Feel like what hurts to most with Star Wars is the potential it has…. But what we are getting is just not what we hoped for… just like with Marvel (atleast i) hope its what makes the changes and things are getting back on track (but i know it wont)
Its better my only complaint is Obi Wan facing Vader before a New Hope, it actually has more impact when the last time Vader saw Obi Wan, Obi Wan cut his limbs and left him burning, so when he fights Obi Wan on the death star he was on the defensive, and learned not to make the same mistake last time, which is also a good explanation on why the fight didn't look all that great. I don't care what anyone says George Lucas stated when he made the films that the last time Vader saw Obi Wan was on Mustafar. And when Vader said Obi Wan once thought that there was good in him, he was referencing that Obi Wan always thought he was good in the Prequels, and when Obi Wan found out about Anakin turn to the darkside he stopped believing that their is any good in Anakin. Also didn't like the whole inhibitor chips thing, its established that in Attack of the Clones the clones were indoctrinated to be loyal and less independent, I think it could still work for Cody to regret trying to betray Obi Wan and want to make things right. In fact, it would have made his character better that he resist his brainwashing and join Obi Wan, far better than the inhibitor chips.
I will never forgive Disney for how they handled the Kenobi series. And I will NEVER forget the original concept trailer from 2015-2016. GOOSEBUMPS. It looked like The Revenant but set in the desert. He suffered in isolation, learning to speak to Qui Gon, coming to terms with the fall of the Jedi…it was hard to watch. It was so painfully beautiful. I’ll never forget the shivers I got when I finally heard Qui Gon in the trailer. Disney has scrubbed the internet of the original concept trailer.
The poor aim of the storm troopers in A New Hope was an intentional by Darth Vader. He didn't want them dead, he wanted to track them, thus how they found the rebel base towards the end.
9:34 So it was too similar to Mando cause of the Lone Wolf and Cub thing between Kenobi and Luke... so... we did Kenobi and Leia... TOTALLY DIFFERENT lol
Obi wan knew the effects of watching your master die in front of you. I think in the moment he was dueling Vader on the Death Star, Obi Wan smirked realized it was his time…while Luke looked on. The reaction was the same as young Obi Wan, motivated him to fight harder.
Never thought of that! Perfect explanation! Only this time, while Qui-Gon was caught off-guard, Obi-Wan died willingly & knowing its significance. Luke gets his ghost-teacher’s help much earlier than young Obi did. ;D
Think Disney should have done more of the special presentations like what they did for werewolf by night or Guardians Christmas. A 45 to 60 minute mini movie. Like a comic book. No filler. Keep the main point the main point. Don’t add extra characters or plots that take away for the main plot. Just a quick adventure/story of a familiar character or introduce a new one. Star Wars could have done that with boba fett and obi wan. Marvel could have done it with she hulk and secret invasion.
Crying shame this didnt happen, crying shame we never got more Solo films too, I really wanted to see more of Qi'ra and Maul's Crimson Dawn. Ever since I was a teenager and ROTS came out I always took issue with "You were my brother Anakin, I loved you" to "Only a master of evil Darth" there was definitely a story there to tell!
Man... It really hurts to watch this knowing what we could've gotten... A high budgeted character study trilogy of films centering around Obi-Wan... With Vader/Anakin, Maul, Cody, and Qui-Gon being key elements to this overall story as they're all connected to Obi-Wan. The guilt that Obi-Wan has for Anakin can be attributed to his self blame of allowing Maul to kill Qui-Gon... It would've been perfect to have Maul in this story and wouldn't have taken away from anything... In fact, it ties up many loose ends with what happens to Maul and how he got stranded on Malachor... And how he appears to be familiar with Vader in Rebels. The character of Reva was painful to watch in the series as the whole show centered around her... She's the apparent victim... Ugh... At least with this, she's just a tool of the darkside who gets dispatched. I'm actually writing my own Obi-Wan story, taking small aspects of what was originally intended and utilizing a lot of my own ideas.
Dang, I just got to see this nice job again B&B. I can see why Disney chose the series route since it was popular then, and this was made around the time of the pandemic. That being said, A Star Wars trilogy on Kenobi would’ve been a nice way to not only gain new fans once the pandemic ended but also welcome back old ones to the theaters to Star Wars movies and could’ve added to help the theaters with possible financial hits. It just adds to Disney and Lucasfilms current trend of wasted potential and playing safe.
Commander Jet was originally a leading member of the 21 Nova Corps (Galactic Marines) under Clone Marshall Commander Bacara. It would've been cool to see Imperial Clones in action in the first film. I wonder how he would've went out... This script needs to be imagined in AI animation or in some format (including Maul in the trilogy showing how he loses control of Crimson Dawn and gets stranded on Malachor) I've been writing my own fan style story of this for the better part of 2 years.
Fantastic video and wish this would have been the story! I’m new to your channel but was wondering where/how did you come across this information? Thank you for the video!
We never got what the third film would be about. I wonder if it would've cover Maul and his loss of control of Crimson Dawn and him getting stranded on Malachor... Its a loose end that needs tied up properly. He could fight Vader as we heard in Rebels Maul is familiar with him...
I super agree. we needed a movie instead of a series. I hate Disney for changing Solo's original version by firing the original directors which lead what we have today.
I definitely think the whole thing with bringing back Commander Cody would have been amazing, seeing the back and forth banter between him and Kenobi would bring an element of humor to an otherwise dark story. Also, I would have loved seeing the "Force vision" duel between Obi-Wan and adult Luke on Mustafar, that would be epic!
Um this sounds so much better than what we got. And the inclusion of Codi staying back to watch Luke would have made so much more sense and given a better reason and motivation for Obi Wan to feel ok leaving the planet.
Man, that trilogy would have been so much awesome, even better than the product that we got. That Battle against full grown up Luke and the one vs Vader would be so awesome. Good videos as always say man.
There was this scene in a novelization of Obi Wans life i read as a kid where this ex Jedi now runs with Tusken Raiders and they're going to raid the Lars farm or something and Obi Wan takes him on in a duel. I forget the name of the guy, he was a big character in legends I think, but I wish they brought back that storyline or something like that where it's more scaled back and have Obi Wan becoming this Ronin type figure we get a glimpse of in A New Hope
Dang another movie I really wish we got and didn’t! Sounds like a very cool story and I love the idea of bringing back Darth Maul and commander Cody too! Definitely a lost opportunity!
Reality is often disappointing. I blame all this on TLJ. If it weren't for Rian Johnson, people would've at least given Solo a chance and continue on with this.
Yeah. It was honestly such a shame seeing Solo in the cinema when it came out, it was fun and showed a grittier side to the setting like we haven't seen before, but literally the theatre room was literally empty, and it was like the opening week.
I heard recently that another reason "Kenobi" didn't become a movie was the change in Disney leadership; Bob Chapek thought that streaming episodes would have more revenue than films made for theaters, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic...
Commander Jet appeared in Star Wars the Clone Wars S2 E5 “Landing at Point Rain” where he leads Special Ops and Flame Thrower troopers in the 2nd Battle of Geonosis.
Deb chow shows she doesnt know what fans want! This script is awesome and we all wanted to see the scene from Rebels as live action. Wouldve tied into Ezra and gang pefectly. The symmetry of obi wans vision fighting luke to mustafar and lukes dagaboh scene…👍🏻
Of all the Star Wars lore that Disney bolloxed up Obi Wan was the one that should and could have been a slam dunk if only they'd done it right. But alas the dark side is strong within the House of Mouse, though they've definitely been reaping what they've sown. Thanks again for another great video!
If only we had gotten this originally planned Kenobi trilogy. Stuart Beattie clearly is a Star Wars fan who put a lot of care and thought into his script and planned films. I don't understand why Disney would think even changing from film to tv that they should have replaced Beattie and so much of his fantastic story.
I don’t think Obi-Wan and Vader ever met after the “high ground” scene. In New Hope Vader says something to the effect of “We meet again, at last. When I left you, I was but a learner now I am the master. The fact is, Star Wars (A New Hope) was a movie no one ever thought would do anything at the box office. Lucas had nothing more that very loose ideas and concepts for any more stories. Everything after was put together by the seat of the pants, what’s why there are so many inconsistencies in the SW universe.
this version is infinitely more interesting and well written. it actually had the things we liked and wouldn’t drag out the run time more than it needed to.
Star Wars fans need to start petitioning and protesting outside of Disney studios and Lucasfilm if they want things to change. Disney needs remake episode 9 with Colin’s original idea because it’s a great story
Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence were considered for the role of Mace Windu. Ice cube was the front runner but got the flu the second day of auditions and it eventually went to Samuel L Jackson. Crazy.
The original plans for the Obi-Wan Kenobi trilogy would have featured a different storyline, including Darth Maul's return, Obi-Wan's confrontation with a vision of an adult Luke Skywalker, and the redemption of Commander Cody. Key moments: 00:00 Disney planned a standalone Obi-Wan Kenobi Trilogy with a unique storyline involving Obi-Wan, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Maul, but the project was eventually scrapped, leaving fans curious about what could have been. -The initial plan for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Trilogy included Obi-Wan leaving Tatooine, encountering Darth Vader, and exploring a different dynamic between the characters, diverging from the existing narrative in the Star Wars universe. -Writer Stuart Bey's pitch for the Obi-Wan film impressed Lucasfilm, leading to the development of a script that envisioned a unique evolution of Obi-Wan's character, setting the stage for a planned trilogy that aimed to delve into different aspects of the Jedi's journey. 03:22 The movie script for Obi-Wan Kenobi would have included former clone troopers with biochips, a different version of Reva, and a major role for Commander Cody, adding depth and complexity to the storyline. -The decision to exclude the Grand Inquisitor and create the character of Reva to add suspense and uncertainty to the story. -Commander Cody's redemption arc with the removal of his inhibitor chip and his guilt over attempting to kill Kenobi, showcasing a deeper narrative for the character. -Obi-Wan's disconnectedness from the Force, inspired by Superman 2, and his journey back to surrendering to the will of the Force, leading to a powerful moment at the end of the film. 06:44 Obi-Wan's alternate storyline in a canceled Star Wars spin-off film is explored, including his relationship with Cody, attempt to turn Vader, and acceptance of sacrifice, leading to the pivot to Disney+ series. -Exploration of Obi-Wan's dynamic with Cody and potential storyline involving bounty hunters and a sarlac pit, adding depth to their relationship. -Obi-Wan's pivotal moment of trying to turn Vader to the light side, leading to a confrontation and realization of Vader's true identity. -Obi-Wan's journey towards accepting his sacrifice in 'A New Hope' through prophecy or guidance from Qui-Gon, setting the stage for his role as a force ghost. Bill Cosby is wrong as been considered as Kenobi, He is a black person. Are you kidding us??
came here from a reaction channel .. I am openly crying at work ..
It's like a million voices suddenly cried out in pain.
I bet the original writer leaked this script to make up for having his name in the credits of the series.
I love how the first director used the very source material to make his point about Kenobi leaving Tatooine
My weekend is immediately better with a Bullets and Blockbusters video. Also I love how passionate this channel is about Star Wars, it feels real.
Thanks :)
@@Bulletsandblockbustersyou dh do viddo un th u made bobba fet solo movie later on and wht sbut viddo onnth unmade neverending story remake from 2009
I can look into it
I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention how glad I am that I discovered this channel. I don’t know if you are using some insider info on these videos or just doing an exceptional job of weaving already available info into really well articulated stories but keep up the great work. This channel is one of my favorite watches.
The hell are you talking about weirdo
The poor aim of the storm troopers in A New Hope was an intentional by Darth Vader. He didn't want them dead, he wanted to track them, thus how they found the rebel base towards the end.
this sounds so much better, the thing that sold it for me was the buddy cop energy between Cody and Obi-Wan
4:26 - 4:48
Vader: "GGs"
Sidoius: "touché"
Obi Wan knew he had mere hours to live when he rescued Luke from the sand people.
"Oh. He's not dead."
Rolls his eyes, knowingly..
"Not yet"
9:34 So it was too similar to Mando cause of the Lone Wolf and Cub thing between Kenobi and Luke... so... we did Kenobi and Leia... TOTALLY DIFFERENT lol
Ohhhh look at you growing and gaining ad spots! Congratulations…keep it up. Really enjoy your content!
6:25 that would be brilliant and would explain why Obi-Wan did not train Luke.
Luke gets his ghost-teacher’s help much earlier than young Obi did. ;D
Imagine how the series would've been if the budget, writing and direction were on point
Great video! I hope Obi pops up again in future movies. We need to see him on the big screen again!
Fantastic Kenobi Story! I would have loved to see it on the big screen. Thanks for sharing it with us. Great video 😎👍👍
Yes , I totally agree with you. It's straight to the point and that's it.
Sidious “You should have killed him while when you had the chance”
Vader “I’m about to end this man’s whole career”
Why is it, when the original script is revealed it ends up being way better then what we got. Who allowing this to happen?
Some woman nobody likes
A few times an original script getting leaked leads to fan outcry over how terrible it is, leading to rewrites.
Maul: "Kathleen, she's the key to all this.
Ahsoka: to bring balance?"
Maul: "To destory"
Opened TH-cam at the perfect time 🎉
Were you surprised that you closed your gay porn sites for once?
This is much more amazing than what we got. Disney Star Wars is full of issues, mostly starting with The Last Jedi which absolutely divided the fans.
Who else is here after watching Star Wars Theory’s interview with Kenobi writer Stuart Beattie?
Yet another fantastic, wonderfully researched expose! Awesome channel!
Thank you kindly!
As always: Fantastic video, great work, wish it was 2-3x longer :) I'm always so sad when your videos end.
Thanks! I may do compilation videos in the future
Everything you describe is infinitely cooler and truer to the source material than anything Disney could conjure up
Do you have a source for any of this? Is ANY of this actually verifiable?
This channel is so awesome. Love the research and the facts. Keep going!
Thanks for the kind words and will do!
God, I love this channel so much.
Solo should have been a series while Kenobi should have been a movie 😂
Thanks! Beatty spills all in a few interviews.
my day just got better bullets and blockbusters just dropped a new video
We never got what the third film would be about. I wonder if it would've cover Maul and his loss of control of Crimson Dawn and him getting stranded on Malachor... Its a loose end that needs tied up properly. He could fight Vader as we heard in Rebels Maul is familiar with him...
3:33 They were intentionally missing in this scene; the empire is letting them leave in order to track them to the rebel base
Also, I would have loved seeing the "Force vision" duel between Obi-Wan and adult Luke on Mustafar, that would be epic!
i’m ngl that “two threats” part between emperor and vader woulda been so cold😭
Um this sounds so much better than what we got. And the inclusion of Codi staying back to watch Luke would have made so much more sense and given a better reason and motivation for Obi Wan to feel ok leaving the planet.
Man, that trilogy would have been so much awesome, even better than the product that we got.
That Battle against full grown up Luke and the one vs Vader would be so awesome.
Good videos as always say man.
SUCH A SHAME that we didn't get this
There was this scene in a novelization of Obi Wans life i read as a kid where this ex Jedi now runs with Tusken Raiders and they're going to raid the Lars farm or something and Obi Wan takes him on in a duel.
Based on all of Disney’s other SW efforts, it’s a miracle that Rogue One was as good as it was (ignoring the fat/fluff in the middle) …
And Andor
Reality is often disappointing. I blame all this on TLJ. If it weren't for Rian Johnson, people would've at least given Solo a chance and continue on with this.
Yeah. It was honestly such a shame seeing Solo in the cinema when it came out, it was fun and showed a grittier side to the setting like we haven't seen before, but literally the theatre room was literally empty, and it was like the opening week.
Man this would have been so much better than what we got.
We were on the verge of greatness, we were *this* close
Minor correction, he doesn’t encounter the homeless clone on Coruscant.
Of all the Star Wars lore that Disney bolloxed up Obi Wan was the one that should and could have been a slam dunk if only they'd done it right. But alas the dark side is strong within the House of Mouse, though they've definitely been reaping what they've sown. Thanks again for another great video!
💯
If only we had gotten this originally planned Kenobi trilogy. Stuart Beattie clearly is a Star Wars fan who put a lot of care and thought into his script and planned films. I don't understand why Disney would think even changing from film to tv that they should have replaced Beattie and so much of his fantastic story.
This would’ve been literally one of the best products to come from Disney Star Wars. And that’s saying something since Reva is still in it!
Thanks for the amazing video ❤️. Big Star Wars fan
This sounds 10000x better
I honestly like this version better.
Interesting video. Where did you pull this information from?
Beatty discusses it in several interviews
This is miles better than what we got!
That last nugget of truth blows my mind… what if TLJ didn’t crap on everything we knew of Star Wars? We may still have successful films coming out…. 😢
How could they have all the right answers sitting in their lap, and still come to the wrong conclusion... Disney...
The Cody stuff sounds amazing. I wonder if Hayden would have returned as Anakin though. If nothing else, maybe that’s the saving grace of the show.
this version is infinitely more interesting and well written. it actually had the things we liked and wouldn’t drag out the run time more than it needed to.
This actually sounds amazing, especially with the Cody and Owen subplot. I feel so deprived!
Disney has had ample opportunities to make satisfying productions that make sense, but refuse every time.
Now that's the story I wished we would have gotten.
Star Wars fans need to start petitioning and protesting outside of Disney studios and Lucasfilm if they want things to change. Disney needs remake episode 9 with Colin’s original idea because it’s a great story
This sounds significantly better than what we got. Like actually good
Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence were considered for the role of Mace Windu.
Key moments:
00:00 Disney planned a standalone Obi-Wan Kenobi Trilogy with a unique storyline involving Obi-Wan, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and Darth Maul, but the project was eventually scrapped, leaving fans curious about what could have been.

Damn, the way these movies would have played out if they kept the original script would have been AMAZING, shame we were robbed of this!
This is 10x better
How and why?
@@GODCONVOYPRIME Much more focused plot for one thing, bringing Leah into the story makes no sense. Reva is no longer a main player but merely a pawn of Vader as all inquisitors should be. It pays homage to the Prequel Trilogy while also explaining in a more coherent way how Obi Wan became the man we knew in ANH.
