I got the Stila one and oh boy! It actually frickin' WORKS! Does not accentuate my pores, actually fills them IN, matte without being flat, and rarest of all, a really good color match to my undertones. FAVE!!!

I had the exact opposite experience with this. Kind of goes to show that everyone is different. I am 53 with dry flaky skin. This one doesn't accent those flakes and my lines. The extra luminosity makes me look more healthy and less dry./. I don't even really have to powder. I have found that a little goes a long way. More is not better with this one for me.

I also have dry skin but not young enough that I want the luminosity to highlight all of the little unattractive problems which have come with age for me. But tempting since others w dry skin got good results.

A Sephora associate chose this foundation for me in 315N during the sale. I didn’t realize it was a “luminous” foundation. I squirt a small pump of this into my CT Wonderglow and use a brush to buff it in then finish up with a beauty blender. I have received three random compliments from strangers on my skin in the last week. 😳😄👍🏽 What the heck? I’m all in! I’m 52 with combo skin.

Wow, that's great! I just watched a professional MUA on here do a mature woman's makeup, he used this and she looked wonderful! So being on a budget I looked up dupes. Drugstore dupe is NYX Professional Makeup Born to Glow Naturally for $10, Pampered Wolf says that but so does google lol. I think I might try that one first.

Do NOT hesitate, Angie - Vivace is the bomb. Best skincare money I’ve ever spent aside from the regular Botox/fillers...absolutely no downtime and huge results in skin texture. This is the only treatment I get where my husband actually has noticed a positive difference. He couldn’t really say exactly what was different but he just said my skin looks amazing. I hardly need to wear any foundation at all these days!

I am currently doing microneedling (Dermapen). I purchased six and have done 2...it's been a game changer for me...my skin texture just keeps improving!! I am also seeing a glow and plumpness I haven't seen in years...There is hardly any down time...go for it! I am also swearing by SKII Essence...it's done so much for my skin texture, breakouts, tone....I am finding I cannot live without it...it's pretty much replaced all my other serums.

I have to say that I really appreciate the rigorous test you put foundations through. You really go all out to give a thorough and honest opinion of the product. I don't know anyone else that goes to these lengths. Thank you. As for luminous foundations, I have made it a point to never buy anymore, no matter what brand. They just make a mature female look OLD. They show every nook and cranny and if you have any wrinkles at all, they better run! Thank you so much for the effort you put into your reviews! ❤

I have had Morpheus8 and Venus Viva and would recommend Viva over M8 for pore and texture concerns. I saw no change in my surface skin texture or pore size after M8 treatments but after Viva my skin glows and pores and texture are significantly better.

You look gorgeous in it, as you do in almost everything you try! I have this foundation, and I'm SO torn about it. I don't often purchase foundations that are THIS luminous/shiny, because I prefer more natural skin finishes. BUT, I cannot decide if I love it or not. It looks good, but I'm not used to being so shiny. My husband says it looks great, though! lol. I DO use a mattifying primer, make sure to powder it, and avoid any obvious highlight while wearing it.

M.J.P., I was just looking online at that, I think it must be the same: "WinterBlend face and body foundation"? It's very very light coverage, watery formula, much like MAC face and body, only I think MAC might initially have more of a glow, but all those types seem flattering to mature, (really mature☺) skin.. They Don't show up the texture so much. I'm also very interested in the Glossier tinted formula, the lightest coverage of all, not even "coverage" by many ppl's standards. But I don't need to cover anything, need a base for other things I want to wear over it like cream blush, (someone needs to find a thin watery concealer, bc those all seem full of silicone too!) LMK if you know of a concealer that isn't thick, stiff, and hugs lines, showing every one of them up... PLEASE! 🌝

I put it away for awhile and pulled it back out and I'm loving it! It definitely needs to be set with setting powder. I think it looked better once the powder went away. The powder seemed to make it look more make-up-y, but once the luminosity came back, it looked really fresh and pretty. But I do understand what you mean about not loving luminosity.

This would probably be a wonderful foundation for people with normal-dry skin who like a luminous finish. I thought it looked nice on you but I know how you feel regarding texture being accentuated by luminous foundations, I generally prefer a soft matte, satin or natural finish since my skin is pretty textured too & I don't always want to pile on powder.

I've been waiting for you to do your feature on it. I completely agree with all of your findings! I found it to be most luminous outdoors and matte looking indoors. I am gonna be 65 and I normally wear tinted sunscreen or BB cream with a non glittery luminizer.

One and done with the Sephora tinted moisturizer. Color corrects without hiding freckles, feels like skin, doesn’t have those weird sparkles that the It cosmetics CC illuminating cream has. Nothing disguises 56 year old wrinkles (maybe spackle, the Home Depot brand) but the Sephora brand gives the old face a bit of polish.

I tried this one back in the summer and it didn’t work then. Now that the temp has dropped I thought I might go back and get another sample. However, sine I loved how the Stila one looked on you I ordered that one so I will wait to see how the Stila looks on me. Great review Angie as always. 💖

You are absolutely right about Stilla. I got a sample of it and loved it on my skin. I do have combination skin and larger pores than yours. I also like the Sephora and Loreal True Match, all of which you recommended. Thanks to you. My demonologist recommended microneedling to treat my acne spot and help with wrinkles. I have not had time to do it. I wished I could tell you but it is on my list of to do things. Love your videos.

Angie, I had purchased the Anastasia foundation in shade 220N a month ago. Like you, I liked it but didn’t love it. You gave us a great description of the pros and cons. You are right about the waxy look. I was having difficulty in justifying why I didn’t like it. I am looking for my holy grail foundation. I am normal/dry skin so I like a dewy foundation instead of a matte foundation. This just wasn’t the one for me. You do an incredible job on your channel. Especially love 💕 your foundation Friday’s and your Nordstrom’s videos. It’s like having a personal shopper😁. Thank you.

I purchased this Stila due to your rec and love it! I have dry skin with enlarged pores in my t-zone. This does not give me those dreaded pore dots.💕

As another gal with dry skin here, I just want to be sure I understood you. You are saying the Stila turned out to be better for hiding pores than many previous foundations? I need to hear it from someone with dry skin too----seems nearly everyone else still has oily skin even after age 55,🤔😣, and I can't buy so many foundations to try. Have to rely a bit on others' experiences-- don't worry, if it doesn't work out for me, I'll still be grateful for advice from someone with similar concerns & complexion. 👌🌝

I mix this foundation with L’Oréal fresh wear because I agree that it’s too dewy for me as well but my skin leans dryer. I’m going to put the Stila one on my wish list!

Thanks, Angie! LORAC Sheer PoreFection Foundation is great for pores. Can't say it looks and performs better than everything else, but it's wonderful for people with sensitive/acne prone skin, which is really hard to find in a liquid foundation. (Make sure it's the sheer version.)

Another great review! I completely agree with every criticism you have about this foundation. You've saved me money, again, so I'll pass on this one and get the Stila foundation instead. Thank you so much for another honest and thorough review. I always look forward to your videos . They're always so well researched, informative and fun. xxoo❤

Angie, You were asking about something I have never heard of before! Have you done a TCA peel for your pores and texture? Not a major peel, but a minor one? I get them done every 3-4 months and it really helps!

You simply must review the La Mer foundation. It is hugely expensive but I have found it great on my skin. Doesn't settle, light to medium coverage, goes on like a dream without primer but with a blender sponge and lasts all day too.

I gave up on foundation a few years ago; it makes my not-bad skin look horrible. I still have fairly oily skin at 56, so foundation is a greasy mess within a few hours anyway. So I just use a tinted sunscreen (Paula's Choice currently) and powder (Bye Bye Pores). Still love your reviews though! Maybe I'll try one of your holy grails one of these days...

I bought this and the more I use it the less I like it. It’s so drying on my skin! I wind up mixing it with my Bye Bye Foundation from It Cosmetics and even then it’s just OK. I’m definitely going to try the Stila foundation thanks to your review!

I’ve done Vivace and Fraxel (which I know you’ve done also). I think you’ll feel like Vivace does less for you than Fraxel. Much less downtime, which is nice, but you need to do at least 3 sessions. I feel like every procedure helps a little in its own way but nothing has blown me away...probably because, short of a face lift, nothing can!

I was logging on to make a comment to you and saw you had uploaded a video. I took your advice on the Lancôme Maquicomplet concealer. I am 56 and feel confident in my makeup knowledge Except undereye concealer as I get older! I use Shapetape and sometimes NARS, but was beginning to think it was just what I need to get use to looking like as I age But no! You are so right. What a difference. As soon as I put it on I was like “huh? This actually looks good !” Thank you thank you! I did put a bit of It setting powder on it and yes it looks great. Thanks again! Just went and bought the Stila but haven’t used it yet

I don’t really see enlarged pores and very few wrinkles on your skin. I have seen the polka dot pores in some makeup reviews . I think you do a lot of skin maintenance, and some is expensive and some isn’t. I am older than you and I have reached a point where I just want to look going. I have this foundation and I don’t feel it makes me look shiny, but I always powder , and then use setting spray. Thank you for all your testing as I know it takes a lot of time and that’s why I ALWAYS watch your reviews. Thanks 😊

Try a salicylic acid peel for your pores! And fibroblast for other texture. Both work like a charm! :)
