with little leaks like that, when it rains -it pours! I have chased those leaks from radiator to water pump to heater core! It just makes you want to scream! Then I find out the ac condenser has a cooler running through the radiator along with the tranny cooler! AND to top it all off --there is an engine oil cooler in there also! I agree 100%! I have many an armpit full of antifreeze!
Yep your exactly right... Why!?!? how come that stuff gotta be all intertwined like that? Its like they have a mental torture handbook instead of an engineering one.. I'm looking forward to the day I see milky oil on the stick from the timing cover leaking next! I knew to change that timing cover gasket but.... We do it nice cause we do it twice! True that on the antifreeze in the armpit... maybe that's why my deodorant doesn't work anymore! lol. Thanks for watching!
@@HustlehousePA1978 I think they do have a mental torture handbook! I think they just sit, thinking of ways to make our job harder, as if it isn't already, by THEIR hands. If only we could get ahold of one and let him spend a day doing what we do and them getting firsthand torture of their garbage ideas. Think it would work? Maybe--Maybe not! WHO knows!
Haha I think it would but to get the full effect they need to do it daily for a few years. If all automotive engineers did this, we would be back to building new model A's in no time! lol

Have you ever heard of the restaurant chain predominantly More Southern called HUDDLE HOUSE? Friend of mine has a handmade his Dodge truck about the same year and he has 400,000 mi on it. The same engine and everything else. Always been in the shop a few times and he spends $2,000 a drop. But he swears by that truck. Hughes is a little bit heavier oil than what they recommend and he says that's the secret to getting the low mileage out of it. You know my uncle was a GM mechanic by trade as well as a professional gambler. That's another story. Anyway he always said man if you're a good mechanic you have a couple parts left over. If you're a great mechanic it won't even run when you done 🤣🤣🤣

To being forced to become electrical engineers to work on electric battery powered junk. Thats the whole reason I moved to heavy trucks and equipment. So many ppl wanting their name on the next "big Idea" fuels the fires of ridiculousness. Everybody trying to verify their existence at work and reinvent the wheel...we pay for all those wild ideas. As far as that fan shroud goes... If it wasn't for the shame of ppl seeing my vehicular abuse I woulda gave that baby the old peoples elbow and bolted on whatever was left of it just for spite lol. you guys used a filter lol. i just drained it in a big clear clean container at walmart for 10 bucks funneled it in old antifreeze jugs reused it but mine was new to begin with. but yes do the timing cover gasket

Air hammer with pointed bit. Catch the edge of a flat on the front edge closest to the fan. Just about 3 seconds and she is loose and ready to spin off
Shoot... last time I used an air hammer bout shot off my manhood! Never again my friend...never again! Lol. jk. Yep I've heard of folks knocking them off like that. Thanks for the tip!

timing cover leaked on mine thankfully didnt leak internally. my advice if it hasnt been done in long time time change that gasket they are bad about it. plus it gives you a chance to inspect timing chain. i just done this job the other day
i feel the same way they do that so most people will need a shop or dealer to fix well thats a laugh most of us that can work on vehicles will figure it out
After you change water pump the timing cover gaskets will be next half the time is why i mentioned it because on a hemi the pump bolts basically help hold it on and after i changed pump and torqued to spec the timing cover seeped so had to do it over
i dont have the tool for fan clutch i built one out of a straight piece of flat steel 2 inch by 2 foot long drilled two holes found a couple nuts and made my own to hold it
yeah i noticed that cheap one is master pro i got for my 2005 and was made by us motor works i have no idea why that one said china you have no telling actual manufacturer maybe gmb?
by the way the timing cover gasket looks like the water pump. and if it does leak internal it will mess the motor up. get felpro like i did or something good

See I have another theory on why they design things the way they do now I believe it's just a nickel and dime the consumer they don't build it so that you can work on it yourself anymore it's not any certain manufacturer it's all of them that do it I replaced the radiator in my 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD four-wheel drive a year ago and it took the entire day to replace it the oil cooler lines and transmission cooler lines used to screw into the radiator with a fitting now they're held in with a little tiny clip and if you have big ass sausage fingers like I have it won't be an easy job
Haha Yea I feel ya on the sausage fingers. I'm pretty lucky to have sweet momma on the sidelines with those itty bittys that fit everywhere. Yea man, They dont want ya working on your own stuff.. I dont think they want anybody working on stuff.... Thats the real conspiracy. Make it so nobody wants to work on stuff so they can eventually just sell folks a new car every time the old one breaks down.. Call me crazy!!

@@HustlehousePA1978 dont use the cheap pos gasket with master pro pumps you are lucky if that pump will last 400 miles ask me how i know. also the gasket supplied is junk invest the ten bucks in felpro or something quality and thank me later
i agree never ever rtv the seals on the pump or timing cover period
i mean if you must maybe a little on outside if it makes you feel better but not directly on that gasket it will leak again or very high chance. his biggest problem is using the cheap ass gasket with the junky oriellys pump

Nope, you put the fan in right. Its a pain that way but way worse radiator last.
Yea I figured it woud be fallin out the bottom and into the bucket if we put it in first! lol. haha, Seems like every way is the wrong way on this newer stuff!
