I like how Title Defense Sandman is like a new Mike Tyson. It's like he's the spiritual successor to his NES fight without the constant insta kills, but still with the crazy fast punches, and even the winking
He studied Tyson, that’s for sure.
And with champion mode, Tyson succesor in punch out is created
Their haircuts are pretty similar too
fun fact, if you lose to mr. sandman in title defense the next time you fight him the intro animation returns to the original version minus the part where doc is scared of mr.sandman

I love how in title defense mode (Wii) Mr. Sandman is unbelieved that he's mached up with Little Mac. He just feels anger twords him, and wants his title back.

They did it with Isabelle so I'm hopeful
If mister sand man was a fighter he would be the strongest fighter ever and he has the strength and more but the only thing he didn't have was an actual human player controlling his actions and if he did he would be unstoppable there for he would just maul everyone easily.
Really I'd love any Punch-Out fighter to be in Smash especially Mr. Sandman. Although I feel like King Hippo and Soda Poppinski have the potential to be unique.
@@veggie928 omg, i couldnt agree more. At least for soda pop, i visualized a move set in my head. King hippo is a k rool echo easily. Sadly if anyone from punchout were to be in smash it would make most sense for great tiger since he has clones to work with with elements
@@JollyRodger2667 Yeah, King Hippo is definitely an echo for K Rool. Soda could have a cool special where he becomes powered up by drinking his special soda as long as he has the time to do it.
@@veggie928 id say similar to terry getting the go meter. Maybe he has a counter but at over 100 percent if you counter, you take full damage but no knockback and he turns red with seeping rage

What would happen if little Mac and Mac faced each other?
Little Mac being the underdog and such is basically made to win, but the real question is, how much of a fight the has-been Mac could put up? He is obviously no string chicken, both Little Mac and Mac have experience in taking down bigger opponents, but Little Mac's expertise is a bit multiplied by his stature. I just don't think Mac would be ready to face such a small man after having most of his expertise in taking down larger and less technical opponents, since Little Mac is the definition of technical.

@@iczev I think Mac would hurt much like Mr. Sandman and dodge a little like Little Mac, so he'd make to the end rounds, probably past Mr. Sandman, but the exhaustion from all the technical fighting will cause him to be an easy target for a finishing blow.
The scariest things about NES Sandman is you nearly don't have a time to react to his rage uppercuts, the flash is literally 10 times faster than the time we spend blinking once.

1:00 - The NES conversion of Punch-Out!!! had Mr. Sandman at his most unpredictable behavior--I could never survive the first 50 seconds without blocking those rolling jabs. :(
The rolling jabs are actually fairly easy to dodge. He takes three steps before throwing the punch. Except for the 6th and 11th punches, which are always six steps instead of three. Dreamland Express is tough. He always does it at a minute thirty in the first round. When he puts his gloves together, that's your cue to dodge. In round 2, he'll always do Dreamland Express after being knocked down, and occasionally around a minute fifteen.

I hate how Super Punchout made the classic fighters so much weaker. Bald Bull moved from terrifying Bull Rush Major league champion to easy as pie. Sandman was one of the best fighters in the first NES game, if not the best except for Mike Tyson, and he’s so much less of a challenge on the SNES.
