vescx there will be a label marked CAN. You can just get a cable from diyelectricskateboatd. It's a 4 pin jst ph connector with 2 wires on it.
The vescx should come from the factory with the CAN communication enabled. You can change those settings via the bldc tool
The little switch bellow the thumb throttle is for "beginner" and "advance" mode. Beginner mode throttles down the ppm signal so top speed will be limited

How do I go about buying a new nano-x controller? I've been trying to get a hold of someone for weeks with no reply.

so I just got my nano x remote. it does auto bind but loses it bind every time I turn the board off. so when I turn my board on it loses it bind every single time do i have to unscrew my cover from my board in order to get to my servo cable in order to reconnect to my vesc everytime I turn my board on. Any way to fix this?

Charlie Brown i'm not sure i understand your question. The receiver should always be connected to the vesc, there's no manual intervention needed for for it to rebind

Charles Allix that's what I expected also. let me reword my last comment since it was confusing to understand. But the remote did initially auto bind and i had a good ride and turned my board off. Then I turned my board on to ride again and the remote was flashing again like it lost its bind. So I had to open up my case in order to get to my servo cable. Once I unplugged my cable and reconnected it it did bind with the board again. But now I find that I have to do open up my board every single time because the board remote resets its bind and flashes whenever I turn off my board and turn it back on. sorry for confusion. hopefully this one is easier to understand.

Charlie Brown ah i see, i'll try it out and report back. Ping me if i forget to respond.
But you don't have an easy way of power cycling your board?

    • @charliebrown5964
      @charliebrown5964 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Charles Allix unfortunately not. I purchased the space cell pro 3 with the nano x remote bundle. but I think I have found a way around it. as long as I turn the remote off before I turn the board off the remote remembers to bind with the board, but if I turn the board off first then the remote, it ends up losing its bind. it is a hassle but this temporary solution will have to do.

Charlie Brown i was able to reproduce your behavior. So while binded, if you close your remote, while the board is still on, you need to turn your board off and back on.
Your sp3 has a power switch, you can just flip it off and back on again. Don't see why you would need to open it up

Greg Owen on my other remote it took over a minute to bind, is your receiver flashing?

if you are still experiencing issues, remove the double sided tape inside the receiver and try again

This is exactly how it went the first time I turned on the remote. Second (which was right after like he did) and every time after that, no bind. There is an issue with several of their remotes. Just waiting for their answer.
