Thanks for the review Matt. I've never seen a review with a manual trans as auto only in AUS. The comparable unit that gets a lot of publicity in AUS is the iDrive. It retails for around $230 and seems to have a bit more granularity in the settings. C $ and AUS $ are pretty much on par, so $ 400 for the Pedal Commander is a stretch. Good that you were able to score one second hand. They make a significant improvement with the iniital delay with the auto and is on my to do list.
sorry I made a mistake I think there only 300 I got mine use for 200 so it wasn't a bad deal. yeah I was thinking of doing a video comparing all the k brands and seeing what to buy for the money! still jealous of Australia I'm really hoping to come out and visit
Man I got that FJ with man Tran with pedal command also! I agree sport mode is a bit much on the clutch.
Extra power = go faster at lower rpm. This does not give you that. It basically allows you to customize the sensitivity of your throttle... from what I understand.

Honest review.
Excellent video with excellent information. I just bought one and may give it a chance--although I'm questioning the cost/benefit ratio. I own a 2013 FJ with a/t. There are times when instantaneous acceleration could mean the difference between a car hitting me or me being able to effectively maneuver out of harms way and spare damage to my vehicle. It might also be useful when driving onto the freeway and when seeking to change lanes when there's little opportunity but to zip ahead. Even though later FJ's have 260hp (in the US), the automatics are known to be sluggish from 0-60, as you probably already know (I'm not sure how they compare to automatics--I'll have to research it). Another TH-camr drove an automatic and kept stating that throttle response is already very good with an unloaded FJ, so he didn't seem to think that there was much of an increase in performance with the PC installed. Seems pretty good in your video, however.
Yeah so this product will not add power! It will only fix the lazy or dead spot feeling in your pedal! For example if you push the pedal down 10% it will register as %20 throttle giving the feeling it is faster! I use it to slow the throttle down when off roading in 4 low
@@mattgiorgi7507 Ya, my FJ Electribic Throttle Control makes acceleration far more slowly than the cable-controlled throttle in my 330i. Any improvement and I'll be a happy camper. Figured it would help off-road, too.
@@mattgiorgi7507 I'm wondering...would it be more beneficial skip the $300 throttle response bandaid and instead re-gear to 5.29 (or whatever is suggested for FJ's on 33's or 35's? In the near future, I'd like to upgrade to 33's or 35's on my FJ and it'll be necessary then anyways (along w/BMC). Will be adding more weight with bumpers, winch, underarmor, bigger tires, Icon Stage 4 or 5 lift, etc..

Does it make a difference if you have aftermarket throttle body with spacers
This is a pedal response tuner nothing to do with engine management so I would say no

@@chachiluv4085 oh in terms of it working I’m not sure I don’t have an aftermarket throttle body or spacers! I’m sure it would tho as it just sends a signal to the throttle body that the pedal position is increase when in fact it’s not!
I've been wondering about these for a while! My throttle response is pretty damn good the way it is, don't think I need it to open any quicker! LS3/525 in a 2600# Cobra Kit Car with a 3.55 gears and a T-56 Super Mag 6sp!

It only tunes the pedal’s sensitivity. Think of it like a mouse with 400dpi and 1000dpi

@nitroburn72 I did it exactly as the instructions. Matter fact I had one of their reps over the phone helping me. I had it installed before, and it happened, and then I called them. So the guy told me to reset and reinstall it. Even did some kind of update... and the keys were nowhere near the truck. It didn't work for me and didn't work for way too many people.
Its Garbage. I had one to go bad. Will never do that again!!! Take my Advice from someone who had one.
They Go bad and flag your computer. I replaced the throttle body until next, i was going to replace the
accelerator pedal sensor. Tech told me these things do usually go out. Told me to disconnect the Pedal
Commander and see what happens. I did, and the Pedal Comm was the problem. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
Hey man the problem your talking about occurs when you change the pedal commander under load. The throttle body sends an error code to the ecu putting the truck in limp mode. If you read the instruction they clearly sate not to change modes while on the gas. Seems to be user error on your part not product failure.

threw mine in the trash 2 weeks ago. It will jack with your tps and throttle body. Buyer beware
