Something I’m sad we never got to see was Flashpoint Batman portrayed by Jeffery Dean Morgan, alongside Lauren Cohan’s Joker. They were brilliantly cast as Bruce’s parents in BvS, perfectly setting them up for these characters
When I saw him in BvS (knowing the rumors about a Flashpoint movie) I was really excited to see what Snyder would do with him. I feel like Flashpoint is the kind of movie he should direct.
@@kingofhearts3185 as much I think that the actors are unfortunately probably past the point of wanting to do it, I’d adore it for Snyder to make Flashpoint

@@carlosrvra I get the feeling Morgan would not play Batman for just anybody, and it would need to be something completely different. He must have been interested in Snyder’s vision and the story of Flashpoint Batman
Yet another proof of how out of touch the WB executives are. The MCU didn't succeed because of the stupid jokes but thanks to years of " world building " and character development but what else could we expect from the people who gave us Batman & Robin?
Character development is when the main character funds for drone warfare programs on 3 seperate occasions, all Leading to disastrous results... such great writing
@@MOCguy1you can apply the same argument to DC as well. Yes, people know of batman and superman but the other characters need proper introductions as well. If DC thought the same as you it was arrogance on their part.

Wb executives made the right call shooting that down.
Speaking of Justice League, I really wish the 2011 Will Beall script Ben Affleck was offered to direct was online. The script’s story is online, but not the actual script. It sounds really good and would make a good What Could Have Been video
I'm not sure I would agree with you. The end goal might sound great but you have to be able to build up to it. The missteps before JL are the issue to me. Retconning man of steel into the synderverse was probably not a great idea and was a mediocre film. BvS was also mediocre as well. He needed is Iron Man and did not have one. As per the video, they had already lost faith in him. Hopefully Gunn has the ability that synder lacked.
I agree, the true villains were brothers. If they didn't rush into JL so they can compete with Marvel and took their time in building a universe it could've worked.

The biggest injustice done to the fan's is we never got Affleck solo Batman. Dealing with his rogues Deathstroke and Joker would've been pretty good if done correct. Under Affleck's directing it would've been awesome.
Honestly it was for the better to never see Affleck’s Batman movie, especially with Jared Leto’s Joker been supposedly in it. Who in the world would even want to see him back after the negative reception of Jared’s take on the role, especially after Morbius and the allegations against him.
@@luisquintero7359 I disagree. In the glimpses of interaction between Batman and Joker, they are old time foes at this point. There is a lot of personal hatred between them and not just a clash of good and evil like their previous iteration. I think it will be good in a dark way if done CORRECTLY. Sad to say, I don't think the studios or Snyder even to be able to do that.
The problem with BvS is that it was three movies in one: Batman v. Superman, the introduction of the Justice League, and the death of Superman/Doomsday. Any one of those stories would have been enough; all three was overkill.

ZS is an amazing visual film maker. He knows the best art director, costume design, and set design. He knows how to get the best shots, make these heroes look good… but the guy can’t write a solid story or character development to save his life. I honestly believe these movies would’ve done a lot better if they just tried to set themselves apart from MCU. Instead of showing superhero’s in our modern day. The JL would’ve fit a lot better in the 40’s/50’s, or 70’s. Make their costumes look like Alex Ross’s artwork, classic. Set the universe in the silver age of comics.
@@loselot6044Exactly. Why do Snyder fans ignore this detail about Zack Snyder. His Henry Cavill Superman didn't connect with general audiences and he wanted to CUCKHOLD Superman

Not always a fan of Snyder, but I like some of these ideas and I do feel like, as usual, a version of these films that was more in line with Snyders vision, with more minimal notes outside, would have been better than what we got. Giving him full control would have been flawed for sure, but the studio did not make the right moves, by any means.
If there’s one good thing that came out of WB moving away from Snyder’s vision, is that fans won’t have to see Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex ever again. God I’m glad that garbage take is being rebooted with James Gunn’s casting of Nicholas Hoult as Lex.
@@danielmallory4687 oh yeah, I'm certain. I've heard that before. Really though, comic book movies are usually adaptations that take loose ideas from other stories using these characters.
@retromacman620 I mean the biggest issue is injustice has the 2 games the animated movie and far too many comics I applaud who ever In DC said the plots are too overplayed and from what I saw the movie would have done it worse anyway (technically second worst as a doubt it could be worst than the animated one)also the movie seemed to be beat for beat
I was never a fan of Jared Leto's joker but that one scene at the end of ZSJL totally redeemed him in my eyes it's just a shame we're never gonna get another sequel
To be fair he got beaten up pretty badly during his first invasion on Earth. Also most of adaptations do show him loosing from heavy punches of Superman
Love triangle between Bruce, Clark, and Lois sounds absolutely horrible. The thing about the DCEU is yeah WB did no favors in helping it succeed but honestly Zack's ideas were also just awful.
Very awful. I like the Superman and Batman connection in the animated movie for example where some of the heroes are working for Lex, but Superman and Batman won't cause they know Lex hasn't changed. Two scenes for instance stand out with their friendship. The one where Superman has a Kryptonite bullet in him and having to deal with Metallo. Batman tries to get it out , Superman makes a joke. Batman says do me a favor lose the humor, Superman replies do me a favor and buy one. Through out the movie they have each other's backs. Also scene where Superman grabs Lex telling him he basically just set Batman to his death blasting the rocket ship he is in and says that was my best friend. Moments like that and through the Justice League animated series, there is a mutual respect between them. To do a movie where Clark is gone, Bruce gives in to feelings for her and hooks up with her is horrible. Bruce has had plenty of love interests he could have pursued, plus in the comics he is a good looking wealthy man. He could get a woman easily. He don't need to get freaky with his best friends woman.
I don't think this will ever happen, but I would love to read this story as oversized hardcover OGNs with page layouts by Snyder, dialogue script by Chris Terrio, and painted artwork by Lee Bermejo.

Even after following all the twists and turns in the development of the Snyderverse, finally hearing how all the plot threads would've connected in Justice League 2 and 3 has scratched a 10-year itch for me. That would've been awesome.
The thing nobody ever mentions about BvS is that one of the things that definitely killed the movie in its egg is when they revealed Doomsday in the trailer. Definitely could have been a great twist to discover while watching the movie. No, show everything all the time is the marketing motto of the last 10 years.
Nobody mention it because nothing comes close to Matha. There are lots of trailers revealing key plots in movies but still do well with audiences. And with Batman and Superman in one movie, it is literally unimaginable that revealing plot points will make a difference to movie goers.
No it wouldnt have fixed anything lol. The biggest issue was the pacing, lack of comedy, and bad representation of comic book characters in live action
Comedy can be balanced. We didn't immediately go from something like Winter Soldier to Love and Thunder. I don't like too much comedy either but ZS wanted the DCEU to be soulless like Watchmen. All grey and dark for no reason
Because they make movies for kids, and casuals. This is the demographic they want to fill theaters because their numbers are vastly more numerous than comic book fans / nerds. Movie investors want their investment to have a return and Hollywood math says "a movie for everybody" is the best way to achieve that. If you look at the Canadian, American and British tv shows, movies but I find more so Tv shows, there is this huge injection of Comedy. Everyone is sarcastic, snarky, punny. It's like these people are afraid to do anything...grounded...real...gritty.
Hollywood is just reactive. It does what it thinks or sees make money. Everyone loved the gritty Dark Knight trilogy, so everything went edgy for a time (Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man) until BvS flopped because everyone said it was 'too dark', meanwhile the gag-heavy Guardians of the Galaxy made bank, so films began chasing that tone instead (Unalive Squad, Love & Thunder)
Tell that to Deadpool and Wolverine. Grossed more than any Snyder movie in a few days. And I'm all for serious films without comedy. But they need to tell a great story, something I don't think Snyder ever accomplished in the DCEU. His movies feel dark (which is great) but also lifeless.
This would've been absolutly wild but I remember at one point during the development of ONE version of the Flash, Will Farrell was rumored to be in consideration for Reverse-Flash
Yeah I would’ve a problem with the love triangle thing cause it would be too weird. Batman isn’t in love with Lois, he’s in love with Diana, Selina, Talia, and many others. Otherwise he’s not looking for a relationship
It would have been very weird but I don’t think the issue is Bruce being in love with Lois. This version of Batman would have only had one solo Batman movie and it’s not like Snyder was going for comic accuracy in his films. But the whole Lois being pregnant with Bruce’s baby would have caused an outrage amongst Superman fans for sure.

I wouldnt say he didnt like superman. He just didnt understand him and also the "cucking" scenario is just another one of Snyder's way of to show how "realistic" and dark his universe is. It's the reason he said batman would get "graped" in his movies too.

I'm in the minority of people who enjoyed BvS (for the most part) and Zack Snyder's Justice League. These other films mentioned here, sounded even better to me! I especially liked Ray Fisher's take on Cyborg and was hoping to see him get his own solo movie.
A few things we lost out on when the original DCEU plan changed: *Rick Famuyiwa was one of several directors who was hired/eventually left The Flash due to creative differences with WB. Famuyiwa's Flash film was described as a mature, yet upbeat story featuring Captain Cold as one of the main villains. Snyder and Famuyiwa developed the idea of Reverse-Flash being the overarching villain of the DCEU. *Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps never made it far into development before Snyder left. **GLC constantly changed and went in and out of development as leadership at DC Films changed until it eventually entered development as the streaming series Lanterns after James Gunn was hired to co-head the DCU. **Ray Fisher expressed a desire for Famuyiwa to direct Cyborg and for the film to feature the Phantom Limbs as the main villains. *Man of Steel 2 went in and out of development before being canned in favor of James Gunn's "Superman: Legacy". Several ideas for MoS2 included Brainiac being the main villain, Superman struggling with his guilt over killing Zoe, and Zod's army escaping the Phantom Zone and Superman teaming up with them to stop Brainiac. *Ben Affleck's The Batman would've been the Arkham games mixed with David Fincher's The Game, featuring Deathstroke as the main villain along with the Riddler and possibly the Joker. Alfred Pennyworth would've been killed off, which would've tied in with the plans for JL2&3. Batgirl would've been a major supporting character.
I really wish we could have gotten this version of the DCEU. I appreciate that Snyder was able to make something so different from the MCU, and that storyline and vision really needed to be finished.

That original plan seems a lot more like the interconnected DC animated films; maybe someday after they've got a "yay" or "nah" on the success of the Gunnverse, they'll take Snyder's original idea and make a three part animated film. I could see them trying to milk the fandom of the Snyderverse one more time, and maybe directing an animated project could be up Snyder's alley. Get the original cast to do VA and I think Waner Bros would see enough dollar signs to green light it.
This tells you everything that’s wrong with Hollywood today. Studio executives who think they know what we want say “avengers have a few jokes, that must be why everyone liked it…give the barking seals comedy!” They destroy a good directors creative vision for some mainstream bullshit they think we want. We lost out huge not seeing the 3 part snyderverse justice league. The story is so riveting I would love to see it.
Given how bad every Snyder film was in the DCEU and since the DCEU, I think WB were incredibly smart not to let him keep going. Almost every movie lost the studio money. Could you imagine losing hundreds of millions and then saying "well wait till I've finished my artistic vision because people will love it".
The blame goes to both Snyder and WB. BVS could've been good if WB understood what fans wanted. Someone at WB should've told Snyder that Superman needs to smile, gives us a better Lex Luthor, scrap Doomsday, no forced JL set up and a better script. 0:02 LOOK AT THAT!!! ..the dude was BORN to play Bruce (Ben) Batman; BBB!.. just never got proper opportunity to do so within grounded reality outside the absurd cartoonist "Snyderverse".
Zack Snyder's darker, more intricate take on the DC Extended Universe sparked a debate about how much freedom a director should have versus studio needs. His unique style, though it had its fans, clashed with Warner Bros.' desire for a lighter, more commercially appealing direction, reminiscent of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This tug-of-war between artistic vision and mass appeal suggests that maybe Snyder's DCEU could have thrived as an 'Elseworlds' series, allowing him to explore his ideas freely without the pressure of fitting into a larger universe. It's important for studios to know when to step in and when to let directors be. Warner Bros. intervening in "Wonder Woman 1984" or changing Snyder's controversial Batman-Lane plotline was probably for the best. But too much interference, as seen in "Justice League" post-Snyder, can strip a film of its creative essence. The DCEU's mixed bag of successes and missteps shows that while studios should aim for hits, they also need to respect a director's creative vision. The sweet spot is in balancing unique directorial voices with the broader cinematic universe's goals, ensuring both artistic depth and audience appeal.
Also important to mention how the continuity of the universe was also messed up by WB very early on: -Wonder Woman was supposed to tease the Mother Boxes (now a deleted scene on TH-cam) -BvS was supposed to tease Lex's involvement with Steppenwolf (as seen in the Ultimate cut) which would explain why he knew so much stuff about everything and everyone. -Suicide Squad was supposed to reveal Joker and Enchantress were working with Steppenwolf to prepare for Darkseid after Superman died -SS was also supposed to end with Enchantress giving some powers to Joker, which would explain how he survived the apocalyptic future and why he knew vital information such as the location of kryptonite -Same movie, Harley is said to have been involved in the death of Robin, which is quite impossible as Robin's death was the reason the Joker got sent to Arkham where he met Harley. The director stated this was an error introduced by the editing team -BvS wasn't supposed to have Doomsday at all And a fun fact, The Riddler loses his mind after solving the Omega Equation because he believed he had solved the ultimate puzzle and there was nothing else to do with his life after that.
The MCU was built from the foundation to the pent house. The Snyder-verse was built with the pent house first. The foundation and the the rest of the story was left to nothing, with no support for the pent house. Eventually the foundation collapsed in the DCEU. The MCU is repeating its formula and is running into its own problems. We will see what happens next with both the DCU and the MCU.
@@williamdaviddiazcuchimaque7511 Thank god for google translation Sounds accurate. But if you didn't have the bad movies, the good ones wouldn't look so good.
Have you see the current stocks and upcoming Superman movie costume? The Snyderverse is destined to return and even Gunn is afraid of that as well. Profits were high regardless what critics thought during the Snyderverse era. They started plummeting as soon as he left and now Netflix is near the top of the charts. Only thing that is keeping Snyder's movies frowned upon is Rotten Tomatoes, Snyder Critics, and the Gunn with his other stooges. Justice League 2 and 3 is inevitable and there is nothing nobody can do to stop it. Not even the DCU at this point.
Some interesting ideas, but having Batman and Lois Lane hook up seems a little too far out there. I'm curious to know if Warner wanted a humorous approach from the very beginning. If so, why did they hire Snyder? Humor is definitely not his strong suit. But the biggest lesson here is that panic moves almost never work. Trying to abruptly reverse course with the Justice League film and go with a lighter tone was a disaster.
They actually wanted to stay as far away from a light tone as they could after Superman Returns performed poorly. They wanted Nolan to do with Superman what he did with Batman, but he had no interest and recommended Snyder after loving his Watchmen. Even then, it was meant to be a one and done with Snyder with maybe being involved in Man of Steel 2, but then Avengers happened, WB wanted that money too, so they enticed him with going all out with full creative control and well it sadly went poorly for everyone. As someone who became a fan of Snyder in my youth with his Dawn remake, I was really confused he was picked to spearhead DC. I was optimistic, but not surprised with the results. I am happy he's doing his own thing and that DC can get another shot with Gunn.
You know, thinking about it some more your last statement hits like a truck, WB shoots itself on the foot with panic move after panic move and it's been like that since Reeve's Superman, Keaton's Batman, and more with the ONLY exception being Nolan's trilogy.
How is this Zack Snyder's fault exactly? He was hired to do a job, he did it, but Warner Brother's obsession with Marvel led to the catastrophic failure.
@@aaroneclipse514 Didn't say it was his fault. He did it in his style, and Watchmen was a good example of that style. WB seemed like they didn't know what page they were on till way late
This is my favorite video you've done. Great summary and analysis of Snyder's plans -- I had never heard them presented so sequentially and coherently. I would have enjoyed seeing these movies as you described them, especially Superman's arc.
@@BulletsandblockbustersI love Snyder visuals but he is not good storyteller. He should've been like an adviser and oversee the consistency like Kevin Feige
Though I don’t personally agree with Snyder’s vision for the DCEU, I can respect that he was trying to do something different. My main issue with this overall pitch is that this would work better as a dark alternate universe, however, he was hired to write a theatrical interpretation of the Justice League that would serve as the introduction to the team to many casual audience members. I feel that you should start with the more hopeful interpretation of them and then move onto a dark AU
This is incorrect information. This was the initial plans BEFORE Chris Terrio came onboard and the group decided to change direction. The reason Batman v Superman was moved from 2015 to 2016 was because they decided to map out the whole arc differently. This is why Metallo was removed from the original script and why Doomsday was brought in as the physical antagonist. Justice League was changed as a result and Steppenwolf was introduced as the villain which wasn’t the initial idea that would have led to these two other justice league films. Justice League Part II would have had the justice league meet with the Green Lantern Corps and New Genesis to attack Darkseid in Apocalypse. The attack would have failed and Part III would have had a final stand on earth. Batman being the father wasn’t inspired by war films but because of the legends of King Arthur. Snyder was heavily inspired by the story and the film Excalibur, and influences of it can be seen in BvS. The poster of the film can be seen in the beginning and Superman’s death mirrors King Arthur. Batman being the father was inspired by the relationship of Sir Lancelot and Guinevere. Flashpoint was meant to happen and was going to show the original timeline as well. That was the first film but the second flash film would have involved the Legion of Doom. Oh and JL part one was supposed to originally have a fight of Steppenwolf and the original Doomsday. The reason why the original plans were revealed and not the intended ones is because Zack Snyder hopes to one day direct his vision and wanted to keep the movement alive. This is similar to how he designed the Superman suit in JL to be capable of being digitally altered to Black if he would eventually have the chance. Also, it’s pretty obvious Warner Bros. execs were bought out by Disney. Infinity War and Endgame have way too many similarities to what Snyder was planning and they greatly differ from Infinity Gauntlet storyline. There’s also a couple of inconsistencies with what ended up being Infinity War and Endgame as a result. Geoff Johns is close to Kevin Feige as well. There’s a reason why Warner Bros made a bunch of bad decisions to become bankrupt and tarnish the DC brand.
The worst part of the SnyderVerse is definitely hiring Jose Whedon to do reshoots for Justice League and the Ezra Miller Allegations. With James Gunn’s upcoming DCU, I’m looking forward to seeing Superman: Legacy and I know it would fix the mistakes Man of Steel and I really didn’t like how the SnyderVerse portrayed Superman even if Henry Cavill was a great casting choice for the character. For Batman, I’m really satisfied with Robert Pattinson portraying the character and I’m looking forward to seeing the future of Battinson and I personally want him to be a part of the new DCU even if it’s in the DC Elseworlds Slate. Plus, I don’t mind another actor playing DCU Batman, but I still prefer Battinson as my Main Modern Movie Batman.

man i really hope we sometime get to see either a full on snyderverse, an actual good connected DC universe and a good marvel universe on the big screens
BvS didn’t work because of this rush to get all the characters out there. Time should’ve been give to allow characters to develop and interact with each other
THIS!! Exactly this... The snyderverse was flawed from the beggining, we should have had a at least 4 solo movies before BVS, the way it presents all the characters through camera videos was very... anticlimatic. I'm not saying Snyder is bad, however this universe needed more work from the beggining, if things were done right, we would be watching JL2, WW3, BATMAN 2, MAN OF STEEL 3, GREEN LANTERN, THE FLASH 2. however everything went down the drain because of how uncommited they were to the whole universe and the incredible (yet not perfect) Snyder vision.
I think what they did to him was abhorrent when instead of stopping to change direction and admit they made a mistake they tried to do an end run around the creative process and made things so much worse. Having said that you will never convince me that Snyder was the right choice for this series. His 'Watchmen' was great but that should have been all the evidence you need that Snyder should never have tried to make a traditional superhero movie. It's not where his interest lies.
It's always hard to imagine "what could have been" with so many moving parts in this saga. But ONE thing I do approve of is that long term planning to reboot and reintroduce characters after 10+ years. Just about everything has a shelf life. This is why I thought the DC New 52 line should have been marketed as character shifts every 52 issues. That way different fans could have jumped on board for different iterations of the characters, with legacy fans knowing that their version would return the following cycle.
You ever gonna do videos on Men in Black II and X-Men Origins? I remember reading that the original versions for both movies were way different from the final product.
Joss Whedon said he was burnt out from the Marvel execs telling him Avengers 2 had to be 'funny', set up Ragnarok, Civil War, the infinity war, etc... If I were WB, I'd have greenlit Joss Whedon to create his own Justice League movie, no strings, no mandates, just tell him to make the Avengers look like a saturday morning cartoon. Then get Snyder to consult on some action set pieces (the only thing I htink he can do well as shown by the warehouse fight scene).
What's sad is Whedon never wanted to take over for Snyder. He reluctantly accepted because of Snyder's daughter and that DC promised to let him make a Batgirl film. In the end though they didn't let him make Batgirl but made it themselves. A film so bad it is legally not allowed to be released to the public. I hope James Gunn considers giving Whedon a movie in his new universe.

The problem with the Snyderverse is that everything felt rushed. The MCU was successful because they had solo movies introducing the heroes and then teamed them up. A solid formula. If WB would've gave everyone a solo movie and then teamed them up for Justice League would've been better but intead they rushed everything.
WB executives are the biggest villains in the story of the DCEU. They're the ones who hired the writer and director of The Dark Knight Trilogy (to write and exec. produce MoS), and wanted it to have a similar tone - thus why it's dark and gloomy. They're the ones who, despite MoS being a success, panicked because it didn't make Avengers levels of money, and rushed to introduce Batman instead of giving us the planned MoS2. The WB execs were the ones who cut 30 mins of the runtime of BvS so they could screen more showings in an attempt to get more money, but ultimately ruined the movie instead, meaning less people wanted to watch it. Thus why the directors cut is heralded as being far far better. They're the ones who screwed over David Ayer and butchered his movie, turning it into a glorified music video. They screwed over Zack Synder every step of the way. And no where is it more obvious than the cringingly gross Josstice Leauge and the infinitely better Snyder Cut. I'm not going to pretend Snyder's takes on these characters are perfect. Just want to point out he does get way too much hate and blame for what happened. When most of the time he was following orders from WB execs. And movies like MoS and BvS he didn't even write. People always seem to forget the guy who wrote Nolan's Batman movies is the guy who wrote MoS and co-wrote BvS. Snyder's writing credits are on the first WW movie and his own Justice League film. And credit where credit is due, that movie did a great job with Cyborg and Flash in particular. Now we have the sequel to the DCEU.... James Gunn's DCU.... where he is the villain.
WB deserves a lot of flack for the way the DCEU turned out, but this video also confirms to me that Snyder is just a bad fan fiction writer, and I don't particularly mind that we never saw his full vision come to fruition.
I actually liked Snyder’s idea of showing Superman’s progression into the the hero we know him to be cause that’s something never really showed in live action or in animated form like in Superman the movie he is taken on a years long journey with the spirit of his biological father and when he returns to reality he automatically has the suit and his morals for example but if u pay attention to man of steel it’s not designed to be a full cinematic universe starter it actually meant to be a start of a new series of Superman movies and that’s the first problem cause when u make the decision to pivot to a full cinematic universe when your first movie doesn’t set that up that’s where in inconsistencies start to begin
I have such mixed feelings about “what could have been” as far as the Snyderverse goes. I thought Man of Steel was maybe one of the most boring movies I’ve ever watched, I thought BvS was unbelievably stupid (but still oddly entertaining thanks entirely to Affleck) and I thought the theatrical cut of Justice League was perhaps one of the worst things I’d ever watched. Yet, after viewing the Snyder cut, it admittedly left me wanting more because it was actually so much better than I could have ever expected. That’s not even the “low expectations” talking! It was genuinely a well crafted experience that left me engaged for the entirety of its massive runtime. It’s hard to say “the studio should have just trusted Snyder’s judgment” without knowing how much they influenced production of MoS and BvS (since those movies were not good) but I think the whole situation is an epic disappointment for all involved parties.
I actually really would have loved to see where batman and super man movies would have gone with Snyder and the desert scene with deathstroke, cyborg, flash and batman could have been interesting. Something fresh and new.
So many missed opportunities. I've been that rare DC lifelong fan and while I liked some Snyder's work. I feel BVS wouldn't had been so poorly received had a different person been cast as Lex. It's such a shame WB rushed everything after years of hardly advertising the characters while Marvel put there characters on everything from 1999- present day. I don't see James Gunn pulling it off. But I'm willing to give him a chance.
The biggest shame of this entire thing is that if Zack had been able to just go ahead as planned and complete the story, the universe would have been rebooted anyway. Anyone who didn’t like his vision would get what they wanted once everything was done, but instead we spend every year since 2017 wheel spinning on films that no one cared about. The Snyderverse would have most likely finished around this year if things were left to finish. Ironic considering that Superman Legacy will release around the same time the idea of a reboot would have happened under Snyder.
I know Snyder is not Nolan. But I wonder if they ever asked Nolan "Where's the joke's" probably because they realize DC characters like Batman aren't inherently funny like Iron Man. The reason I truly hate Josstice League is when Batman says "Something is definitely bruised/ bleeding"! That is not Batman or Bruce Wayne!
If the Snyder cut came out first and the wheadon cut never happened, then I believe the fans would be just as hyped for darkseid as they were for thanos
I doubt it. The reaction to Batman V Superman was Luke warm at best. And the Snyder cut is just a longer, slightly better version of a bad movie. But it was still a bad movie.
Freddy Vs Jason was a joke and sucked big time Freddy is no match for Jason and that movie should never have seen the light of day....Freddy is plays mindgames and not the physical type....Jason on the other hand is BRUTE FORCE....& brute force SHOULD(in my eyes & in my opinion) be fought with brute force & there is only one other that is a match for Jason Voorhees...& that is Michael Myers...if people want to see or need a story in a movie....go watch 50 shades or whatever....BUT if u wanna see titans in the ULTIMATE slugfest then it wil be those two LEGENDARY movie maniacs tearing into each other & beating the "$H!T" out of each other...to put it clearly....but New Line Cinema & Dimension both companies DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE FANS they just care about money so that ICONIC HORROR MOVIE MANIACS will probably never share the BIG SCREEN together because of greedy corporate DiICKHEADS....So i guess it wil be "THE MOVIE WE WILL NEVER GET TO SEE.....A REAL REAL DAMN SHAME....
Snyder's vision was ambitious and truly something of his vision. I think the reasons his work never got to be fulling realized was for two reasons: Snyder's work is often not the mainstream appealing work to fulfil the kind of success that lead to the MCU's domination and Warner Brothers' flippant attitude in giving Snyder full control and then immediately yanking on it is a reflection of bad studio management. I can't say that Snyder's complete vision would've been a crowd pleaser or acclaimed, but it would've been HIS vision.
Even though I like the Snyder cut, I get why the studio would be like "We need to cut this down so much", but I do not get why Joss Whedon would even accept the job of reshooting like 85% of the film. What would he have gotten out of that? Whedon talked about how making Age of Ultron wore him down, how did re-filming another director's Justice League film sound any better?
I hope James Gunn helps DC to take over this decade Because I'm sick of the MCU But I also hope that he takes it seriously too, because I'll be damned if it has the same comedic tone of the MCU
James Gunn is going to fail hard and the DCU will be DOA. Not all of that will be Gunn's fault because WB execs are the absolute the worst in the business, but Gunn just doesn't have the chops to helm an entire Universe.
I've watched videos on Snyder's plan many times, it didn't take that many to see that When you really get into the nuances of this batshit story you see just how detailed & thematically rich Snyder's vision was. And y'all can say whatever "I can do this all day 🛡️" lol His bold yet (Yes)accurate but bold interpretation of these characters was always incredible. The theme of ZSJL trilogy about how: Our Heroes will go through hell while literal demons to save one persons life. (Dr. Flashpoints fan made trailer helped me realize that).

@@kingofhearts3185 as much I think that the actors are unfortunately probably past the point of wanting to do it, I’d adore it for Snyder to make Flashpoint

that and George Millers JL mortal. WB had so many chances to do a dc cinematic universe over the years and they just kept screwing them up.
The true villain of the DCEU was always Warner Brothers
I'm not sure I would agree with you. The end goal might sound great but you have to be able to build up to it. The missteps before JL are the issue to me. Retconning man of steel into the synderverse was probably not a great idea and was a mediocre film. BvS was also mediocre as well. He needed is Iron Man and did not have one. As per the video, they had already lost faith in him. Hopefully Gunn has the ability that synder lacked.

The thing nobody ever mentions about BvS is that one of the things that definitely killed the movie in its egg is when they revealed Doomsday in the trailer. Definitely could have been a great twist to discover while watching the movie. No, show everything all the time is the marketing motto of the last 10 years.
Yeah those trailers spoiled everything
Nobody mention it because nothing comes close to Matha. There are lots of trailers revealing key plots in movies but still do well with audiences. And with Batman and Superman in one movie, it is literally unimaginable that revealing plot points will make a difference to movie goers.
No it wouldnt have fixed anything lol. The biggest issue was the pacing, lack of comedy, and bad representation of comic book characters in live action
never understood why studios want so much 'comedy' that is legitimately one of the main things that killed comic book movies.

I'm in the minority of people who enjoyed BvS (for the most part) and Zack Snyder's Justice League. These other films mentioned here, sounded even better to me! I especially liked Ray Fisher's take on Cyborg and was hoping to see him get his own solo movie.
BvS was disappointing but most people really loved Zack Snyder’s Justice League, we should have gotten the sequel.
A few things we lost out on when the original DCEU plan changed:
*Rick Famuyiwa was one of several directors who was hired/eventually left The Flash due to creative differences with WB.

Studio executives who think they know what we want say “avengers have a few jokes, that must be why everyone liked it…give the barking seals comedy!”
They destroy a good directors creative vision for some mainstream bullshit they think we want. We lost out huge not seeing the 3 part snyderverse justice league. The story is so riveting I would love to see it.
Given how bad every Snyder film was in the DCEU and since the DCEU, I think WB were incredibly smart not to let him keep going. Almost every movie lost the studio money. 0:02 LOOK AT THAT!!! ..the dude was BORN to play Bruce (Ben) Batman; BBB!.. just never got proper opportunity to do so within grounded reality outside the absurd cartoonist "Snyderverse".
I love the snyderverse
Bruce Kent 🤣
Also important to mention how the continuity of the universe was also messed up by WB very early on:
-Wonder Woman was supposed to tease the Mother Boxes (now a deleted scene on TH-cam)
-BvS was supposed to tease Lex's involvement with Steppenwolf (as seen in the Ultimate cut) which would explain why he knew so much stuff about everything and everyone.
-Suicide Squad was supposed to reveal Joker and Enchantress were working with Steppenwolf to prepare for Darkseid after Superman died
-SS was also supposed to end with Enchantress giving some powers to Joker, which would explain how he survived the apocalyptic future and why he knew vital information such as the location of kryptonite
-Same movie, Harley is said to have been involved in the death of Robin, which is quite impossible as Robin's death was the reason the Joker got sent to Arkham where he met Harley. The director stated this was an error introduced by the editing team
-BvS wasn't supposed to have Doomsday at all
And a fun fact, The Riddler loses his mind after solving the Omega Equation because he believed he had solved the ultimate puzzle and there was nothing else to do with his life after that.
El sonyverse comenzó con la cochera y no hicieron nada mas
@@williamdaviddiazcuchimaque7511 Thank god for google translation Sounds accurate. But if you didn't have the bad movies, the good ones wouldn't look so good.
Bring on the reboot
Happy to see the end of the snyder stuff
I wanted the Snyderverse to be completed so bad. The plot outline sounds like it would've been the most epic thing ever.
True true
Yeah
Have you see the current stocks and upcoming Superman movie costume? The Snyderverse is destined to return and even Gunn is afraid of that as well. Profits were high regardless what critics thought during the Snyderverse era. They started plummeting as soon as he left and now Netflix is near the top of the charts. Only thing that is keeping Snyder's movies frowned upon is Rotten Tomatoes, Snyder Critics, and the Gunn with his other stooges. Justice League 2 and 3 is inevitable and there is nothing nobody can do to stop it. Not even the DCU at this point.
@@DanielKeller-lw1eu Man you guys really do talk like cultists lol
@@DanielKeller-lw1euyeah bro move on already
For better or worse, sounds like this is what happens when you get the dude that directed Watchmen to do a Justice league franchise
How is this Zack Snyder's fault exactly? He was hired to do a job, he did it, but Warner Brother's obsession with Marvel led to the catastrophic failure.
@aaroneclipse514 This. They told Zack "Hey make a cinematic universe" just to panic and go "WAIT NO NOT LIKE THAT" after a movie and a half.
@@aaroneclipse514 Didn't say it was his fault. He did it in his style, and Watchmen was a good example of that style. WB seemed like they didn't know what page they were on till way late
@@justinhall754 Ah, well okay that makes sense.

This is my favorite video you've done. Great summary and analysis of Snyder's plans -- I had never heard them presented so sequentially and coherently. I would have enjoyed seeing these movies as you described them, especially Superman's arc.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
@@BulletsandblockbustersI love Snyder visuals but he is not good storyteller. He should've been like an adviser and oversee the consistency like Kevin Feige
Warner Bro should let directors for their own version of their own movie
in all fairness, Marvel does the same thing. Directors end up walking away from MCU projects cause they want to something different and darker.
WB should let directors for their own version...
Huh?
Though I don’t personally agree with Snyder’s vision for the DCEU, I can respect that he was trying to do something different.
My main issue with this overall pitch is that this would work better as a dark alternate universe, however, he was hired to write a theatrical interpretation of the Justice League that would serve as the introduction to the team to many casual audience members.
I feel that you should start with the more hopeful interpretation of them and then move onto a dark AU
Man, this would've been so cool. It breaks my heart that WB ruined everything and tanked this franchise. It could've been something really special.
The Gunnverse will flop!
just like the SNYDERVERSE 🤣
I Always love hearing about this original plan for JL wish we got to see it ,maybe one day 😅 lol who knows hahaha this one YT channel did a mini movie using Ai art to make part 2&3 and they were really good if u search for it you can find it! I highly recommend it! also have you done a video on Chris Farley version on Cable Guy? or that cursed script that Farley was supposed to do but died being the 3rd actor attached that died tragicly? I know John Candy was one and think Bulushi was the other was curious if you done one on any of that 😊 congrats on another awesome video!
Great video man
Its a shame WB killed the snyderverse, ive would liked to see the other two JL movies and at least the Batman solo movie but thanks to your content now i know what could have been 😉
man i really hope we sometime get to see either a full on snyderverse, an actual good connected DC universe and a good marvel universe on the big screens

BvS didn’t work because of this rush to get all the characters out there. Time should’ve been give to allow characters to develop and interact with each other
Also it didn’t work because it was boring and stupid.
I think the reason dceu was ruin because wb and other company want to copy the mcu
Actually it wasn't rushed the audience were too dumb at the time.
Yet Gunn is literally doing the SAME thing in his first film for the franchise and all the shills are sucking him off for it
Bruce knocking up Lois was a bad idea.
what I don't really get, is why some fans want the Gunn universe to fail because the Snyderverse is over, Gunn doesn't have the fault for anything
As a lifelong, militant hater of love triangles, I am SO glad we didn’t get Pearl Harbor with Superman. That just… all of that is wrong
I'd be up for that in another timeline, Whedon knows his character work, or knew. This sorta killed his career along with allegations.
Joss Weadon would've made a great film if he was able to make it from the ground up.
@@dragonrings14 fucking why? he is a piece of shit? he was very clearly self sabotaging to fuck over DC because hes a marvel suckass? You really want him to be employed after every allegation? reconsider your fucking life holy shit
The problem with the Snyderverse is that everything felt rushed. The MCU was successful because they had solo movies introducing the heroes and then teamed them up. A solid formula. If WB would've gave everyone a solo movie and then teamed them up for Justice League would've been better but intead they rushed everything.
And this is why DC will never get on their feet, WB has no idea what they want
You need to watch the Snyder cut\version of all three movies aa one big long 10 hour movie. Possibly in black & white as well, haha!
The Snyderverse had so much potential to bad it ended how it did.
Bruce being the father of supermans baby and he kid becoming the new batman i van see why they were like yeah nah
10:58 I would argue that incredibly few Snyderverse fans are DC fans in any other regard.
A great point well made.
I love this channel man. You should make a "What Could Have Been" for Forrest Gump 2 in my opinion. I think you'd crush it.
@Bulletsandblockbusters
Thanks! I can look into it
I know Snyder is not Nolan.
Podría haber funcionado lego Batman cuenta chistes así y es una película increíblemente buena
damn, I don't like any of the snyderverse movies but these plans actually sounded really cool, especially that flashpoint movie
I think a lot of fans would have hated them killing off Wonder Woman and Aquaman in the second Justice League movie.
The original plan was stupid af. Lois with Bruce’s child? That’s disgusting
What were they thinking fr 😂
they scrapped it, i'll send you a book
You should do a video about the development hell with Freddy Vs Jason and the sequel they wanted to make
Freddy Vs Jason was a joke and sucked big time Freddy is no match for Jason and that movie should never have seen the light of day....Freddy is plays mindgames and not the physical type....Jason on the other hand is BRUTE FORCE....& brute force SHOULD(in my eyes & in my opinion) be fought with brute force & there is only one other that is a match for Jason Voorhees...& that is Michael Myers...if people want to see or need a story in a movie....go watch 50 shades or whatever....BUT if u wanna see titans in the ULTIMATE slugfest then it wil be those two LEGENDARY movie maniacs tearing into each other & beating the "$H!T" out of each other...to put it clearly....but New Line Cinema & Dimension both companies DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE FANS they just care about money so that ICONIC HORROR MOVIE MANIACS will probably never share the BIG SCREEN together because of greedy corporate DiICKHEADS....So i guess it wil be "THE MOVIE WE WILL NEVER GET TO SEE.....A REAL REAL DAMN SHAME....
@@richardfowler381Dude, you need to get laid. Immediately.
I would have loved to see Zacks vision come to the big screen, loved his JL!
Bc he wanted to make a Batgirl film and JL was a "chance" to get WB approval
I hope James Gunn helps DC to take over this decade
Because I'm sick of the MCU
But I also hope that he takes it seriously too, because I'll be damned if it has the same comedic tone of the MCU
James Gunn is going to fail hard and the DCU will be DOA. Not all of that will be Gunn's fault because WB execs are the absolute the worst in the business, but Gunn just doesn't have the chops to helm an entire Universe.
