Say what you like about the XIII Trilogy (I love them, personally, XIII-2's my favourite 'modern' FF game), but there's no denying that these games were always visually insane for their time, they still hold up today.
Of course. Square Enix is superb in all categories except writing. Their devs, musicians, artists are all master class. They just have no luck with actually skilled writers/directors. Which is insane because Japan is full to the brim with brilliant writers.
As an artist and comic book creator, character design, world building, and background/landscape designs are essential in authenticating a world and story. FF has always been immersive to me. FFXIII-2 is one of my favorites, it was very...magical

Why not? Compared to the primitive 3D graphics from the PlayStation 1 or Nintendo 64, the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 while using HDMI can do some extremely complex 3D graphics that can still be a technical and artistic marvel today.
The sound tracks of this game is a top 10. All the other games from finals fantasy xiii trilogy to the old generation of the legend of zelda have beautiful songs

XIII was the last mainline Final Fantasy that really felt aesthetically Final Fantasy. The departure of the lead environmental designer who'd been with Square since FF7 after 15's release probably had something to do with that.

watching this video, realizing it came out back in 2011 I can't stop thinking about how the game engine managed to handle everything. My best guess, it is using a lot of Occlusion Culling method to reduce hardware usage. Basically un-render objects that's not visible to player's camera
Well look at the average city. You typically walk through roads and corridors until you enter buildings. And even in buildings, there are a lot of corridors and stairways. So, it's not really too unrealistic if you look at it like that, wouldn't you say?
it would be nice if only hk is few percent as gd as this :p but ive some sort of height fear and id probably pass out on the sight of walking through these roads bc theres no fences lol
There may be differences depending on the person. Personally, I think the artwork and design are the best since 7, in contrast to the unfortunate gameplay of 13.

16 is not amazing looking even by ps4 standards there are better looking games, when it comes to the art IDK 16 has uninspired character designs but some of the locations are nice looking

FF13 was a masterpiece, 13 x2 had great music but worse story nd character development, Lightning Returns was complete shit technically nd the gameplay was pretty useless nd waste of time. I really hope to revist a new itteration of FF13 where the story progress futher, definitely not waiting for remakes.

FF7 remake chungs this game on that department but yeah, for being a PS3 game it looks very well today.

・折角タイムパラドックスがテーマなんだから、ヒストリアクロスと時間の要素がもっと活かせたんじゃねえかっていうのと
・ストーリーをもっと掘り下げられたんじゃないか
っていうこと
ヴァイルピークスだとか大平原とかヲルバ鄕がおまけ要素なのも勿体無いし、
多少テンポが悪くても、もっと進行手順を複雑化して良かったと思ってる
「AF400年で◯◯するにはAF100年とAF200年でフラグを踏まないといけない」的なパズル要素だとか
「AF200年で選んだフラグによりAF400年のシナリオは分岐する」
的な感じでヒストリアクロスに択一的で遡及不能な分岐を入れても良かったと思うんだ
時間を活かして攻略する要素が4XX年の新都アカデミアで受けれるクリスタル集めってだけなのも味気ないじゃん
折角タイムパラドックスがテーマなんだから、AF700年のネオ・ボーダムにたどり着くことを他のバッドルートで盛り上げて欲しかったんだ
例えば
・ヴァイルピークスでライトニングの幻影に会って
・アガスティアタワーでホープにメッセージを伝えて

・ヲルバ鄕でモーグリのフラグ回収しきって
そうするとAF700年のネオ・ボーダムにたどり着ける
→どれか欠けてると
死に行く世界でエンディングになったり、AF4XX年のアカデミアでエンディングになったりみたいな
そういう要素が欲しかったんだ

もっとちゃんと時間が複雑に絡み合って欲しかったんだ。プレイヤーが関与できる形で。
