Norsca desperately needs some new lords, new units and some life injected into them.
For sure. I love norsca as a roster, and I really don't think they are in as bad a place or as desperately in need of an updaylte as many. They need it but I think people get grossly overstate it. That said having only one generic lord type hurts them a ton. I really like the marauder pathfinder lord from SFO, a javelin skirmisher lord. That would do wonders for the roster.

Yeah they're boring, there's a lot of boring factions in Warhammer total war atm, desperately needs some new units in the rosters.

They might not have been _the_ reason Norsca won, but definitely _a_ reason: Almost 200 kills and over 1.5k damage value is really good for a 1k infantry unit.
Man, that potion of foolhardiness was clutch. I didn't notice it in game, but after watching the replay that definitely won it. You don’t often get to say that! Was a great game.
Ive noticed people tend to forget to fleshy abundance The Severed claw. They almost always have their 16 models so are pretty much prime targets to get full healed. And in this battle may have very well been the straw that broke the camel's back

The duality of this match up is always a pleasure to watch. So similar yet meaningfully different. Two very distinct takes on the same flavor. It always makes for an interesting match.
Indy has gotten so good and commentating on these battles, it makes it 10x better.
After playing TW:WH almost exclusively for many years, I am pretty burned out on playing it but these are still fun to watch!

Norsca isn’t in a bad place by any means, being the Big Punch faction works out for them in the hands of good players. Their biggest limit by far is the severe shortage of Lords, since that hampers their rosters quite a lot, and their specialist unit roster being a bit predictable for most factions. Frankly a single freeLC could shore them up plenty, and wouldn’t use many resources from CA compared to the big changes incoming for game 3 factions.
Norsca's roster is in a decent place, I suppose, but the fact that it's so small can be a problem. Most factions, if you don't particularly like a unit, you've got alternatives who can do something similar, but if a Norsca player doesn't enjoy Fimir, they have to do completely without AP anti-large(for example). It's not catastrophic, it's still fun... but there are definitely times I wish you could get Champs with Halberds, and I definitely wouldn't mind if ShirtWolves got a little more to differentiate them than just +armor, -speed.
It's really their campaign that's a mess. A homeland that is completely impossible to secure, with neighbors who declare war for the lulz, and a thematic of being seafarers and traders wasted by the fact that no one wants to trade with them. If you can grit your teeth through the early game hell, they'd be tons of fun later on(or would be, if their monster hunts weren't broken), but their complete lack of geographic security can make even lategame kind of a chore, since you have to hope you guessed right on where the crisis armies are going to come from. They're a great faction to fight against, but it feels like they really aren't as fleshed out beyond "WoC's lackeys" as they should be from a player perspective.
They need a campaign and economy overhaul, and if that comes with a little more roster diversity, so much the better.
It'd be cool if they got acsess to some of the new heroes too

@@grishy8203 I've actually found the complete opposite, monster cjarges feel waaaayyy bigger, you just need to use the proper charge attack (charging past units). The main issue I've found is units feel allot stickier, so charges that are not ideal are more limp
Its known that mammoths underperform, making them usseles in most of the situations
@grishy8203 you need to charge past the unite. WH3 has more unit mass than WH2.

Are there skinwolves in other parts of the warhammer world other than norsca?
@@gplr1882 There are some werewolves associated with Ulric. But I feel like they would be out of place on an empire roster.
Yeah, they are tribe of shapeshifters wolves that in the past were friends with the cult of ulric, but were betrayed by the last Ar-Ulric priest after they started hunting the shapeshifters. They are kinda respectable in number, and very cool, but they dont have a place for the current races, neither order or chaos, or destruction.
They appear in one of the first books of Gotrek and Felix novels, really interesting creatures

Well he would stumble the fuck around if he isnt well trained in either sport though. There is a reason why the UFC have fighters commentating since you kinda need the training in order to call out potential submissions and stuff before they happend
I Always thought Norsca should get a Non-Chaos aligned Norscan Lord, who borrows a few things from Kislev in WH3.
Or an Olrican; no shaman-sorcerers, trolls, or fimir, but Ice/Tempest casters and some new skinwolf variants to fill the gaps.
The fact I have fought even closer games then this is insane!

Just an interesting idea for a possible series to run, but I have no idea if this is possible in Multiplayer as I don't play it.
The game pauses every 30 seconds (Maybe longer) and commands can only be issued during this pause. The pause lasts for 30 seconds (Maybe shorter?) and then the chaos ensues. Could be interesting to see how predictive playing could be done, but again, don't know if this is possible at all.
Love the coverage of these as always, and I hope you enjoy covering as much as we enjoy watching.

I love norsca because either they destroy the enemy quickly or they get destroyed because of their usually low armor

Skin wolves are an amazing unit and the norsca rework should be focused around unique units like them frost trolls and mammoths with a reskin for all maurader units to be wearing more furs, leathers and some plate considering they live in a land of perpetual ice and snow, they shouldn't be half dressed. Norsca needs these things to stand out from the warriors of chaos. Werekin Lords should be a thing too and Harold Hammerstorm should have been in their roster also.

Unpopular opinion: there should be three unit sizes in TWWH: infantry, large (for units such as cavalry and monstruos infantry) and gigantic (for SEMs). That mammoth should have a bonus vs large, seeing how ridiculously dwarfed that Nurgle lord was while fighting it.
