Balogar, the Runeblade can be a pretty tough boss if you don't have the items!
That's why you should equip "Wakeful Stone" to all of your characters and "Conscious Stone" on your healer!
This alone make the fight really easy.
You can also use Alfyn, he can remove "Sleep" to all characters.
Team I used :
Cyrus (Scholar/Sorcerer)
Ophilia (Cleric/Dancer)
Therion (Thief/Cleric)
Olberic (Warrior/Hunter)
I won't lie the Sorcerer class also helped me a lot :)

Um where can i find these wakeful stones and Unconscious stones at? I looked all over and i can't find one of them.

Wow im proud of myself for beating this guy without those 3rd sub classes and i forgot to get a character to summon.. this is my 1st unlocked of the 3rd sub classes, most challenge ive had.. really was fun

I don't know if people still have a hard time beating this but here's how I did it, it isn't a strategy as I went in without knowing what the fight would be like
I used h'aanit(thief) & Therion (hunter) and spammed equipped with bows that blind ennemies, then I spammed arrain raining skill that hits 5 to 8 times I guess, mf spent the fight with 9 turns of being blind and missed MOST of his attacks, just had to debuff him and hit him here and there and you were done + it also BREAK, good luck, be sure that you can tank his AOE attack as he will sometimes be able to hit you even though he's blinded
i fought him twice, got him down to about 40k each times and got stomped, after that i went exploring and i found the sorcerer shrine as well as the warmonger.
I also got my 4 mains to 60+, im looking forward to coming back to this one.
There’s a tactic I always take advantage of when facing this guy without any of the advanced classes. So, you’re gonna need a hunter for Rain of Arrows and of course Leghold Trap. My go to for this would be Apothecary H’aanit, because she has great sustainability and with the passive skill Incidental Attack from Thief, you can get an axe or bow attack after Leghold Trap AND Empoison. For the Runestorm AOE stage, I highly suggest having a merchant ready with Hired Help skill unlocked and used 3x boosted Dancer because it is a dagger attack (runeblade weakness) AND it can heavily drop Balogar’s accuracy, so you have a higher chance of surviving after a break. Also, Thief’s Shackle Foe is also a great help further icrease chances of surviving. For everything else, make sure you have a scholar for damage, and for the merchant class, make sure to take advantage of the Sidestep + Incite skill (warrior) for earlier parts of this fight. Hope this helped for anyone who doesn’t have any advanced classes unlocked yet.

The best advance job to start is with sorcerer...
Then you can get starseer,
The runelord and finally warbringer...
some tricks in the abilities you can use to really make the fight on your side its the key

I finally defeated that boss. Must say that I am impressed, so far the game really didn't really offered a challenge to me until Redeye and even then he wasn't super hard. For this boss, I recommend using someone from the hunter class for breaking him/her easily, Cleric to heal and deal light damage, a Dancer to spam moul dance or rehabilitation to defend yourself and when doing so, do not waste time to boost your Teams defense, because the boss can one kill you easily if your aren't well guarded.

Where did you get the four wakeful stones? I've been searching for two more for a while and I can't find them. I'm in chapter 3 by the way.
Sorry I don't remember where I got all the wakeful stones, I remember one was inside a chest in the Secret Path in Frostlands. However you can deal with this boss by using Alfyn and his potions he can mass dispell, very useful.
Thanks, I'll poke around some more towns to see if i can find the two i'm missing and if I can't then i'll just use Alfyn.

Well it seems to me that most of your attacks were from your sorcerer abalities. Where do you get that from?
Hi I was just wondering, is the shrine of the runeblade the best place to start the 4 second jobs at. I am at a 60+ level and seem to be having trouble at all 4 locations. I have none of these 4 second jobs. If someone can tell me if this area is the best to start at or one of the other 3. Thank you and would appreciate any advice.
Its honestly dependent on what your main protag is for me for example my protag is cyrus so it made sense for me to dreisang first. Besides, the elemental weaknesses from the other 3 bosses are pretty abusable on the elemental side so it makes breaking easier. Sorry for making you wait 3 weeks lol
@@boldknock7436 Oh thank you anyway, I appreciate you getting back to me. I finally got all 4 of those jobs. Lol and it was a task and a half🤗😁. Still having a very tough time killing that large wolf in the woods side quest ( scary Sheep something). Dear God every time I kill one of the smaller wolves, they end up coming back with more of them. Lol hopefully one of these days..ugh. 🙏🙏🙏
I started at the Shrine of the Archmagus. The strategy is to use the dancer’s ultimate move on a cleric, and then use the reflective spell. In addition, have all the characters equip the saving grace skill and heal to max. Have a Hunter/apothecary use leghold trap and poison.
Then go to the Shrine of the Starseer and use the same strategy. To make it easier, I had 2 clerics, one being a merchant. Also, Dohter’s Charity is very useful for BP gain.
It's the hardest but once you get it, you can CHEESE Warlord, like warlord can't do shit against you, then you the other two are starseer which can be tough because she debuff and inflicts a lot of status and also buff herself, the magician one isn't that hard
Runelord works the best if your team has a high magic damage....so no hunters, warlords, rogues and so on.
I beat all of the Shrine bosses with ease using leghold trap, having a hunter is very useful.
Uhm you can just spam arrows so hunters are kinda useful there.

But not the magic of the runelord...
The magic that your user weapon has and the overall magic is what gives the power
What do you all have on cyrus? He is doing mad damage
A staff that gives +300 Elemental Attack, necklace +100 Elemental Attack + Sorcerer Job (Passives skills are OP)
You can find that staff in the Archmagus Shrine or steal it/buy it from a npc in Goldshore
What does Incite do for Olberic? It looks like a dud skill
Makes him more likely to be hit over other characters

Who should I start as
I started with Sorcerer, Runelord then Warmaster
Starseer is the easiest so it doesn't really matter

Level aren't important, Sorcerer makes the fight easier with triple break (I suggest you to beat the Archmagus first to get this job).
Also Wakeful Stones on my team and one Conscious Stone on my healer really helped me (If you don't have these stones I recommend you to take Alfyn for this fight)
Where did you find the three wakeful stones? I've been looking for two more for a while and can't find any more. I'm in chapter 3 if that matters.
