Like how Giovanni evolved his Rhydon into Rhyperior. I can see Gheetis evolving his Bisharp into Kingambit and of course using ability capsule to change its ability into Supreme Overlord makes sense because both Gheetis and Kingambit are leaders.

Ghetsis may not have been the most powerful villain in the franchise but without a doubt he will always be remembered as the most evil one, I still remember how impressed I was when in B/W 2 he literally tries to kill the main character, I certainly did not expect that😵
But even so, I still remember struggling quite a bit with that fight back in the day, definitely a memorable adversary.

He was indeed. I remember the first time I faced him with the mons I had and I never stood a chance. He beat me a LOT until I ‘cheated’ by having my friend trade me his level 60 Reshiram. I’d take on the Playthrough with new teams I wanted to use a few more times until I beat him much more consistently. His Ultra Moon battle was a challenge, but I was glad I could beat him back then. He doesn’t torment me as much as he did back then, but he enrages me a lot more. I’ll dearly look forward to facing him in the Gen 5 Remakes.

I think that the reason why Ghetsis has an underleveled Hydreigon is because BW1’s level curve is less steep compared to other games, so it would’ve been bad game design if you just fought a bunch of Level 50 mons but then Ghetsis throws out a Level 64 Hydreigon. Maybe they could have solved this by spacing out the mid-game gyms a bit more to at least raise the level curve so that Ghetsis could have a Level 64 Hydreigon.

Also, I just recall the old theory that Ghetsis was planning to kill N since he has Cofagrigus to bait for Zoroark and his ace counters everything on N's team in the original games. And then in Ultra, he quite possibly did, since he has N's Dragon. (You know how serial killers take possessions from their victims? That's the vibe I get with him having N's Dragon. It's a trophy.)

Here's how I rank em. Haven't played SV yet so they aren't included:
    Rainbow Giovanni
    The other Rainbow team leaders
    Cyrus
    Ghetsis
    Giovanni
    Lysander
    Lusamine
    Archie and Maxie
    Rose
Rose is by far the weakest. He is a worse Lusamine. He runs a company and has a tough team, but he never personally achieves ultimate power. He is incompetent.
Archie and Maxie are effectively tied, though Archie is a bit more antagonistic than Maxie. Once they awaken the Legendaries, they almost immediately repent and try to help stop things. Their terrorist groups, while imposing, end up falling flat, and their overall goals seem pretty short-sighted and silly.
The Aether Foundation is not really evil, they're just the bad guys. Most of their employees seem to be decent people, but just follow orders. Lusamine is both tough and unhinged and makes a great villain.. in regular Sun and Moon. She also actually achieves her goal.
Lysander and Team Flare are inferior versions of Team Galactic and I just can't take them seriously. However, Lysander himself is tough and comes pretty close to accidentally destroying life on the planet.
Giovanni is the OG villain and gets a lot of nostalgia points. He's also legitimately threatening, and Team Rocket serves well as a mafia-style organization that actively wants to steal, injure, and even kill. In-game however, their actual goals are a bit of a mystery. I'm not even going to rank Archer in this list because his goal of bringing back Giovanni is really lame, even if they do successfully shut down a second major city. They're the only group to do so.
Ghetsis is tough and clearly evil. Team Plasma is a threat, hiding behind altruism. They're also the first bad guys who actually make you stop and think about their goals, or at least their alleged goals. Though he does ultimately try to enslave Kyurem, his lack of interest in the other dragons is kind of galling, and his disinterest in revealing himself as the mastermind hurts him in the end.
Cyrus and Team Galactic are by far the most dangerous and successful group in any of the games. They pull off several notable incidents, blow up two lakes, capture the Lake Trio, and enslave the cover legends. Cyrus himself is very strong, and his goal of rewriting reality is very threatening, and he comes very close to doing it.
Mechanically speaking, the AU "Rainbow" versions of the team leaders are the strongest versions of those characters. Versions who actually WON in their universe.
But they are all bossed around and controlled by Rainbow Giovanni, who put together Rainbow Rocket. That's pretty impressive, having a criminal organization that can CONQUER WORLDS AND TRAVEL TO OTHER REALITIES. Also, he has Mega Mewtwo.

I always think it's funny people saying they were under-leveled with any of the champion fights or villain leaders. I've been playing Pokemon since Yellow and never once had that issue. If anything my Pokemon were always over-leveled. The only exception I guess was training for Red. Hahah I grinded for hours for that, and in Johto, it was so hard to level up your Pokemon at the time. Still it wasn't that hard to level up if you knew what you were doing. I feel like I have an explanation behind underleveled evolved Pokémon. You know how in sun and moon you can get an underleveled Salamance that’s level 4 or something? What if Ghetsis just caught the Hyedriegon when it was underleveled to begin with? That certainly explains how Hydreigon could theoretically be that level.

I would rank Ghetsis in the top 5, maybe around number 5 or 4... If we look at the most challenging villain fights, from my perspective, they are Ghetsis, Volo, Cyrus, N, and Guzma (or Rainbow Rocket Giovanni, who does use a Mega Mewtwo), my ranking would go 5. Guzma, 4. Ghetsis, 3. Cyrus, 2. N, and 1. Volo. If we include Rainbow Rocket Giovanni, then put him at 3, and Cyrus at 5.

Ghetsis' team nearly perfectly counters Cynthia's BW1 team in Undella Town.
Every Pokémon of hers is countered by one of his. Those he can't guarantee a win against is accounted for in some either very common strategy or a very uncommon BS strategy.
Even then, it also counters Alder's team. And Lance. And Steven. And Wallace.
Ghetsis planned to not only defeat N, but any and every champion at the time that could thwart his plans.
His team was built to literally take down every possible champion in the series at the time of Gen 5. He was so prepared that he actually thought ahead for the inevitability that other regions' champions would also try to stop him.
So, ignoring levels, he rivals champion teams

Unlikely to be overleveled when facing him? I was like ten levels higher than anything he threw at me and he only managed to knock out one of my Pokémon (ironically, the Vanillite I'd trained to take on Hydreigon).
Also, Ghetsis wasn't insane in the first game. He was just evil, and so overconfident that he literally had no concept he could lose. He didn't lose his sanity until after that.

Ghetsis is the most evil, most vile, and most unsympathetic villain in all of Pokémon. He uses the mass’s ignorance to manipulate them, he abuses his adopted son to be able take over the world, and he attempts to kill two people: the protagonist of B2W2 and Lillie in USUM. If the developers went far enough with him he could’ve made Gen 5 rated T

    • @BJGvideos
      @BJGvideos ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yeah if the AIs can be considered villains would have to hinge on how much free will they originally had when the professor was alive. Did they willingly go along with these plans at any point? Did they only come to realize how destructive it would be after the professor had already died? Or did they resist the plan during their creators' life and were tied to the PPP as punishment? We're not given a time frame for a lot of this, nor any information as to what things were like between them.
Because during the events of the game, the AI is a precious bean who deserves much better than they got. But we know almost nothing about the events prior to that.

I'm sorry but Ghetsis compared to a loy of evil villains is terrifying to me. More than Lysander's plan to basically whipe out human life, see that just seems like thrown together but the way they did Ghetsis, if i met this man in real lfie I'd be scared out of my mind. So definitely the most evil of them all. And most powerful cause his time has been the only team i struggle against constantly no matter what.

I think his team was one of the most well-rounded out of the evil team leaders at that time. But I think it is hilarious that a manipulative person like him has such a brute force approach. Also, considering his weakness to fighting types, using his only counter to them as a starter is very questionable. Hydreigon as an ace is very good, though.

Giovanni still has a code of honor and (at least according to Masters) is shown to be proud of Silver, despite also being a terrible parent.
I'd even go as far as to say he's worse than Lysandre or Cyrus and they basically both tried for genocide. (They're more tragic villains and doing what they feel is best for the world.)
The only one who comes close to being as pure a sociopath is Volo, but it doesn't really hit as hard when it's stuffed into the last 10min of the game, when we have a lot of interactions with Ghetsis to see how much of a bastard he is.

    • @KitomiKotiri

@@13CrystalHeart well it's also implied that Volo changed afterwards like giratina in the pokedex but in different ways he passes down the story or something either way he changes after not completely good but became a slightly better person afterwards unlike Ghetsis and Cyrus had a Crobat and also in platinum apparently liked giratina's world so was fine with that and Lysander also gave the player the option to stop the weapon but that admin/scientist (whatever he was) had other plans

Imo Ghetsis was underwhelming as a league champion, but he's much more memorable than the likes of Archie/Maxie 2 in Emerald for example because of how well constructed his team was by comparison.
I don't think he lives up to Steven Stone though, at least not in raw power. His cunning and immorality was what made him such a great character, and made Giovanni seem like a nice guy by comparison. Maybe some more gimmicks could've translated that better into him as a trainer but I had a harder time *getting to* him than I did *actually beating* him when I played BW and in the second games he was *even easier*

"Is Ghetsis The STRONGEST Pokemon Evil Team Leader?" ****YES.****
I am convinced that he is the sole reason (that has nothing to do with Smogon, anyway...) why the Fairy type even exists, and that it's not a coincidence that Hydreigon, a Pokémon that actually out-uglied Whitney's Miltank by an Unova mile in B1/W1, is 4× weak to the type. Thanks to the Fairy type, I was able to snap his Hydreigon's neck like a twig in Ultra Moon!

it just occurred to me: like father like son.
N's Zoroark has Night Slash, which can deal with Cofagrigus, Flamethrower for Bisharp, and Focus Blast for Bisharp, Bouffalant and Hydreigon.
this mon, if it's lucky enough to pull it off, can take care of 4 out 6 of Ghetsis' mons.
on the flip side, Ghetsis' Hydreigon has Dragon Pulse to deal with the legendary dragon, Surf deals with Archeops, Fire Blast destroys Vanilluxe and Klinklang, and Focus Blast takes care of Carracosta, Vanilluxe, Klinklang and Zoroark.
their teams are mostly weak to Fighting, and their MVP is a Dark type with Focus Blast which, provided it doesn't miss, deals with basically half of the other's team.
see what i mean by like father like son?
