Hey thanks this helped me. There is a passive from the Hunter ability that if you equip it you can go first usually. Then use the Warrior Skill that attacks multiple times with a Spear and have something with good accuracy and you can stun him before he debuffs you.
I think it's crazy how nobody bothers with Alfyn in this fight. He would be the best one to provide BP for everyone and healing and everything else really.
Worked perfectly, thanks. For those having trouble, make sure you: 1. Break him before he can attack first. 2. Stack BP accordingly. 3. Use seduction on whomever will be casting reflect. 4. Cast reflect. From there it’s just BP management and rinse/repeat of steps 3 and 4. Watching the video to know which set of vulnerable skills the boss is on helps with breaking.
Whoever disliked this is just jealous. I literally just got done with him but I didn't have this awesome strat. My battle felt rewarding. He was my first of the secret bosses that I took down and surprisingly on my 1st try of 2nd playthrough. I took his spells but only because I had that Cleric skill that allows you to heal above your HP and kept my HP high at all times. Aghhh... if only I'd had this awesome strat
I have tought this strategy, but too lazy to think about the sequence. This video really helps. Also if people still ask if the strategy works? It does, don't let the boss give you the debuff, one of those debuff seems to restrict skill to one target, You need to break him and give your dancer and cleric BP for the Divine skill and reflect. I did think its been patched first, or it just primrose only benefit, but it's neither. I defeat it too easily. Didn't even did damage to me, Nor I did much damage to the boss. The boss kill itself.
It would be easier if you join alfyn to a group using his concoct to all member with purifying dust and essence of pomegranate so you don't have to use a single item pomegranate My team was; Cyrus -cleric Ophelia -warrior Primrose -scholar Alfyn -merchant
I used a completely different strategy with the use of Leghold Trap and focusing on his weaknesses and just breaking him before he gets to attack, then heal my whole team to full health with Heal More from Cleric once he attacks after breaking, and defeated him in at least three tries with it (trying to figure his weaknesses in the first two attempts). Didn't even bother with Reflective Veil because I didn't know you can cast it to whole party members with the use of Dancer's Divine Skill.
I felt like I did this exact strategy, but the bastard keeps using divine majesty in the fight. How do I prevent him from using this skill? Break his shield? I have no clue :(
I was able to defeat him last night! I recommend stacking reflective veil to +9, as well as stacking up saving grace. If you do this you'll be able to reflect about 2 1/2 turns of Dreisang's elemental attacks, but you'll have enough health (ideally around 5-7k) that getting hit a couple times won't cripple you or bring you close to death. Just keep stacking reflective veil to 9, as well as making sure Primrose has enough BP to use her divine skill when hers runs out. Then just simply reapply reflective veil. It can be tricky, but this strategy seems to be the best.
Took me a few tries but it worked! I found that if he does divine majesty, you can just keep breaking his shields and holding out by preparing BP and stuff to buff up right after the 5 turns end. Taking off the armor helps to restart battles and optimize your sub skill equips particularly for this battle too. I ran a similar set up, just one cleric, one dancer, one apothecary/merchant and one hunter. I used the hunter to debuff with leg hold trap and use items, I used the merchant to emposion and donate BP / heal, and and the cleric and dancer served the same purpose. All can break shields really well and just in case make primrose wear armor with speed so that she can buff first before cyrus or whoever your cleric is.
100% agree with this user. If the Archmagus starts the turn (sadly, but possible) with Divine Majesty, you must focus on gearing-up and breaking his shield. That's how i was able to win his battle and i had a rough start too XD
@@tolontolon5538 i just did the fight. Somehow my scholar primrose and merchant olberic managed to go first without any support skills that could cause them to do that. Odd. I guess its a random chance thing. Healing is good and all but i feel that eventually it becomes 90% healing and 10% damaging.
I don't know if this is still relevant to you or if you've found him, but the summon guy he used was a guard in the tavern of Riverford. His ability is Drunken Blade, is strength 10, and can be summoned 4 times. He is the guard on the right.
All my people are level 60 and have really good equipment, yet I can't do this boss, even while trying to follow this guide. My people never go in the right order.....
I used the hability in order to give my caracter the possibility of use his habilities on everyone but it didn't work, just used it on himself. What happened?

if u are newbie, u can do normal way. reach character lvl 45-50 use character who can break axe, sword , arrow buy all item on the village (elemental defense) if u cant break the boss, 90% will fail im already done without dancer and cleric skill

Using the dancer's divine skill on the cleric allows for spells that normally can only target one person will effect the whole party. However, the archmagus has a skill that would dispel any status buffs so I suggest using it as early as possible if your planning to use this strategy.
Ari Ri thank you, I was wondering because I kept retrying to cast the reflecting veil on all my characters one by one. He kept one shoting me and I got really triggerd, I just made level 43 haanit and learned her divine skill
Heh checked this AFTER actually beating him with the same strategy. Albeit, I had Alfyn (dancer), Tressa (thief), Therion (apothecary) and Ophilia (merchant), I had both Ophilia and Tressa trading BPs back and forth to boost the required members. Therion, whenever was full in BP, did the Empoison skill, to which Dreisang is very susceptible (adds about 1.7k damage per turn) and sometimes when I had enough BPs I used Tressa with Hired Help, and hired dancers, which poisons and blinds the enemy (works like a charm). Last add-on to this was mixing in Aelfric's Auspices for Ophilia, use some pomegranate, and then have Reflective Veil trigger on everyone *twice* at full boost, for a whopping +8 reflections. Dreisang basically suicided himself! OH and for good measure, at the very end of the battle, I tried doing a Bewildering Grace to try and get XP and JP boosts, but it ended up not working, sadly! (careful not outing yourself with this tho)

@@thetntman9007 i think you may be misunderstanding what I am saying. This dude has a debuff that he applies that make magical effects not work on all party members, so if that debuff is active, the reflected veil only applies to the caster instead of the entire group

Yes, this boss casts us debuffs to disallow buff to reflect boss's spell. So we must make this boss break in first 2 actions. It depends on luck if we can get first 2 action.
I managed to defeat him by force with a team consisting of Lv30 Tressa, Alfyn and Ophilia + lv 37 Cyrus. I didn't have any divine skills and I didn't want to farm 4k job points to get it, so I just went full yolo. Took 5 tries, first try I gor wiped almost instantly, the second try I gor him to 40%, then he obliterated me with the maximus versions of his skills. 3rd and 4th try were testing runs for other strategies and then I best him in my 4th try. Tressa was a BP battery 90% of the time and then my main damage dealer once I broke him with the Viper dagger, Cleric Alfyn and ophilia spent all fight taking turns healing the party, reviving Cyrus or Tressa and spamming sheltering Veils whenever possible. If they had nothing to do, i used energizkng pomegranate with Ophilia/ BP concoction or Empoison with Alfyn. Saving grace was the MVP since I only needed to worry about Tressa and Cyrus, and if one of Algyn or Ophilia died I could just use an Olive of Life to get them to 9999/2k or 3k HP, tank a turn to get BP and use Revive to revive everyone and get them to max HP instantly. The most entertaining fight yet in my save, now running sorc Cyrus before Chapter 3.
Yes works, you just have to be lucky on the beginning and break his shield before his first action (Divine Majesty: Prevents the party from using status enhancements and buffs for 5 turns, and lowers the party’s physical atk. and elemental atk. for 4 turns. Used at the start of battle and at 25% health.) this fight is kinda disappointing, so god damn easy 171k life boss
@@sr_gustavo1 I can assure you it does not work anymore or I am just very unlucky. Let me break it down, even if you break the boss on first turn he would still cast Divine majesty on 4th or 5th turn.
I almost beat archmagus boss fight but the boss beats me when its about to die. it does this attack that wipes out my whole party. Have to gain more level. my party is level 77.
Game room of HAL I mostly had shield on 2 characters but that's pretty much it granted saving grace helped a lot (Also doesn't hurt the fact that 3 of my characters were over lvl 60).
As you showed in the video, all the characters are not equipped with weapons and armor, so even if the character attacks the boss they can hardly do damage. Therefore, they were defending.

This strategy made him so easy to beat. I literally killed him without losing any HP unlike my previous attempts where I was obliterated in 1 turn lol

The most important thing in this strategy is to break boss's shield within the first 2 turn. If you realize it, you can keep continuing Reflect Veil:D

On his first attack, he uses a skill that negates buffs. You have to break him first.

Thanks. Used this strategy and put him down quite easily. Doing it ''legit'' is very difficult, as his aoe spells are very tough to deal with
That ability doesn't do that anymore it targets foes

What Joe said. If he gets a turn, he will put a five turn debuff that prevents you buffing your team.

It's not just you. They changed it and now this video isn't useful for us.
The boss give debuff that it won't work, don't let him debuff you.

Maybe you were cast debuff magic with Dreisang on the first turn. So you should break the shield of the boss on the first 2 turn.

I used a subjob Dancer, and it doesn't seem to have the "Affect All" buff. Does it specifically require Primrose to do it?
The subjob of Dancer is also OK! Other characters can master "Affect All".

d4bidden I doubt that the debuffs are missable, but you could potentially delay it and do the setup if you were able to break him on Turn 1.
Yes, this boss casts us debuffs to disallow buff to reflect boss's spell. So we must make this boss break in first 2 actions. It depends on luck if we can get first 2 action.

I think you should get a Break of the boss with many challenge at the first 2 turns of the battle.

I managed to defeat him by force with a team consisting of Lv30 Tressa, Alfyn and Ophilia + lv 37 Cyrus. I didn't have any divine skills and I didn't want to farm 4k job points to get it, so I just went full yolo. Took 5 tries, first try I gor wiped almost instantly, the second try I gor him to 40%, then he obliterated me with the maximus versions of his skills. 3rd and 4th try were testing runs for other strategies and then I best him in my 4th try. Tressa was a BP battery 90% of the time and then my main damage dealer once I broke him with the Viper dagger, Cleric Alfyn and ophilia spent all fight taking turns healing the party, reviving Cyrus or Tressa and spamming sheltering Veils whenever possible. If they had nothing to do, i used energizkng pomegranate with Ophilia/ BP concoction or Empoison with Alfyn. Saving grace was the MVP since I only needed to worry about Tressa and Cyrus, and if one of Algyn or Ophilia died I could just use an Olive of Life to get them to 9999/2k or 3k HP, tank a turn to get BP and use Revive to revive everyone and get them to max HP instantly.
The most entertaining fight yet in my save, now running sorc Cyrus before Chapter 3.

Yes works, you just have to be lucky on the beginning and break his shield before his first action (Divine Majesty: Prevents the party from using status enhancements and buffs for 5 turns, and lowers the party’s physical atk. and elemental atk. for 4 turns. Used at the start of battle and at 25% health.) this fight is kinda disappointing, so god damn easy 171k life boss
@@sr_gustavo1 I can assure you it does not work anymore or I am just very unlucky. Let me break it down, even if you break the boss on first turn he would still cast Divine majesty on 4th or 5th turn.

Good strategy, however u make it seem easy
I almost beat archmagus boss fight but the boss beats me when its about to die. it does this attack that wipes out my whole party. Have to gain more level. my party is level 77.
You can actually beat the whole game with proper strategy and equipments with only around Lv.30

Kinda glad I beat him without this strat granted I tried it but it failed horribly, still won though.

Game room of HAL I mostly had shield on 2 characters but that's pretty much it granted saving grace helped a lot (Also doesn't hurt the fact that 3 of my characters were over lvl 60).
My highest character olberic is level 70, Cyrus level 69, therion 67 & the rest at level 45 and I still can’t beat him...

Are you not attacking just for show.....seems odd? Why defend every turn and not atleast auto attack or cast spells?
As you showed in the video, all the characters are not equipped with weapons and armor, so even if the character attacks the boss they can hardly do damage. Therefore, they were defending.
