- The long-awaited Good Omens Season 2 reactions! We know that we didn't have to watch season 1 first to react but there was a good amount of character setup in season 1 that might contribute to this season. This is our very first viewing of s2.

Notice how much power Crowley had in that moment and when Aziraphale introduces himself Crowley doesn’t give back a name. Also take note just how powerful Crowley and Azi are when they perform a half miracle each together. I loved y’alls commentary here and I’m so excited for this season! The next episode is right up y’all’s alley lol!

Yes I think this combined power is the absolute key to why things happen the way they do.. and for season 3 if and when we get it..
So I actually DID notice that Crowley very conspicuously didn't give his name which made me wonder if the producers simply hadn't conceived of a pre-fall name or what?
Notice how we were explicitly told only one archangel has ever fallen and it's not Crowley. If Crowley were performing overpowered miracles all by himself all the time it wouldn't have been a surprise when he and Aziraphale did one together - we're looking at power of love, not power of secretly an archangel. The two of them being random low level field agents is seriously important to the whole point of the show, and this kind of thing makes me kind of nuts.

Oh, most definitely! There is, just like in Good Omens, a real fear about asking questions in most religions. A lot of it stems from worry that if they ask questions it would be "doubting" God.

Crowley is creating a nebula here, but not the universe entire, and there could be other engineer-angels doing similar things elsewhere.

I love angel Crowley. Like an absolute sweetheart yet to be scarred, it feels a little tragic looking at him.

Crowley never gave his name to Aziraphale, it's unlikely his name was Crawley as an angel, so why didn't he give a name there? Not a spoiler but interesting that they avoid it there.
They also have recast 3 actors from the last series in different roles, the 2 ladies that got trapped in the coffee shop played satanic nuns and the demon giving Crowley his post was madame tracey the psychic in the first series. Not sure if you noticed them.

They actually recast four actors from S1. Reece Shearsmith played Shakespeare in S1E3, and he's back this season as the demon Furfur.
I assumed Aziraphale recognised him? And was just telling him who he was. A bit like we encounter a celebrity, and just introduce ourselves..
@ericamacs3875 No, I think it's the first time they ever meet. After introducing himself, Aziraphale says to Crowley, 'and you are?' Implying they have never met before, and he's asking for Crowleys name, but Crowley is too engrossed in whats happening and doesn't reply.
@@swanchamp5136 Yes, I think they may elect to keep Crowley's angel name unknown to the audience for the whole series. I'd like that, anyway.
People talk about Maggie's being judgy of Nina's drinking by saying, "No judgment" (which isn't ideal) but never talk about how Nina was judgy of Maggie for not drinking by saying, "Why not?"
Probably has to do with our perception of those phrases. Honestly I'd probably view "No judgement" as potentially judgy and "Why not" as more coercive. But agree that neither is a great look. :-)
Would you do a "I was wrong dance" if you wanted to make up something? I think it works well in a lot of relationships!😂

It's cute in a healthy relationship, but for Crowley and Aziraphale it's sadly a symptom of their overall immature way of dealing with things and lack of real, honest communication.
I actually only recently found out that Neil Gaiman and his wife had their own apology dance. He said something a year or two ago about how didn't all married couples have one. He and his wife separated just months later though, so... yeah. Funny in a healthy relationship I think, but probably worrying in one with problems.
I think it's cute! 💚🤣 like the "told you so" dance from Will and Grace. 😂
i feel like the correct place of an apology dance is when you have a silly not-argument about no-consequence things like "is that the same actor as from that other thing we watched" or "no you have the lyrics of that song wrong!" The kind of thing you might make a bet over with "consequences" like doing the dishes or taking the next late night emergency dog walk. For any kind of disagreement that matters or has the potential for hurt feelings in either direction, this isn't the way to handle it.
As funny as the scene is, demanding your friend/partner do a silly dance after they panicked over your and their safety being threatened, left to cool down, then came back to help you is not a great way to handle that conflict.

Another reactor (forget who) pointed out that Crowley wasn't actually wrong but he did the dance anyway so Aziraphale would let him stay around and help.
Apparently David and Michael had fun with this scene. Michael held up signs with numbers on them like a judge at a gymnastics competition.

In some other shows, the supreme deity has other beings assisting in various tasks within the larger task of Creation. I particularly like the anime "Heaven's Design Team" which gives little facts about various animal species alongside a humorous take on angels being assigned to come up with creatures for planet Earth. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heaven%27s_Design_Team
