With today's trucks and cars containing computer chips and put on machines for diagnosis, it's refreshing to see someone working on his truck in the yard of his 140 year old farmhouse.
I admire you for your ability to focus. You’re going through your house meticulously picking and choosing objects to keep or throw away not paying attention to all the junk laying around. And this weed growing out of the truck engine, OMG like you never even noticed it. 😃
She may not look her best but she will run even with wisteria growing out of her.😅. Get those brakes bled n go to town. Happy to see you didn’t forget about her…. no more lawn ornament. 😊 ♥️😊👍👍🐶
Love your videos and enjoy watching them every time they come on. May the Lord bless and protect you and getting the house and truck repair and started
Robert, don't every fall asleep outside. You'll wake up covered in wisteria vines. Never to be seen again! Very interested in the pump method to bleed brakes. My 72 Blazer needs the breaks bled and I'm just one person! It's been parked for about 3 years now waiting on that.
Great watching you work throught the process with your special touch! I felt sorry for that poor old thing...in the beginning, he sounded like he had COPD!
You don't need working brakes on the property, but you kinda need working brakes off the property, I guess. And your expression OMG! I laughed for 10 minutes!!! I had to wear my helmet while watching that video of the wild drive with you and Aaron from the pasture without brakes. I love your sense of fun, humor and adventure. 😆🤣👍👍 You could use the TH-cam shorts to reply to me. 😉😁
As always Robert we enjoy watching your videos, you are making great progress on the wall and it looks good without the window. Be careful of the floors, you could always put a wheel barrel under the opening on the floors and sweep all you can into it and then put it in the trash trailer. You and Aaron make a good team. Hopefully we will see you both helping each other out again soon. We can see how hard it is to work on both farms. You are both getting so much done. When you get time to go through all the letters you found I hope there is some really good ones in there that you will want to keep. You always keep us on our toes and we enjoy watching the progress on the Old Byrd Farm.
Robert, I love this old panel truck. Was nice to take a bit of a break from all that is happening with the house to rescue the Old Girl from the Growing Wisteria! Great Video, thank you for your time in sharing.
Hello and good seeing you again and your truck and I was hoping that when you moved the truck that the vines let you move lol as those vines are something alse. Well thanks for sharing and take care.
That's the nice thing about serpentines. You can usually just put a half inch ratchet or breaker bar on the idler and slip the belt on. So cool. Well, so far so good on that.
Well dear heart you did it..you got it started and rolling..I remember in my young days I actually replaced a starter, changed oil and fixed and changed a flat..had to rely on the library to get me going. Big old Arkie hugs to Blue!!!!
I have 1960 c10 panel, my first vehicle was a 1962 c10 panel. There are 4 hoods for the 60 thru 66 trucks and many more grills. There is a thread at 67 to 72 trucks, on the 60 thru 66 gmc and chevy combinations grills and hoods, many looks. Your hood with every grill makes it interesting. Have it how ya like it 61 chevy hood looks fine on a 66. Gravity bleed does work but incredibly slow. To just change brake fluid and get old fluid out it will work cause you already have good pedal no air, so the fluid pulls the fluid just watch the master one wheel at a time. Brake fluid needs replacing every few years keeps wheel cylinders happy. Nice truck!!!
VERY happy to see the panel truck moving again! I love that truck. Engine sounds good, but I might change out the plugs and fuel filter if it was me. Never messed with brakes, but if I'd been driving by I would have stopped to help. Wisteria can't keep a Chevy down!
When I was growing up my dad being a mechanic, I always kept a pair of pantyhose in my vehicle. Just in case my belt broke, I always kept fluids in the back of my vehicle for need be. It was great being able to pump your brakes back then. If you had a clutch you could get your vehicle on a slight hill and Pop the Clutch 😉
Did you notice your gas is on empty? That could be a problem. Enjoy your videos. Never know what you are going to be doing. You are making great progress with the homestead.
My 2016 Kia, has 2022 diesel in the tank. Does that also changes its year? Recovering a depleted battery does take many hours, sometimes days, just to condition them. It is certainly not a simple, easy process.
check the lines, the slave cylinder in the drums could be leaking. it cleans out all the junk that builds up over time. look for wetness on the bottom of the drums for the brakes. vacuum bleading work well. it is good when you do not have a second body.
When using a battery charger to charge a battery it's advisable to disconnect the battery from the vehicle. At least disconnect the ground or minus cable from the battery. This will help eliminate any damage to the alternator or any other of the vehicles electrical components. Also if the battery has removable filler caps be sure to remove them when using a battery charger to provide extra venting. Before disconnecting the charger replace the filler caps. Also make sure to unplug the charger from its power source before disconnecting it from the battery.
I owned a battery shop in Statesboro for years. Secret to keeping corrosion off your ends is to use Vaseline. Interstate batteries are hot batteries. Hahahaha, you don't read comments. Eaglegards...
That is neat! newer motor with a camaro 5 speed trans. I think it is interesting in that there is a compatible book for engine / transmission with over all length to match a vehicle original size. did the ‘66 originally have a 6 with a 4 speed in it? being in GA your truck is in so much better condition then here in western NY. the winter salt kills any car / truck. my dad got a ‘67VW micro bus from NC , it was so novel to be able to loosen a nut w/o a torch. you have to watch out for the tensioner for the belt, the bearings ware and do not keep the belt running true. thank you for the reply, I know it takes a ton of time to do that. great video good luck with your ‘66 but it is not a jeep…:-}
you can gravity bleed them just open one bleeder at a time till you get straight clean fluid start at RR THEN LR THEN RF THEN LF CRACK THE LINE LOOSE AT THE MC FIRST beings it was empty dont let it run out of fluid you cant just bleed one wheel and expect much
Pound for Pound $ for $ you can't beat a good ol 350 chevy. Grab you quick disconnect for the battery so when it sits for a month or so you can just spin the quick disconnect and there will be no draw on the battery
I buy my batteries at Home Depot. They sell Exide brand at about a third cheaper than the auto parts stores sell theirs and they are name brand and good.
Was that my imagination, or are you using an old Jack Black bottle for your radiator overflow?? Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;-) I just picked up an old 4x4 a couple weeks ago and discovered a custom gasket made from a Coors box.

Robert, it’s pretty bad when you need to pull the vines out of your engine so you can work on it! LOL
The seeded Wisteria
Yeah tell me about it 😅

I love hearing that Puddin's Fab Shop music. 😃 Robert, love watching your videos. Tell the other Robert that I said hello.
Robert all you need now is for Aaron to pull out and tell you what you are doing wrong 😂😂😂
Great video Robert 👍. I had to laugh when you were cleaning out the panel truck and pulled out Christmas ornaments 🤣🤣.
Brakes are optional . 🤣 My little brother would say the same about the 57 Chevy after we'd start heading down the road. Gotta love farm life. ❤️
Love your videos and enjoy watching them every time they come on. May the Lord bless and protect you and getting the house and truck repair and started
Wow look at that dang wisteria growing up into his truck already .That's one serious vine I don't wanna have it'll take over everything.

My Daddy always told me..."the most important part of a toolbox is the rag"..
Love those old panel trucks! 🌼
My dad had a 1963 chevy panel. Only 1 seat
That DAMN WISTERIA won't leave anything alone !!!!
Ok did anyone else wonder if a bumper or other van part would be left in the vines when he pulled out?
I was concerned the wisteria would hold it in one spot and not let go
Yes lol!
My concern was would the wisteria throw the belt off again 😂
@@zekesgirl100 right
🤣🤣
Great watching you work throught the process with your special touch! I felt sorry for that poor old thing...in the beginning, he sounded like he had COPD!
Thank you! Now I know I am not the only one who talks to my work in progress.
😂😂😂😂
That’s right

You're making me giggle with all that wisteria inside the engine!😊
I look at that truck and think it was brand new the year my husband and I was married!
Gotta love the franken style of vehicle. 🚐 No brakes? That's what down shifting is for. 🤣🤣
That’s right!
Don't think I've ever seen a person weed a truck before. Cool.
Man how I DO NOT miss bleeding brakes lol. Glad to see you got the Wisteria truck running.
Nice Old Panel Truck. Great video!

I enjoyed seeing the radiator overflow tank, LOL.
Robert, I love this old panel truck. Was nice to take a bit of a break from all that is happening with the house to rescue the Old Girl from the Growing Wisteria! Great Video, thank you for your time in sharing.
I impressed it runs so smoothly.....hugs

It idles really well.
Is a requirement to be a country boy you have to have a few "lawn ornaments" decorating the front yard. lol
Where’s Aaron been?

Blue dog experiences a glitch in the matrix at 15:33😲🍻
I went back and looked. He just disappeared. Lol. Editing.
I wish you could fix the body enough to repaint it that beautiful blue color. Good luck getting those brakes fixed.
Love that panel wagon!
We want to see the other Robert lol.
Look at the weeds as grown around be careful spiders and snakes 🙃
Robert, I like classic vehicles. There is no better music to the ears than the sound of a V-8 engine!
I use those solar chargers to charge my lawn mower size batteries. Works great. But when it comes to car batteries... It can only maintain them.
I really enjoy your video's. My uncle had a truck similar to that one. It show's my age. Lol 😂
Did you notice your gas is on empty? That could be a problem. Enjoy your videos. Never know what you are going to be doing. You are making great progress with the homestead.
Gas gauge doesn’t work, no idea how much gas is in it ha
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG Gas gauge hasn't worked on my truck in 15 years. If I
don't hear it slosh behind the seat, I stop and fill up. lol
You can use Coke to clean the terminal off 😎 You may even have to check the Timing being the age of it 😎 That is if it is missing 😎
Lol I want to weed eat the vines so you can get in there and not get snake bit be careful
What would the panel truck have been used for when new? Bread truck? Grocery delivery? Blue could help bleed the brakes, he has 4 feet 😂
robert, where is cody? i hope he's well.
My 2016 Kia, has 2022 diesel in the tank. Does that also changes its year? Recovering a depleted battery does take many hours, sometimes days, just to condition them. It is certainly not a simple, easy process.
What happened to Aaron? I know he's been doing things at his place but is he not helping you anymore?

I was telling Aaron about a nice J3000 8 cyl 4x4 I found....he was less than enthusiastic about it....lol
For a second I thought that Wisteria had grabbed all four wheels
Me too
Wisteria has got to be one of those zombie plants that emerge to create havoc in all scenarios!
Cool truck! Are you looking to get your own tractor or lawn mower for the future?
I owned a battery shop in Statesboro for years. Secret to keeping corrosion off your ends is to use Vaseline. Interstate batteries are hot batteries. Hahahaha, you don't read comments. Eaglegards...
Cool tip
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG You're bad, you did read it.
I don't remember if you said, is it a small block or big block?
350 small block
it seem odd that it has a serpentine belt for a 66, normal was a few v-belts
for that time. is that a newer engine? check the SN on the engine.
Yes, it is a newer engine connected to a 5 speed out of a 2015 Camaro
That is neat! newer motor with a camaro 5 speed trans. I think it is

the only master cylinder i know of was the one on felix the cat cartoons.
It kinda looks like a old hearse 🤦🏼♀️👻

Correct my friend!
Hello from Ohio why don't you do like I used to pump the brakes and then take a stick and wedge the pedal down and then go bleed one then do it again
Hi Robert, please tell me you're gonna sand and paint that vehicle and restore it to its former glory 🤭
Robert likes the aged patina, to him how it looks now it tells its history
What’s your eBay store name? Selling anything from the house to help pay for it?
Just like my Devin who need brakes mom find a log or rock
Robert is that wisteria growing on the truck too? 😂😂😂😂
Junk the truck ?
Trade it for a lawnmower!
"HELP"!!!
You also need a something to cut your grass before it get out of hand again. Just saying
Did you figure what that flower that you could t identify? I suggest a spider mum if it isn’t dead by now.
crapazon 🙊
Why are you doing a truck when your house is in shit??
Like most of these videos aren’t working on the house? Dumb comment. Go away.
OOOHHH, so how much does Amazon charge for a Solar Frisbee?🥸
Right!
