Our Hopes and Dreams for Sonic Origins Plus!

- This is a little late, but with the news of Sonic Origins Plus being rated, I think these are the most realistic things we'll see added to make it a better, definitive Sonic Genesis-era compilation. This could be the only new Sonic game in 2023.
I think we could get new characters like Amy and Metal Sonic in Sonic Origins Plus, a physical retail release and up to 4 additional games added.

Classic player here but I'm not an adult, or a teen
I want to see the scrapped zones from Sonic 2 implemented and are found within stages, similar to how Hidden palace zone was in Mystic cave. But if you want to do the beta Hidden Palace zone you get all the chaos emeralds. And since time traveling was once mentioned, maybe it can show that idea after the post credits but you use it as a level selection and collect or find the hidden stages, if that make sense. Have Cyber City act 2 become a a brand new stage. Have Amy, Metal Sonic, Cream, and maybe some characters from the comic or animated series be playable.
Thats a lot of extras; having some of those older levels able to be played in Museum Mode would be neat.
I doubt we'd see anyone playable except Amy or Metal tbh. Although I do feel Cream should return to the games some time soon!

I also had SEGA Game Gear, I'm a SEGA kid, I love SEGA. Upgrade for $10 and a fisical release cool.

btw SEGA didn't add Tails and Knuckles Stelton and Christian Whitehead add them in almost a decade ago so there's really no new playable characters if you remember they can't even get Knuckles in Sonic CD so my guess is either they learn or they get someone else to help the fans already put knuckles in sonic cd amy in sonic mania

honestly I have some thoughts that I wanted to share
1- I don't feel like they will put other games like (chaotix or spinball or 3dblast) because that would be too much work let's face the truth sega wouldn't put out any effort to revive knuckles chaotix because of the 32x
2- I would not be surprised if they make mighty or ray playable or heck even amy maybe will be playable (also knuckles in cd) and save slots and bug fix for 3k because there are so many bugs in it
3- maybe they will add new animated cutscenes or new models to the "character animation bonus" like knuckles or amy
4- new missions I sure of it
putting new missions will be great too or new content in the museum
maybe or maybe new video settings like sharp pixels they were in mania so why not add it there too?
5- adding extra moves like tails cancelling his flying ability or knuckles glide or add the peel out to sonic 1 and 2 or the elemental shields to cd I would appreciate that
so that's the stuff I expect from origins plus even if will be half of the stuff I mentioned I would hardly appreciate it.
Theres got to be some sort of expanded content (otherwise whats the sales pitch for people to buy it) so its either new characters or new games. I feel like adding new games like Spinball/3D Blast is totally viable though; they've ported them many times before, its not like its groundbreaking. Chaotix is the unlikeliest game.

@@setrx I believe they count as Genesis era games (and I believe Sega thinks that too considering their respective islands are present in the menu) and therefore I wouldn't be surprised to see them be added as extra. I think whatever they add has to be significant enough to get people to buy it. A game would do that. A character wouldn't be significant enough.

honestly I feel like 3D blast doesn't hvae as much of a chance, but Knuckles' chaotix is is mostly put the Origin physic into Knuckles' chaotix and thats that, but everything else as a bigger chance of appearing and would be nice to see
See 3D Blast's island is already present in game, which lends itself more to this. Chaotix with a physics upgrade would be nice too.
@@mastertrainergaming i mean gameplay wise, just because the a 3d model of the island doesn't sega or the other companies will work on a completely different gameplay style
@@oscarkambouris2212 Well this is the key question isn't it. Is this a collection of Genesis era games or is this a collection of side scrolling Sonic platformers?
I'd argue Genesis era games, and considering that the islands for Spinball and 3D Blast are in the menu already, they're at least eligible for being ported into the game. They wouldn't specifically need to make physics adjustments either, so its not a case of 'working on a completely different gameplay style'. Thats irrelevant IMO.
If there are new games, it is going to come down to whether they are willing to accept emulation in the collection. If they are making retro/star engine a requirement then I can't see more than one extra game if any. Also the argument could be made the Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic Spinball, and Sonic 3D Blast were not all that well received. Again though as emulated bonus games (hopefully with M2 quality emulation) I could see it happen. Personally I would accept emulated bonus games, but you can't emulate the Sonic 3 & K without yet again making changes to the music. Unless they do sell the original music as DLC and the sweetener to that is the emulation of Sonic 3 & K.
I think if they are going to add any features, the first thing on the list should be to get Knuckles into Sonic CD.
I hope that any plus content will come on the back of a patch to the game that restores the missing content and sound effects to the game, especially in CD. I also would like to see the roll lock removed in Sonic 1 and 2 and the dropdash actually properly implemented instead of a Spindash hack, those are glaring issues right now.
Honestly my greatest hope for the plus content, is not what will be included in the paid upgrade, but that it might lead to the entire set of games getting a layer of polish from headcannon, which would be wonderful.
We need a metal sonic
Well the only playable characters i can definitely see being added in all titles are:
Mighty, Ray, Victor and Espio only.
And for the games are just going to be Sonic Mania and Sonic Mania Plus since they all fit in a canonly timeline.
I hadn't considered them adding Mania in but that would make canonical sense. How interesting.
I don't see them adding the Chaotix crew in the other games though. Metal Sonic would probably be the easiest to implement

Well instead of Metal Sonic being the boss in Sonic CD, it could be Metal Sonic 3.0
