Glad the seas were relatively calm for you. I was out there Tue evening and waves were crazy: it was simply too dangerous to effectively fish. Drove home and had a beer instead.
nice work! my buddy and I hit the jetty with the wild eye and the big hammer swim baits and caught 2 ling each. They were all a hair shy of legal, but by far the most success I've had on the jetty. Thanks for the recommendations
Glad to hear it, whether they were keepers or not, just finding some fish can make for an amazing day. Keep at it and you'll weed through the smaller ones and hopefully find a tank.. best of luck!
Thank you! You answered my question. Gloves! Were I fish a landing net is a must but I can see that would be a liability crawling around the rocks with the tide coming in. Is 20lb fluorocarbon leader enough on a 30 lb braided line?
Hi Nick, I love your videos and have subbed. What are some good shoes for walking/climbing around jetties and slippery rocks? I'm not worried about my feet getting wet, just that I have good traction. Keep up the great, inspiring work!
My merrell Moab 2s have always had really good grip on the jetty rocks, but I think any good work/hiking boot will do. You just have to be careful and be sure of your footing at all times.
haha i have my bad days too where i wonder why i just drove over two hours for bad conditions and no fish... you guys just get to see the good days. keep at it!
Spearfish the jetty surprised people including me don’t catch them every fast often so many in giant schools but hey spearfishing is great at least I get one every few dives rod is a bit of a challenge
I went out for a few hours just before the weekend but things warmed up quick. I'm hoping to get out early morning these next few days. This time of the year is usually harder for me to get out and fish. lure sales pick up and i spend a lot of time in the shop.. hoping to find some fish though!!
Thanks for the sub! haha ya i don't know if i have just been consistent with the luck lately or what, but i'm enjoying it while i can.. These last few trips have produced fish like i've never seen before.... maybe it's just a seasonal thing and after this it'll be back to the typical size...
great as always, Nick! I just came back from a central Oregon fishing trip. It was epic! Curious if you're planning on going fishing somewhere on the Crooked River or Deschutes?! That would be a great vid for your channel and an amazing time for you :) Keep those lines tight, man!
I had used some for a few fish in one of my other videos. I do like using them but usually if i am it is because i am still switching through baits looking for whats going to work and it's much easier to just swap out baits on a snap swivel but once i've found something that is working i go without.. i haven't seen enough of a difference in catching, but the easy swap out is a huge bonus that saves time
I haven't been in a while now but the last time i did we filled a cooler in no time, granted we were on a boat.. i do want to get out and catch some though while they are in, it's a lot of fun!
Yes it is a lot of fun ! Next week should be better then lasts since it was early season... it would be cool to make video on catching them then using for crabbing ! I I filled my freezer already so I’m going to get out there and try to get a few for the dinner plate ! Get one for each recipe ! Thanks for replying !

I've been 15 times to the jetties this year so far fully stocked with everything you've recommended. Are u magic or something I literally have not caught a thing and fed the ocean

Like to see a video about what is the best time of the day, what month, current speed, high low tide ratio, etc analysis for jetty rockfish in NW.
Great information Nick. Which jetty do you prefer for lingcod and cabezon?

Have you done any springer fishing this year?

Why 2 oz, the wind? Don’t you usually just use the 3/8 and 1/2?
New subscriber you make this look way to easy brotha. Those fish are of epic proportions. ✌🐟

Depends where your fishing man,. I’m in the Bay Area and those rockfish aren’t even down here cause the water isn’t warm enough yet.
WTG!!!!
Is it really necessary that you spot burn for what I perceive as narcissistic or monetary means?
Pretty sure I didn’t say where I was, unless “Oregon coast” is TMI lol and a narcissist? Are you for real?!
You need to get back on your meds and stay away from the water.
