- Last week we wrapped up ranking the last of the gym leaders. But we still have another challenge in our way, and that of course has to be the evil team leaders. Their dastardly deeds drive the story of every Pokemon game so they need to be ranked too; at least in terms of how hard they are to battle. Which one is the baddest guy? Guess you'll just have to watch and find out! DUH!

Using the Rainbow Rocket teams kinda feels like an unfair ranking system, I think a better way to rate them would have been their final team in the last battle you have with them in their respective game. I say this because Lusamine and Guzma will now be stuck at the bottom since every other team leader has access to a mascot legendary.
Yeah i feal like this was done specifically for geovoni as he's easily the easiest evils team leader to beat especially if you started with blastoise pr trained lapras as a wayer type solos him 😆

-finally that underleveled hydreigon with a varied moveset
To me, it will always be B&W Ghetsis... His Hydreigon one-shot everything on my team including my new legendary. I only scraped by thanks to a revive on my Leavanny and a missed fire blast. Of course, this was before the fairy type existed.
Ghetsis sure has gotten the short end of the stick, while all the other evil team leaders final battle in the games they're individually introduced in were arguably there worst final team as they have better teams in remixes and such, Ghetsis's team get slightly worse the more you run into him.....
I had the same problem last year when I replayed White. Ghetsis' Hydreigon wiped out my entire team (I actually lost the battle and had to heal and rematch). Although to be fair, I thought it was weak to fighting, but dragon knocked that out.
Another problem with Ghetsis is you don't have a chance to heal after defeating N. So you therefore have a good chance of fighting Ghetsis with a team that is not at full health.
Ghetsis basically takes the place of the 2nd Champion as you can only battle Alder on the rematch
@@andrewkatz5689 N auto heals you before Ghetsis, but you can't change team layout and will most likely have your legerndary out front still. I only beat him by barely knocking him out with leavany x-sizor and zekrom dragon breath, or garvantula electroweb
if you bring a Haxorus and use one of Ghetsis's other pokemon as setup fodder and use dragon dance at least once you can easily sweep the entire team and if you bring a Lilligant and use quiver dance 2 or 3 times you can have the same results or just bring a Samurott and megahorn and blizzard his Hydreigon
I think Ghetsis is. His Hydreigon is underleveled, meaning it has all the base stats already, at level 54.

Ya ghetsis in black and white was considered one of the hardest battles in all the core games. Imagine a nuzlocke vs him.

I feel like Guzma was judged unfairly, he can be rematched once outside of the battle tower with a much stronger team than in the battle before Lusamine, with that in mind Lusamine should be the weakest and Guzma second weakest

Was just gonna comment this but sames. Should've been chosen based off their respective games cause any other game shouldn't count cause they aren't the main baddy or ultimate challenge you have to face.

This pretty much means Lusamine and Guzma will be at the bottom since all the other team leaders get a box legendary. Otherwise I think Lusamine would have stomped (no pun intended) Maxie and Archie's teams...even with having mega evolution. Hell Guzma could have even beat Maxie since 3/4 of his team are weak to Vikavolt.
For me Ghetsis is the hardest. He absolutely destroyed my entire team several times with that Hydreigon before I finally beat him. That thing basically has complete coverage over all it's weaknesses. Insane.
Man they did Ghetsis dirty, using their Rainbow Rocket teams buffs all the leaders except Ghetsis's, who's Rainbow Rocket I would consider equal in not worse then his BW team or even his B2W2 team because he loses having a full team of six, so much coverage, and held items just for what isn't even one of the competitively better legendaries.....
It also bothers me because his plan was never to use either Reshiram or Zekrom himself, but for N to rule using that Pokemon as his ally. If anything, he should have used Kyurem since his B2W2 plan actually involved that Pokemon.

I think it was worse than both of his other teams, because the move sets got a huge downgrade. The fact his hydreigon has a life orb made it much more powerful in b2w2 than in usum

Having zekrom over 2 other mons is Def better however the held items are a big disappointment
yeah I wouldn't struggle with zekrom in any way if he had it in BW/BW2 as I'll just use my ground type anyways

then why not Lusamine? by reading her backstory, you will learn very quickly that all her actions are not her own actions, sorta... her evil actions are a result of being under the effect of Nihilego's venom

I definitely feel like since you based it on USUM for the most part you should have used Guzma and Lusamine's final team because it felt weird for you to use Lusamine's Sun and Moon team and comparing everybody else's team from the Ultra games
Me: being confused on why I lost to Guzma 4 times and him being the weakest

So...I disagree somewhat with the premise of this video. These are alternate versions of team leaders, with the Legendary Pokémon that you never fight them with in their own region. Legends seem to be a prerequisite to be in the top half. The end result is that this doesn't really feel representative of the experience of facing the actual Team Leaders.
Yeah... I couldn't imagine facing a Mewtwo in the OG games with how broken the mechanics were. Literal hell.
I love Lusamine and her Pokémon are some that I really like using them. I’m happy that her Team is as good herself and evil.

Yeah most likely it will outspeed you since most Alola Pokemon are slow plus it has a strong bug buzz or air slash

Am I the only one who had loads of trouble with Guzma lol. He was decent in Sun and Moon but in USUM he was extremely difficult. His Golisopod nearly one shot most of my team.

In Malie City, Guzma’s Golisopod was alright for me, but it was his Masquerain that gave me trouble. It kept on flinching my team. I literally had to grind up a little just to two-shot that thing.
Ironically we all probably had more trouble with Guzma, at least the first time we battled him, then almost anyone else on this list.

Lysandre’ s arc in the anime was spectacular. His battle against Ash, Alain, and all of Kalos was awesome!
I know right team flaire might suck in the games but in the anime they where awesome

Imo Rose should have been ranked, not all Evil Team Leaders have to be completely evil ex: Guzma and Lusamine

Cyrus is an ok villain. I’d like to point out that his entire team barring dialga in this iteration and his entire team in diamond pearl and platinum is weak to rock. It feels like a metaphor for how his talk of spirit being bad and irrational is surrounded by such a glass wall that his whole ideal will shatter once you throw the smallest rock at it.
Lusamine / Mother is good as she as mad, Making her a bit evil.

Lysandre is such a pushover. I have never once struggled to beat him, in fact I always swept right through his team. I'd bump Cyrus and Gehtsis up a slot because they are actually challenging, but there's no denying that Giovanni is the strongest of all.

I must have been hella overlevelled when I did the Rainbow Rocket event. I did not remember that level of difficulty, but just hearing you and seeing the movesets and pokemon lists, I can see these Lysander and Giovani fights to be total Nightmare.
I hope you picked Primarina, Water and fairy looks well positioned.
Speaking of Primarina, everything about it makes me think it should have been able to learn Calm Mind from the begging. It's such an amazing move for it since it naturally has great sp. atk and sp. def, Calm Mind would just boost it through the roof! Causing burns with Scald would help patch up it's weaker physical defense too!

Just because Rose had good intentions, it doesn’t mean he isn’t the villain. Teams Aqua and Magma were trying to improve life for certain Pokémon, but you had no problem including Archie and Maxie.
Let me point out that lore wise: the original designs for Archie and Maxie make perfect sense because they are from a world where they won in the original timeline.
My God Team Yell is not an evil team. They are Marnie's cheerleaders who just want Marnie to become champion. If Team Yell was evil, that would make Piers evil, which he's not.

I think if going by their teams in their own regions, I’d have to go with Ghetsis in Black and White as the strongest. For one thing, he has a full team of six, something none of the other Evil Bosses have ever had (aside from stuff like spinoffs or the PWT). He also has a lot of good Pokémon, such as a bulky Cofagrigus with Toxic, an Eelektross which has no weakness, and his underleveled Hydreigon (seriously, how is it only Level 54?) with really good coverage.
Y'all should also do a video for their best teams in their home games, since a lot of them are a lot more challenging there than they are in USUM(*cough, Ghetsis and Cyrus)

Not just Azelf/ Mesprit tier legendaries either, uber tier ones! Using the Rainbow Rocket teams was such a bogus ranking choice.
Ghetsis to me will always be the toughest. Especially in Black and White. That damn Hydreigon is a pain in everyone's ass

I remember my first time beating Rainbow Rocket Giovani, I sweeped him with my Gligar since I had the move guillotine and because if max friendship in gen 7 I never missed, so I never needed to use any of my other pokemon
I have always had trouble with Lysandre. He gave me trouble in X even with the EXP share on. And he beat me multiple times in UM

Don’t underestimate Guzma. Unexpected battle with him during my nuzlocke when I thought it would just be a regular team skull battle and he clapped my thick Hariyama. Golisopod is a fucking monster
I beat Ghetsis on my first try for the very first time yesterday and was very proud. I've played through Black and White 3+ times and had the game for 10 years(it was my first pokémon game). Many max revives and heals were used.
I remember the time when Giovanni busted out his Mewtwo and then Mega Evolved into Y just to use Aura Sphere on Incenaroar....
I was like Alright i'mma Head out this region is screwed pray to lord Helix.
You forgot to mention Lusamine's Ultra Team. What they lack in a totem and switching Mismagius for another normal type, they make up for in having some good moves.
Clefable having psychic for those poison types, Bewear having drain punch, zen headbutt, take down and duel chop, Milotic having a real move set outside of hydro pump. Lopunny having the elemental punches... and Liligant who doesn't change.
Plus the A.I in the mother beast fight is in garbage mode to where the boosted team didn't matter much outside of Clefable and Bewear... which a semi fast steel type would take care of the former while a good fairy type would take care of the later. (It's why U Necrozma is a better boss fight than her, by miles.)
Mystic the reason the leaders of team Aqua and Magma(forgot their names) feature their original designs is because there are from the non mega time line(got this from a video Candy Eevee made) where they look like that.

I never knew that Lusamine's Clefable had Metronome. I've been real interested of how the move can affect your battle style (speaking of which if you wanna learn more there's MandJTV's Draft league, the MBF.)

Giovanni was the easiest one for me to take out thanks to ultra sun letting me catch a Squirtle on melemele island so just like in pokemon blue i had a high level Blastoise to rip through his primarily ground type team
Cyrus was the hardest one for me because of his bloody Dialga that sweeped my whole team but thanks to my Lucario's nasty mind aura sphere i took him down

6:25 fun fact: in the pokemon special manga Ghetsis uses in elctross. and amusing enough Ghetsis in the manga molded his entire team just to fight Black since he became the hero of truth and partner of reshiram. Ghetsis used hydreigon to pin the weakened reshiram, a volcarona to pin Blacks galvantula Tula, an eelektross to pin Black's terracosta and braviery Costa and Brav respectively, a seimitoad to pin Black's emboar Bo, and a cofragrigus to pin Black's musharna Musha.

Ghetsis is my nemesis. He’s exactly the type of person that we simply cannot allow to have power: obsessed, selfish, cruel, and insane. And his Zero friendship Hydreigon can really pulverize you if you don’t have the proper team. You can imagine how satisfying it was for me to obliterate Hydreigon with my Naganadel’s Devastating Drake, and then have Rotom come in and recharge the Z-Ring letting me do the same thing to Zekrom!

In Ultra Sun, I lost to Giovanni around 5 times; mostly because my team had a bad ground weakness. My team was Primarena, Alolan Mike, Alolan Raichu, Alolan Dugtrio, Dusk Lycanroc, and Hawlucha.

Oh man, that Mewtwo! I have Ultra Sun, so I faced Mewtwo X, but that thing is still a monster. I lost more than half my team to it! It kinda feels like a miracle that I won first try. It’s sad that we’ll likely never have a good challenge like that ever again because Game Freak is too lazy to have difficulty options.
Chairman Rose... I get that he wanted to help Galar but if it meant plunging the world in darkness while reviving an alien pokemon capable of mass destruction, misguided doesn't suit him.
He must have either missed the part where the Darkest Day nearly destroyed all of Galar, he forgot that part, or didn’t care about that part because, of course, it’s going to be different this time; there’s no way Rose will cause deja vu by creating another Darkest Day.
I wish you compared their final teams in their respective games, cause if you use Ultra Sun, then obviously Giovanni would be first cause ihenis the main boss

They used the old designs for maxie and archie because they are from the og ruby and sapphire timeline that is not canon (oras is) . Rainbow rocket consists of leaders that actually succeeded in their plan in an alter timeline

I had such a hard time against Giovanni in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon that I had to use freaking Ultra Necrozma to take that Mewtwo out with Necrozma’s signature Z-Move, and it was worth it. Scared the crap out of me tho...

Giovanni's team was the hardest for me to beat in any Pokémon. That Mega Mewtwo alone swept me more times than I want to admit.

I know this video is 2 years old but I'm pretty sure the reason Maxie and Archie use their original Ruby/Sapphire designs is because the versions of them in Rainbow Rocket are from the universe(s) where mega evolution doesn't exist. This is also presumably why their versions of Groudon and Kyogre don't have the stones to go primal form, which they would have access to if they were from the ORAS universe(s).
