A fast gaming gaming pc is not necessarily overkill. A much more capable system than this isn't that expensive (depends on your definition of expensive I guess). I built a AMD 5600x system with AMD 6600xt, 500gb 980 ssd, 2tb 970 evo ssd and 16gb ddr4 3600 ram for $1300. All high quality parts. Personally I think $1300 is an acceptable price although I understand many people don't. My son built what I think is an overkill system. 5950x, 6900xt gpu, ddr4 4800 ram, 1200 watt psu, expensive custom water cooling etc. His system is fast but not 3 times faster and it costs 3 times what mine did. I can play anything at 1080p high 60fps, that was my goal not to ever drop below 60fps at 1070p high.

My i7 4790 gets less in bfv, although I do play the 64 player multiplayer I get around 80-90 average and I am seriously bottlenecked by the cpu, pretty obvious though because I decided to just stick a gtx 1080 which my friend sold me so my cpu is normally the limiting factor
You should put the HDDs on drive brackets. There's a high chance that those drives will vibrate a lot, unlike an SSD, which will shorten its life span.
i have HDD just slapped somewhere in case, no screws, no tape, no nothing... it's 10 years old and still fine. but you are right i also dont recommend it

for budget gaming, editing and rendering i would say i5 10400f and an H510M or even B560M if you have extra money (only choose from 500 series motherboards) and 16 gb of ram at 3200 mhz.

Painful to watch... 1.CPU cooler missed 2 screws is unacceptable... 2.In general scenarios, it should mount screws at the same time, but do not tighten them at once (just mount them in position temporarily), then tighten them eventually 3.You shouldnt wire CPU 4 PIN behind the motherboard, there are 2 reason you why you shouldnt do this, first the PIN behind the MB is sharp, the wire can be easily damaged by it. secend if PSU have some problem, its hard to swap the PSU

This is similar to my build except my base was Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF with 32GB RAM. Still happy with it to this day.

That’s a socket lga 1151 cpu where as the i7 4790 is an lga 1150.
