    This TF 2, looking better with age and it has understandably, a special corner in your rc heart!
    Furthermore, I would like to add, compliments for keeping the YT 'grind' going all these years.

    I love my leaf sprung TF2. It was a blast to drive at USTE until I lost a driveshaft pin. I know that pain. LOL. Even with Loctite they seem to work loose. As long as you keep making videos, I'll keep watching them. Thanks Josh.

    • @tomlucasrccrawlers9108
      @tomlucasrccrawlers9108 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed. 2-3 inches of flex is all it needs. Years ago I was shooting for the moon and had over 4 inches of flex. These days I just want it really fun, capable and scale.

    I ended up using the crazy crawler 116x40 HD foams. But still can't put more than 5lbs on them because if the lack of sidewall as mentioned. I've even ran the 116x40 crazy crawler WP magic in them before. Holds their shape perfectly but no flex. Lol. Nothing is the perfect foam for this tire..🙄

    What sized shocks are on this truck? 90 mm? I’m still running the stock shocks after linking the truck. I like it a lot better linked. Previous owner messed up the links so I did what I know and swapped to links.

    • @RCeveryday

      It’s been a while but I think the proline shocks were 100mm. I have the gelande2 front shock hoops to keep it down.

    Have you ever found someone that makes plastic inner fenders for the TF2 with the bigger shock hoops? and still clears the body ok? Would really help me keep the snow from clogging up my rig.

      @sweetmammoth7067 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KearSki I did try a set of them, but they really didn't last long when I was taking the body off all the time. I was thinking maybe gluing two sets together for strength? Not sure.
      Also been looking at possibly just making some out of styrene, but the local place has none in stock.

    • @KearSki
      @KearSki 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sweetmammoth7067 If you're looking for cheap and durable, I know some people have made them out of cans and plastic fast food drink cups. but yeah, one thing I did was over trim them a little so they rubbed the body a lot less, it caused a bit of gap but it has helped durability. Also there are some good plastics retailers on Ebay, I've gotten phonebook sized stacks of Styrene for around 20 dollars before

  • @KearSki
    @KearSki 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Watching toward the end, yeah brand new TF2s preform rather poorly out of the box for those first couple drives, but when I first got my LWB I knew to expect nothing much in performance terms, but I never wanted very much, I wanted something scale and it fit the bill. currently it has a lot of available flex as I've "carefully" modified the leaf springs, shackles and geometry and I ended up liking the leaf spring driving so much that I ended up getting the conversion for my G2! After all, if I want high performance I've got a box stock SCX2 honcho now. but it's good to see this rig! I love the weld line where you bobbed the bed, I've seen a lotta real yotas that look just like that

      most everything on the tf2 is metal on metal. without some kind of thread lock it happens. This one was in my rooftop cargo box for a 2300 mile trip so it showed me where I didn’t have any😂 they are my favorite chassis still. the other 3 I had didn’t have anything come loose on the ride either.

    That's so funny you happened say something about those plastic Tamiya shocks never leaking. Bc I was just talking about this with a buddy yesterday.
    He was pissed bc his "top of line" as he put it, Super scale shocks dumped all their oil less in than a month and the cheap plastic Tamiya C.V.A shocks I built 7 almost 8 years ago still have the same oil they did when I built them. 😆
    They're not the most scale or prettiest looking shocks you'll ever see but, I have to hand it to Tamiya, they do last and they work great for the price.
