The misogyny is the only thing that kept me from going the fascist route. Instead I went with the Moralintern and had Harry be a racist but also a feminist. I was pleased when both things got acknowledged at the end of the game, with Kim talking about my "old fashioned" views but also how I was very passionate about feminism. Why, half the reason I hate those damned foreigners is because they're about 70 years behind the Western world on women's rights. We still have a lot to fix and do better at, but I worry we're getting sidetracked by the imaginary complaints of privileged immigrant men when even WE continue to have issues with gender equality (as recently demonstrated by the overturning of Roe v. Wade...). I have seen the patriarchy in full force in one of those third world holes, and these men, after treating the women of their countries abysmally, have the *gall* to come here and then pretend that they're being persecuted? The West is the one civilization that has managed to slightly grow past the overall scumminess of humanity, but rather than continuing to grow and improve we've suddenly decided we're the worst thing ever and we must wallow in guilt and self-loathing for the crimes of long ago people, when other cultures are *currently* committing similar crimes *as we speak*!

A major driving force behind the persecution of women and homosexual ppl in many places is that the US, Britain and many colonial powers exported these views to the imperial periphery. Just as an example, operation Boot coordinated by the US and UK saw the overthrow of the Iranian president in the 50's and replaced by a conservative oil shah, which directly led to Iran becoming more religiously fundamentalist and going back on its political freedoms for women. For another, it's well recorded that many regions in Africa were cool with homosexuality and had all sorts of interpretations on the role of women in society prior to the french anr belgians instilling them with their own shitass values in the 18th and 19th centuries.
