    What a breath of fresh air from Ray talking about viewers with no senses of humor. I liked that he called their bluff. Aw, you're offended? Then go somewhere else. Well played, Ray.

    Replaced hundreds of those mounts. There is a body plug under the carpet to get to the top nut. We stick a propane torch in the hole to heat the threads to loosen the Loctite. Do the rear mounts first with the fronts loosened to keep everything aligned.

    When you’re removing those kind of fasteners spray with penetrating fluid first inside on the captured nut then carefully tighten fastener a tiny amount to break the threads loose then carefully back out and retighten again if threads jam up until hopefully it’s free. More lube during the process too.

    I'm 64 years old, and I found that I can't joke with a lot of young people nowadays. They either don't understand the joke or they think I'm insulting them somehow. Now, I don't joke with young people, which is boring. Except with older people. And many of them understand old school jokes.

      @johnhpalmer6098 37 นาทีที่ผ่านมา +2

      A lot of it comes down to trying to be politically correct and often failing at it, also trying to be bleeding heart liberals and failing at it too.
      I do not take any of that BS myself, nor conspiracy theories. I'm also not normally brained so see things differently than the norm.
      BTW, I'm of similar age (60) so understand many of the older ways.

      @johnhpalmer6098 I don't know about you, but I miss the times when I were younger. It seems that people understood each other better back then. I think social media has ruined how most people see each other nowadays.

      You are soooo correct! When I said to a 30 something, "Those rollers are shot!".....they reacted very strangely and thought it was being or been violent to the rollers.....OMG!

    • @johnhpalmer6098
      @johnhpalmer6098 6 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      @ In some ways, I am the same way, though I live and grew up out on the west coast (western Washington) where at times we lean too liberal for our own good, so see things from that perspective and what we have now is a glut of the homeless as a result, California, Oregon and Washington are glutted with them at the moment, and agree, a lot of it stems from social media.
      I see normal folks being too readily accepting of things at face value without critical thinking of the whys, the where's and the hows.

    I've heard that those cab mount bolts can be a bear at times when the captured nut spins. You lucked out pretty good only having a couple that gave you grief. Of course those northern guys probably have much harder times with them. And when they have to pull the cab off to service the engine, what do they do. I guess they've done enough that they have it down pat. Thanks for taking us along on this job.

    @9:47, you placed the shim from YOUR mount onto the chineesium Ford mount! Also, free advice from the real libereral-ville rust-belt state (Maine) - I generally use a flexi-tube of PB blaster to get some oil on the cab-mount nuts on top BEFORE I start, AND I generally stick a prybar under the large washer at the bottom to help keep the bolt seated in the nut-retainer (or what's left of it) and pry it down while hitting it with the impact wrench - gently at first to let the vibration work the oil into the threads, then after a while I give it the beans. When that fails I cut to bolt head.

    Another trick would be to put some Vaseline on those threads so that any of those BB's don't actually weld themselves to the threads Carrie at the Vaseline happens to be what used to keep those BBS from sticking to certain things. Otherwise they call it big dip but all Mig dip is is colored Vaseline

    that sucks about your new 4 post lift. I know ow you feel. Your contractor should have told you about it a long time ago so you could get the cement poured and set up before they came to install it. I had that happen to me when i worked in a tool room and we had to pour an 8" pad 10 ft square and isolate it from the rest of the floor and they didn't tell us till it was delivered. So after cure time it set us back almost 8 weeks.

    I was trying to think of something snarky or profound to quip, but am at a loss for words. So I thank you for a very entertaining video that I could watch as I sipped strong coffee this Thursday morning.

    The only thing that offends me on this channel is that you refuse to close that door when you pull this into the shop. I keep thinking you will hit it. Lol

    I've never seen someone weld up cab bolts on a ford this way. Usually you just remove the rubber plugs inside the cab and do it that way. or use the constant electric pressure torque wrench. Interesting

    Yes, I thing it is funny because I work on 1950's to 1980's trucks and almost every cab bolt is like this plus mounts are rusted to the point of needing replaced or remaned .LOL

    Remember: Major US manufacturers use Chinese and other Asian countries as parts suppliers as well as automotive assembly plants. GM is building SUVs and Small cars in China and badging them as GM. Toyota uses parts made all over the world as well as having plants all over the world. It use to be Chineseum, now its just world market. One gets what one specified to the manufacturer, Cheap for large markups or quality for durability.
