Using panoramic sunroof from past 2-3 years! Not even one mentioned problem i have faced! May be it depends upon various situations and usage! These all symptoms are seen when we install it after market! Company fitted panoramic sunroofs are A class.

If panaromic sunroof is harmful then it shouldn't come in luxury cars , real life review on paranomic sunroof can only be given by a person who has paranomic sunroof car
Quality depends upon the price. The panoramic sunroof in Maybach and BMW M760 has electronic tint, that can block 99% of uv rays, same is the case in most luxury cars. Don't expect the same in mid range cars like hector, creta. That would be very foolish of you.

Hi Rishabh, i would suggest one very important point for sunroof...mostly children use to pop out their head on high speeds and as you know in India roads are not always in good shape...any time a small piece of stone may hit on eyes, head or face area which could lead to a massive tragedy so pls add this to your cons list. The major point you didn't discuss at all.. I live in Shimla Himachal and one of my friend is having volvo x40....with panaromic sunroof..while driving to Kinnaur (a high altitude place) from shimla...a little stone weighing approx 100 grams fell on the roof and cracked it all.... making it an expensive deal...to repair it... This is a major issue a person should keep in mind if you live in hilly areas.. or if you do not have a roof covered parking for your car...

If a sunroof is company fitted than there is no structural compromise. And sunroof is as strong and rigid like windshield of the car, and in many frontal crashes we have observed that windshield stays intact even after strong frontal collision during accidents where even airbags deploys. Sunroof is only dangerous when a sharp stone hits it from the top while driving through hilly or mountain areas during landslide conditions, because that stone can pierce the glass and enter from the roof hitting on your lap, but if car’s top is made of solid metal sheet, than due to flexibility of the metal it may bend and absorb the force of that sharp stone or rock.
Great analysis, totally agreed. Now what should we do, as we are not given options to customize, Once you avoid sunroof you also get deprived from important safety features like ESP, VSM, HAC, 6 airbags in case of Creta.
Sukamal Paul unlike Tata every Korean and Japanese car brand provides such safety key features in top models only, they sell those features as luxury. And certainly Hyundai should have avoided Panaromic sunroof in Sx variant and should have provided it in Sx(O) only, because anyhow who wants sunroof would buy even expensive variant.

So if you buy a car without sunroof you may not get some of the premium, essential & safety features also features (6 airbags, ventilated seat etc). So pls keep this in mind. I hope car makers give us option to customize

Initially i was fond of Sunroof, but as I think more about it, Sunroof is a NO GO for Indian usage. A Moon roof at max is good enough. I'm planning to buy a car, and as I evaluate I see all of them offering Panoramic Sunroof. One of the major hazard is objects from trees falling on the roof, since we all don't have covered parking. I had faced this problem when a coconut fell on my car which gave it a good dent, fortunately it was a normal roof. Had it been a Panoramic.... it would have costed me a fortune to repair. I guess I have to settle for a variant without Sunroof.

People suggesting to have no sunroof on a car which has big glass in front, glasses on windows. All those glasses won't harm you but sunroof definitely will 🤣

Paranomic sunroof is made of very thick glass which has a weight 40 to 50 kg , that's show it's strong can't get brake easily
Also when to go to Spiti Ladakh , shooting stones can break your sunroof glass

Initially i was fond of Sunroof, but as I think more about it, Sunroof is a NO GO for Indian usage. A Moon roof at max is good enough. I'm planning to buy a car, and as I evaluate I see all of them offering Panoramic Sunroof. One of the major hazard is objects from trees falling on the roof, since we all don't have covered parking. I had faced this problem when a coconut fell on my car which gave it a good dent, fortunately it was a normal roof. Had it been a Panoramic.... it would have costed me a fortune to repair. I guess I have to settle for a variant without Sunroof.
