Some movie franchises can span decades but few can still be so highly regarded as the Australian car chase classic Mad Max and its sequels. Furiosa was trying to escape in the first Praetorian Jack chase scene. There was an earlier scene where she's hiding supplies. She was hiding a bike and supplies under the war rig. She was forced to help Jack when they were attacked by the Octoboss.
The escape from Gastown and the battle at the Bullet Farm take place much later.
Just like Fury Road and the other Mad Max films, there's a lot of plot and character development without dialogue. Like Furiosa tattooing the map to her home on the arm she eventually loses. She sacrifices her arm when Praetorian Jack dies. She's losing the person she cares about and she's losing her way home.

If she was planning on escaping with just a bike, then at the end of the film, when she was outside the citadel with a whole car.. why TF did she go back?

From what I understand about Miller’s feelings towards the game, it has something to do with his initial plans to release a tonne of multimedia alongside Fury Road.
Furiosa was supposed to be an anime released before Fury Road for example, while Miller and Corey Barlog - the God of War guy - were going to do a video game about Max’s backstory before Fury Road.
That didn’t happen obviously, and I think where Miller’s indifference comes from is that Avalanche studios were given access to all the concept art stuff Miller and his team came up with for the two films and his game by Warner Bros.
So that’s why Chumbucket and Scrotus, along with Hope and Glory, are in that game. Along with a reference to Dementus too I think.
There may have even been stuff in that game which was meant for The Wasteland, tho whether that happens now.
But take what I say with a pinch of salt. I’m a random prick on the internet. I wasn’t there.

I've been a fan since the road warrior came out. I was 13 years old and my parents, being the idiots as they were, took me to see it.
This needs was to say shaped my idea of aesthetics and of a genre that got me rather early in life.
It was years later I found out that there was a prior movie.
So when thunder don't came out... I enjoyed it in the theater. And I haven't been able to watch it since. Fury road was actually a pleasant swingback. But it sounds like furiosa is akin to thunderdome. Fun to watch the first time but....

WAIT am I crazy?! is there a new movie or wtf is this about ?! Some of the scenes these people talk about seem familiar (maybe from other media) and some is completely news to me! if there is a new movie HOW COME I NEVER SEEN ANYTHING ABOUT ANYWHERE ONLINE?! WHAT ON EARTH ...
