    Any theories on what the "Second Coming" will be like? 🙂

    • @DontDrinkTheLuminol
      @DontDrinkTheLuminol 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I wonder if any of the S1 characters will be back.
      I think Gabriel and Beelzie owe Aziraphale and Crowley big-time favors for how they protected Jim, then helped them run off together (Aziraphale by making sure to ask what they wanted and Crowley for telling them a place where they can go live). I think one or both of them will pay their debts to one or both of the other.
      I don't know if this will still be the "be kind to each other" Jesus or a different version.
      I'm looking forward to hearing what God has to say about all of this. She was so quiet this season.
      This is as much as I come up with. I don't know how the second coming will go down, and I'll enjoy watching others post responses here. Thank you for placing this question here. :)

      They have been hinting at the resurrection of Jesus the entire season which is interesting.
      They meet the resurrection, Gabriel reciting Job 38:7, and they want to restart Armageddon.
      When the second coming happens it looks similar to the first Apocalypse we saw. Disease, famine, war and death will plague the earth. Just like in this season the dead will be raised like we have already seen.
      And just like how Adam tried to make the earth his kingdom,
      a kingdom shall be established that lasts thousands of years.
      So we will probably see lots of old faces, and ton of chaos 😂

      @@0l._.l0895 Speaking of old faces, I wonder why Agnus Nutter made sure to tell Anathema to get it on with Newt in that specific time window before Armageddon. Was she meant to get pregnant?

      @@DontDrinkTheLuminol possibly, there was a theory that she would possibly give birth to Jesus in the new age.
      I'm curious to see what age they would make him though. The second coming could mean he's an adult or that he is a baby. But bc I don't think Metatron is working under the word of God I'm wondering how they are going to get away with doing any of this.

    • @DontDrinkTheLuminol
      @DontDrinkTheLuminol 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@0l._.l0895 Agreed on the age issue, because every Biblical representation I've seen or heard has Jesus returning to Earth in a mature state (for lack of a better word for an eternal being) rather than reincarnated as a baby and literally born again.
      I honestly don't know the significance of a child Anathema could have, unless she's carrying the antichrist vol 2 because it didn't work out with Adam. But pregnancy is the only thing I can think of for why she'd "need" to hook up with that specific person in that specific window. Maybe that was a throwaway thing in the book that was never going to be important later, since there wasn't originally going to be more content. But maybe her carrying the antichrist 2.0 (presumably so he'd have her influence growing up?) would be why Agnus Nutter wrote a whole second volume of prophecies for her she'd only see once she was already pregnant (if I knew I'd be conceiving the antichrist, I would NOT be ok with getting laid!). Yikes, I just thought about all of this. Burning that book might have been a mistake!!

    What I love about the relationship between these two is that it is not purely romantic or purely platonic. It's a beautiful mix of both that is entirely their own, built on a foundation of their deep love for each other

      @DontDrinkTheLuminol 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      I think it took this long for them to understand that what they feel for each other isn’t JUST unconditional love, but ALSO happens to be romantic. Angels and demons don’t have people shoving pop culture thoughts at them about what it’s “like to be in love,” so the possibility might not have been something they’d either considered or were ready to face acting upon. This is one friendship that can’t afford to be ruined by an unwanted romantic advance-they had to tread very lightly with each other because they’re eternal beings very aware that they won’t just “die of embarrassment.” The importance of their unconditional love was greater than the need to express romantic love, until Crowley perceived a risk in this episode that would threaten BOTH relationships. When the same side/eternal allies card didn’t work, in desperation he played the romantic relationship possibility (in his mind, his last guaranteed chance). He was never desperate enough to be that vulnerable before now.

    There’s some very interesting theories floating around about Crowley’s true identity. I think his memory has been wiped. I think the Metatron definitely had something to do with it. Did you see the look he gave Crowley? His sole purpose was breaking Aziraphale and Crowley up. When they work together they are extremely powerful. Aziraphale calling Crowley “one of the bad guys” and assuming that Crowley would want to go back to Heaven was absolutely baffling to me. When has Crowley ever acted like he would want to ever go back to Heaven? Metatron is definitely up to no good. Heaven still wants to end life on Earth and Aziraphale is being used as a pawn by Metatron and who knows who else. Heaven and Hell are both toxic right now and I think that there’s a much bigger role that God’s going to play in the final season.
    Aziraphale’s religious trauma s real and frustrating. I think it’s going to take Azi actually going to Heaven and being there to truly realize just how bad it is and how badly they are using him.
    I think God finally intervenes in the final season, Heaven gets straightened out, Hell continues being Hell, and we find out Crowley’s true identity and exactly why he “sauntered vaguely down.” Lol
    I’ve so enjoyed watching this with y’all. I look forward to more of y’all’s content!
    And now the wait for season 3 begins......

      Yes to all of this, except I'll advocate for Az thinking Crowley might want to be an angel again for one reason: The one time we see Crowley filled with pure joy is when he was an angel in S2E1 helping along the creation of the universe. From Az's face, it's pretty clear that he's never going to forget that moment. Whatever Crowley says or how he acts, Az probably had a hope that deep down, Crowley would jump at the chance to be an angel again together *with Az* trying to stop the world from a bad ending. But here's my question: Does Crowley fully remember his angelic life, now that we've seen Heaven wanting to wipe Gabriel's memory when he was demoted? Maybe Crowley doesn't remember the joy he used to have before the institution Az now wants to improve disappointed him, or maybe it's too painful for him to think about. Or maybe he can't think about it because he can't remember everything.

    • @ericamacs3875
      @ericamacs3875 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think his memory is weird, he's forgotten who Furfur is, he's forgotten Seraquel, but then he still has the passwords for the files in Heaven, and he said The Book of Life was something they made up to scare the cherubs. He knows he was a senior angel and the others kind of defer to him..
      I agree he's had some kind of memory wipe, and I think we will find out what happened in S3. I wonder if Aziraphale and he were close before his fall, and something happened there.

    • @kellifranklin9872
      @kellifranklin9872 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ericamacs3875 I’ve thought about that as well, him not remembering Furfur and Saraquel. Also, what happened to him in Hell and how long was he there when he saved the grave robber (her name escapes me at the moment) in Edinburgh. Aziraphale said it was a long time before he saw Crowley again. I have MANY questions about the Metatron and I believe what you wrote. I think we finally get some answers surrounding Crowley’s life before he fell and even after he fell. I also believe that God will step in during the final season and straighten out Heaven in some way.

    • @DontDrinkTheLuminol
      @DontDrinkTheLuminol 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ericamacs3875 How do we actually know Crowley was a senior angel? I see people saying that online but I don't get it. He outranks Muriel because he could open the files, but I get the sense everyone does (she literally didn't know there was a class beneath her). He performed a huge miracle with Az, but that could have been because they were holding hands with Gabriel and they tapped into his archangel-level powers. I know he helped with the Big Bang, but no one was there to witness it and he didn't know that his program was essentially already being cancelled (or anything about plans for Earth or humans). I got the impression Aziraphale outranked Crowley by far, at least in the very limited angelic window we've seen them both in, because Aziraphale knew so much Crowley was clueless about. Once the music went bummerish in the intro for S2, it felt to me like a teacher (Az) pausing to talk to the student painting the background for the school play (Crowley) who was proud of his big project but didn't know much about the running of the show. But I keep seeing people say Crowley was high up in heaven. I'd love to understand this, please tell me where it was confirmed. Thanks! :)
      Edited to add: Did the other angels really defer to him, or was he just loud and bossy and they went along with him because, after all, there was an alarm going off in Heaven that an angel was declaring war on Hell? It's not like they weren't going to get involved and go check it out, so Crowley ushering them along loudly may not really mean they were following him like a leader. The angels were bound to step lightly when a demon was in Heaven the exact same time war was declared on Hell, because they didn't know what was going on. I think they followed him out of a fire exit more than they followed him as subordinates (one could even say they escorted him out and just wanted him to leave Heaven quietly/without doing anything else), but that's my opinion, and again I honestly do want to know why the fandom is so confident in this theory, so hit me with corrections or linked interviews, please!

    I think Gabriel expected to fall and be sent to Hell, where, you may have noticed, Beelzebub had two thrones (in their talk with Crowley, there were two thrones there) all of a sudden. A good point that Beelzebub could have put the kibosh on the high number of demons Shax wanted, because Beelzebub wanted them to not be able to do that much damage. I hadn't thought of that. Beelzebub may have gotten even more desperate after the miracle because they could no longer sense Gabriel anywhere (like Crowley was in the first season when Aziraphale was discorporated).

    Fun fact: (Sorry if you already knew this) A 2 second clip of the kiss was leaked by Prime Video themselves like a month before the season officially premiered (they quickly deleted it after it went viral).
    It only showed a bit of the actual scene with the word “EVERY” on top of it, so many people assumed it would be a very cute and romantic moment.
    So you can imagine how everyone reacted when they finally saw the episode 😅
    P.S: I loved your reaction to the show!!
    And many in the fandom agree as well with the fact that it was a bit strange that Aziraphale suddenly assumed that Crowley would be interested in becoming an angel again.
    A lot of people have pointed out that is clear that Aziraphale is still struggling a lot with his religious trauma, while others have theorized that perhaps the Metatron put something in his coffee or tried to threatened him so he would agree to go back to heaven.

    • @HuntingViolets
      @HuntingViolets 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I don't find it too strange when you look at some things Crowley has said about not meaning to fall (which he may or may not have told Aziraphale, but they have been drunk together more than once), how happy the Starmaker was in the one scene we saw of them in Heaven, and how Aziraphale probably believes Crowley should never have fallen. He could also look on it as a way for them to be safe and together. (Although how safe it is when they can just erase your memories at any moment is certainly a question.) I do think Aziraphale would be a great leader in Heaven (when he really wants to, he can get people to fall in line), although not probably what the Metatron would want. I feel like one or both of them is in for a surprise.

    Just returning on the question about Doctor Who, and saw no one else answer. I believe you could just watch the reboot, but the older ones are also an option, but I think you can understand plenty without watching the old ones. There's stuff you'll recognize if you're familiar with the old ones, but the show does a good job of explaining things as they happen. I also think some of the very old eps (the 60s) don't exist anymore; overwritten to film other things.
    I got up to somewhere in the Matt Smith era (11th Doctor) and sort of stopped watching it because I missed some eps and wanted to watch them in order and they were never repeated on TV when I wanted them to and then I just never got back to it, so I'm rewatching the entire series again and then continuing where I left off. David Tennant a brilliant Doctor as well as Crowley, and unless that changes when I get to the Doctors I haven't seen much of, he'll remain my favourite.

    I still think that kiss, while romantic, was Crowley's last temptation. He has always managed to tempt Aziraphale with eartly pleasures, especially food. "Let's have dinner and talk it over" wasn't going to work this time. So he tried that kiss. Not that he hadn't wanted to kiss Aziraphale, but in the end it was a desperate attempt at manipulation. After everything, he is still a demon.

      It wasn't romantic at all tho. Neil even said so. It's desperate and painful and sad. While I don't disagree that it could have been a temptation, I don't think it was manipulative. I think it's mostly agreed upon (tho not confirmed, so I won't force this thought upon you) that it's what Crowley THINKS he has to do to win Az back. 'One fabulous kiss, just like in the movies, works every time.' His viewpoint on love is skewed, as is Az's; "It always looked so easy in Jane Austen." If you watch the beginning of the show and then skip to their last conversation, both of their reactions make so much sense.
    Aziraphale knew him before, saw him happy and excited about things existing. But Aziraphale version of heaven in his brain is that they are good just slightly misguided. He has religious trauma and is struggling with his views on what is good and bad. He thinks that Crowley wants that because "who wouldn't want to be in heaven" not to mention it's proven that Crowley is "better" than aziraphale in certain moral aspects.
    Crowley is what happens when you see things for how they truly are. He never needed heaven or hell. Good or evil. He wanted to live that life with Aziraphale.
    Not to mention Aziraphale feels obligated to fix a lot of things and he noticed Crowley "straying from God" before the war even happened. He most likely is trying to "fix" what happened.

It's always been their problem and something they will have to work through in s3. Since the announcement of s3, there's been tidbits of the plot and how Az and Crowley will interact, but I'll leave that up to you to look up if you so wish, but it's nothing mind blowing and is how you'd imagine it going. There's also an official playlist.
    If you DO look it up, if I may, and if you're interested, check out Sendarya's channel for EXCELLENT analysis and theory videos; this may surprise you, but this show is CHOCK BLOCK full of symbolism and foreshadowing and the like (just be aware that some videos mention s3's ending, which is something most of us know about, and no, it's not a leak or anything, but rather Neil put out there when this franchise was still just a book with no sequel in sights of ever being made, so... spoilers, but also not spoilers?)
    I await for your review/analysis of this episode, so I don't know what you're thinking right now, but I hope Az isn't hated on too much (I'm sure he isn't, you both seem rather level headed). Some people like to jump/blame him for his decision, but it's a lot more nuanced than "he chose Heaven". You have to take into account all the info provided to us. Why did he say no at first and then yes later into his conversation with the Metatron? What does the Metatron know? Why did Crowley fall? What did Crowley say at the end of s1? What info can you take away from the situation of Gabriel and Beelzebub leaving? What is Az's core personality trait?
    I can talk forever about this but I'm going to cut off here until the review video. :D

      I personally can't stand the 'coffee theory'. For a while it seemed like most of the fandom was brainwashed by it, though thankfully by now it has pretty much fizzled out. Besides, Aziraphale drinks coffee in the book.

      @@Bindi342 it's just so out of character. I suppose it could've been just a way of introducing the metatron on earth before the big scene and showing us how much he doesn't know Aziraphale? I don't know. It's just fun to think through though. Hopefully we'll find out next season.

      He drinks coffee because Metatron, the higher up in heaven, the closest position to God gives it to him just after he saved Azis' life. Aziraphele is in no position to refuse, really. And this God's Voice that always ignored him suddenly is nice to him, makes a nice gesture for him, and offers him a huge, amazing opportunity. Even extends the offer to Crowley. It's what Azi always wanted. It's not unreasonable to be swayed in such a moment. And as for Aziraphele's decision, it's not out of character at all. In all the flashbacks he keeps excusing heaven's cruelty, he keeps saying it's all according to an ineffable plan. He still believes in God and god's goodwill. Look at his obnoxious attitude in the grave-digging episode. Aziraphele still believes heaven is good in general, just a few bad apples that strayed or whatever. His decision to go and try to fix heaven is in character. In the Job episode Aziraphele thinks Crowley is on a good (gods/heavens) side because he doesn't want to kill the humans. Azi thinks hell is bad and Crowley didn't deserve to fall. Crowley becoming an angel is in Aziraphele's mind how things should be. He is still stack in a heaven-good, hell bad mindset. It's perfectly in character for him,

      @@cathyaldridge4550 I think it's like our host indicated in this reaction--Az believes he can improve a flawed institution if he runs it, and he can nudge it towards his understanding of good.
      The thing about Good Omens, and similar media such as Kevin Smith's movie Dogma, is that they're pretty clear that their argument is *institutions* (like church, or in this case Heaven) are flawed, but *God* is good. Az is going to believe Heaven represents the "good guys" because it represents God, who is good, up to the point that he may question whether he still believes God is good (if that ever happens, I think that's when he'd be in true danger of "falling").
      A lot of this reminds me so much of politics in general (I promise to keep ALL political party talk OUT of this comment, and I beg any commenters to this comment also keep specific political examples out of this): everyone who runs for president claims both to love their country and to want to change things. Same for Az running Heaven. He believes it's good at its core but flawed and in "need" of improving/saving.

    I really feel sorry for Azilaphale. He is a person who thinks that not taking any sides is lonely. After going off together with Crowley, what he will have except his partner? Being lonely together forever as immortal beings? It might sound romantic but I don't find it a healthy relationship at all. They need to change the system, not run away from it. I’m sad that Clowley didn't see it and he was too possessive. I mean, come on, Crowley didn't even look happy at the beginning of the season 2, even though he was in his ideal life, being with Azilaphale, away from both the heaven and the hell. He was even secretly being in touch with a demon.

      My take on that is what Crowley told Az at the end of S1--that he believes the "big one" will be the celestial beings vs. Earth/humanity. He wasn't happy because he saw Armageddon as delayed but the Earth still destined to be destroyed, and for the first time in his existence, he senses a timeline for that. When he's handed the antichrist baby in S1E1, he says, "Already?" even though it had been 6,000 years coming. He didn't feel time until it was *clearly* running out. I blame his "unhappiness" (was it entirely that, though, or was that partly an act for Shax? He may well have had very happy interactions with Az before this, and he does lie to Shax and say he doesn't really talk to Az anymore when we quickly learn that's not the case--we just don't know because we don't see them interacting before Gabriel is on the scene) on him waiting for the other shoe to drop, and not having anything actionable. Which is why he was talking to Shax--keeping an ear to the ground, so to speak. Then he seems to perk up when Gabriel arrives because now there's something actionable, and the game is back on. My perception is that he was gloomy at the beginning the way a sidelined player is anxious to be "let back into the game."
      On the flip side, I think we've only seen Crowley *truly* happy during his bliss watching the universe come into existence as an angel before the opening credits of S2E1. Which begs the question: Can a demon be happy? They can clearly experience flashes of happiness or pleasure, but joy or contentment are another matter.

    • @HuntingViolets
      @HuntingViolets 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@DontDrinkTheLuminol No, Crowley told Shax that *Heaven* didn't talk to Aziraphale anymore, not that Crowley didn't talk to Aziraphale anymore. He is bored with being sidelined, I agree. I think he has seemed happy a few times with Aziraphale, as happiness isn't always displayed in the effusive way the Starmaker had over the nebula, but I think Aziraphale may think his happiness as an angel was more than he's ever experienced since (an argument for reangelification). I don't think it has much to do with the physical state of being a demon itself, but being under the hand of Hell (or Heaven, something angel Crowley didn't realize at first). But you can't go back and be a child again. Adam and Eve can't return to the innocent period of the garden. There will be other summers for Adam Young, but never like that summer. We can only go forward, I guess.

      @LaurelLily-pe1ge Yes, please! Thankfully most reactors realise that it's simply never acceptable to blatantly spoil something for others in their titles/thumbnails, but I was really shocked by the amount of reactors who thought it was OK to do so, especially within the first couple of weeks of the show coming out. Most of those who did it seemed quite young, so I assumed that social media had sadly trained them to try and quickly rack up the views without thinking of the consequences. They all got asked to change it, and all did, often with an apology. Only one refused, so I no longer watch his content.
