Indy, I don't think it is just your impression. Unless I missed something in the lore, Gor-Rok is bigger than your average saurus. I don't think he is massive like a Kroxigor but, anytime I have heard him described, "his size, albino coloration and lone emergence mark him as a champion" or something along those lines. That might be from the wiki, but it is something like that in official GW stuff. So, he is at least noticeably bigger than a normal saurus, but I don't think they ever go into by how much.
EDIT: I want to say an army book even has a line about him being "oversized" and how that if he wasn't so much faster, stronger, and more durable than an average saurus it would be a disadvantage.
The saurus are hunched over because they are using the same skeleton or base model as skaven.
When you zoom out and the LOD drops you can see it's the same black rat like model.
Which is ironic.
Saurus have been more orc-ish in posture with a stooping head rather than full on scoliosis

The speed of the warp lightning cannon shots was my fav thing about this tbh, the cannon projectile never sat well with me and making it so fast its pretty much a bolt of lightning is a cute fix
I do agree with Warhammer+ not being worth it. Especially as we traded the TH-cam Fan Animations that were starting to flourish or were around for years.
I cannot understand how GW is not able to produce something with high production value, or didn't start with 5 series from the beginning. They have the money, somebody could have thought they had at least a plan. Doesn't need something big as the MCU, but at least some kind of a plan or roadmap. Even Astartes 2 is not released, or perhaps not even started yet. Jeez, such a waste of potential. Got some hopes for our Lord Inquisitor Cavill to come up with something solid.
i have very little hope that live action Warhammer will be remotely worth watching lol. I am glad HC is a fan and clearly loves the source material, and I'm sure he will do his best to make it decent. But I really dont have much expectation that it will be good. hopefully i am proven wrong!

i'd rather have them use time adding more combat animations, figuring out how to do grouped synched combat with disengage ability etc.'
i know its possible i've seen some tech dude show off how to make a system run thousinds of individual animations as a group processes making it require a literal fraction of computation. and that kind of inbuilt tech would make the absolutely insanely amazing combat, for its genre, even more amazing ^^
alsp figuring out how to have huge monstrosities running through tiny human sized stuff as if they wont there and trampling over large with relative ease, without it destroying balance.. like rebalance so big stuff doesnt look so terrible getting stuck etc.
like when you move command away from combat all units blocked will start to fight their way out instead of pressing themselves against a wall of meat and dying; when out they will continue the move command with the rest, if more than x% is caught the remaining units will turn and help fight them out then resume the escaped command when more then x% is able to do so without fighting their way out.
cool stuff like that would be awesome and is FAR more needed than wasting time and pointless stuff which others who's passion that is can and will do it many times better. better to hire those people to do something if you want it.
but honestly would you rather have all before mentioned changes or a 2hours super cool animated movie you see ONCE and then reminisce about in 2 years??
because i know what i want and its not a 1 time watch, but a thousinds of hours enjoyment. cant be compared.
also yes astartes series is amazingly made but its 40k and has nothing to do with CA or their scope or future scope or any scupe they ever had ;P

That is he's going to be great to watch and give it his all, and i'll watch it just for him, but everything that isn't him is going to be shit.
Seems the guy is cursed to be a great actor stuck in projects where nobody gives a damn about the material but him.
@@SpookSkellington Except Cavill gives his all for what he cares and produces the series, so he and GW have the last word on everything. Could be good. Cavill dropped out of DCU cause he didn't get a word in choosing the director on his next planned superman films. He has a creative vision on the projects he loves and cares about. The upper ones didn't listen to him.
The DDN battles really feel so much more like real battles, in terms of pacing, ebb and flow.

I think of Gor-Rok as kroxigor sized, after all he is the "Great white lizard". Didn't it take like 10 saurus to JUST lift his shield? I always have a mod making him around that size or just edit myself
If memory serves, it took ten kroxigors to lift the slab the shield was made from, and generations of skink artisans to carve it.
I agree he should stand taller than most saurus, but he's not a giant.
He's not as big as a krox but he's about the same big ratio to standard saurus that Nakai is to regular krox, that is to say significantly

This is the first time in ages that I've heard anyone mention Warhammer+. I've neither heard nor seen any mention of it or content on it anywhere since the initial announcement. I honestly forgot it even existed.

Gor-Rok is the biggest Saurus to ever exist. He is stronger than Kroq-Gar. The only of his spawn pool, which meant either: he was all that was needed or the pool couldn't replicate his awesome.

Hey Indy is there a way to send you replays? I had an amazing multiplayer quick battle where a 300 man tzeench cavalry build VS 1700 skaven and pulled out a win. No large monsters or anything.
I like steel within story line. when the dark Eldar attacked a human city and the humans called for aid thinking it would be space marines, but it ended up being the iron warriors and the slaughter begins. it was a great short story.
The most recent one yeah. it was called Iron Within actually. It was quite good too. Nothing super amazing animation imo but i liked it a lot. And the style seemed very similar to Astartes. I believe it is the same creator as the guy works for GW now i think
I think there was a cool storm and bolter episode where the guard are fighting drukkari and the bad marines show up to "help"

could go either way! obviously the HE/DE rivalry is more intense and personal. but i think vs. Daemons is more classic in the sense of the original Chaos invasion and what it meant for the world

Probably right about got-rok as a lot of stuff is made to balance as the real lore stuff doesn’t make sense in terms of gameplay or tabletop. The faction I know the most about High elves and Bretonnians are a bit off, bret knights are swordsmen and can fight on foot, grail knight and questing knights are never made into units as grail knights are Demi-gods and questing knights are moving all the time.”they shall not rest more than two nights in a single place lest they be found wanting!” Also malekith is afraid of teclis as teclis is so powerful, teclis winked malaketh into the warp at the battle of finabar plains. and Tyrion is basically anerion reborn as in the best warrior in the world.

This was great, but while I think the lord changes are interesting in the mod I really dislike the lord sliping it enables as we saw here, but thats me with my wh mindset anyways
in shogun 2 you could lose a lord even if the unit protecting him was full health

Is it just me, or are a lot of things moving faster in this mod? I feel like the skinks, skaven, and a lot of the monsters were moving much more quickly than in the base game.
Yeah lots of things are faster, lizards and skaven especially- others are slower though it isn't a completely universal thing

When is CA gonna fix the fighting animations so the modders can fix the custom matched combat animations? It's hard to play the game without it.
They already have, but they introduced new animation slots so all their previous animations will need updating for 3.0 first
@@theduketw according to the mod page, they are still waiting on CA to fix the newest patch on their end because it's too screwed up for them to mod. This was also included in the recent 'known issues' article from CA
@@7F0X7 I don't see it in the known issues and I doubt ca can address it, it's a mod tool issue in that without knowing how the new animations were formatted it couldn't give proper IDs to them. Now that we know the order, it just needs copy pasting from one mod tool version to another. It's slow work and dull but I can't see CA completely altering the animation set up for one mod, and even id they did they'd break every other mods anims who've now changed the IDs
Haven’t tried Warhammer + but theirs not enough there really, I mean if they did a proper series IE gaunts ghosts or something I’d give it a go. I’m with you on AC 2 at least ezio story was good! I didn’t bother with AC again till origins, I love odyssey though as that’s a great game! Playing as the female Kassandra is best I think her voice actor is better!

Yeah GW really fumbled with their treatment of Fan projects.
Yeah sadly Warhammer+ isn't really worth it. Thankfully it gets you a limited plastic model, but other than that the batreps are predictable and made to sell the product, the painting tutorials have taken a dive in quality since they moved to OnlyHands, the animations are kinda meh. The lore videos are ok, but nothing that isn't already handled similarly on youtube.
I've watched most of the Warhammer+ stuff through some swachbuckling means and honestly I'm just disappointed. Angels of Death was of a good quality but still felt like a letdown when you realise the resources GW has. Now for that show in particular I can give it a pass since it was on the work years before the streaming service thing came up and it acted as a prototype of sorts. But, the fact that in all these years they only managed to make a single season of Hammer and Bolter and 3 episodes of Exodite is just mind boggling. HaB is imo a decent show and I personally don't mind the comic book style animation, not every single series can look like Astartes after all. Plus some of it's stories like the Eldar or Cadian ones are really damm good. But then you get things like Exodite. Looks fantastic, makes the Eldar and Krieg based as fuck (eat shit Tau fans), clearly has been in production long before they were taken in by GW, and we only get 30 minutes? Wtf do they have only 2 people working on it? Death of Death of Hope, a solo project with somewhat equivalent quality was 20 min long. And the fact that they made a completely new streaming service means that they thought they could go toe to toe against shows like Edgerunners, Arcane, or Castlevania. To see such incredible video game adaptations break the limits of the gaming community and bring their incredible stories to a wider audience only makes GW's failure that much more painful and obvious.
Oh and death the the rats. Dinosaurs best jungly bois.

Warhammer plus is only worth it if you buy one month after the series you want to watch comes out or you're a diehard tabletop fan already. Typical Games Workshop, continuing to milk whale after whale but have no real foresight to bring new people into the hobby with free promotions from fan animations.
Warhammer+ was so not worth it.
Nothing in their roster is making up for the lost talent. Astartes 2 is still nowhere to see and no announcement whatsoever on their 2023 trailer.
I can appreciate the creator of Hellsreach being a part of the team but eh, angels of death was a swing and a miss compared to his original work.
More than anything, we had something beautiful coming together, a thriving and growing community of animators that was slowly, very slowly but always ambitiously coming together.
But the scorched earth tactic of GW really killed it all. The last church a whole ass movie was made and taken down, we had the prospect of a War of Vraks animation, TTS didn't feel safe enough making content, The astartes creator got swallowed and disappeared into the Warhammer TV gullet, on the ensuing chaos created by GW Sodaz decided to step down from the community.
Now everyone is either too scared or too alone to do anything, sad truly.
Warhammer plus is alright, but only because it’s the only place to see new Warhammer content. All things considered it’s proven to be more of a lame bottleneck for content creators.
I dunno, most of what the youtube aniimators made were just space marines after space marines, which is possibly the most boring thing imaginable.
