I lost years of sound sleep because of the scene , as a kid. terrified a car would come flying through our house in the middle of the night. Pretty irrational. Our house was neither at the end of a street, cul-de-sac, much less in the middle of a desert highway. Lol.
This scene is still haunting. Those lights coming on in the distance behind her in the window. Terrifying
I think it also might of been the fake wood paneling in her living room.
"Sorry mam, your house was built on the street, so i'll have to drive through it..."😂

Kathleen Lloyd did a great acting job in the film.

The car is chasing her, she calls for help but she never looks outside where the car is! This was my indoctrination into stupid movie logic! Lol btw the movie was awesome and one of my favorites. I would love to have that horn.
Yes, I agree I would have been anywhere but in front of the window. I would have at least kept my eyes trained on it after all the wind ... Supposedly the horns used in the film were Twin Hadley Ambassador Rectangular Bell Horns 977N... But the Grover 1700 1748 would work too.....😁💜💜💜... I have a Cadillac with hi low horns that sound like The Car's but they are not air horns.....

What I find funny, is that the road leads straight to her house, stops, then continues after the back yard ...and there was a ramp out front to launch the car through the living room ... almost like the house was built in the middle of the street, not along it ... does anyone else see this incontinence?

The scariest scene for me was when the car trapped Wade in his garage.
Agree. Easily. If the rest of the movie was of the quality of this scene, it would have been worthy of George Barris' automobile artwork.
This was one of only a few made for TV movies from my childhood that really impressed me. At the time we had a 4 door Impala that to me seemed 20 ft long and as ugly as The Car.
