    Hello Fleming
    I made the cake yesterday. I was very excited & nervous (because I have full use of one hand) so I watched over & over until I was ready to see what was going to happen. Everything turned out amazing and delicious. Very light & delicate cake (13yrs ago was last time I made any layer cake) Full of tears and laughter looking at what was accomplished through your soft spoken voice & clear directions. Thanks So Much. My husband really liked the cake w/icing plus he was so excited at what I was able to accomplish without any help in the kitchen (only your video!! & God!!) Glad for finding you, God Bless

    This is perfect . I just followed this recipe as I'm writing this, the cake is in the oven. I tasted the batter it was delicious reminded me of when I was a child & we used to lick the bowl, lol. I think the sour cream & milk together made a nice taste for the cake. This is how I will now be baking my yellow cake. Thanks.

    I love this recipe I tried it yesterday, March 2, 2024, and it was great however, I did not use a whole cup of sour cream I used 3/4 cup and it was delicious. I also mixed the milk and sour cream before mixing them with the batter. Thank you

      @ladyrich3547 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@MzNesi50 it wasn't an incomplete recipe. It was half the sugar and heavy whipping cream instead of milk. An incomplete recipe would be leaving something out, not replacing it with something different.

      I used the hand mixer and I noticed the color difference from you using the stand mixer. But everything else was great! Your right the sour cream to the icing gives it a different taste! It tones down the sweetness in it.

      @@FlemingsSimplyDivineSweets I made this cake in a 9x13 pan for the family for our grandson's birthday party, I frosted it with cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries, blueberries & raspberries on top. Thanks again S tephie, you're an awesome cook!!!

    what kind of milk? can you use buttermilk? can I use white lily flour?

    • @FlemingsSimplyDivineSweets
      @FlemingsSimplyDivineSweets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes to White lily flour if it’s all purpose or a cake flour, do not use self rising flour. As far as the buttermilk you can just remember it will either change the texture or lift the cake a bit higher because buttermilk is like an acid and once it activates with the baking powder and heat it will become leavened. In most of my recipes if I’m using buttermilk I swap out my baking powder for baking soda. You may have to play with that if that’s the case.

    Could you use cake flour instead of all purpose?

    I’m so confused with your additions like I noticed that you didn’t cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy… is that not necessary and only for pound cakes? Also the baking powder and salt was not incorporated into the flour? I just want to be sure before I follow your steps …. It surely looks awesome

      Hi 👋🏾 Regina! It’s not a pound cake so you are safe to blend it the way I did. Trust me it comes out moist and fluffy 😄

    Hello what is the difference between flour and baking flour? Can you please tell me what brands you use

      Life With Nina Dominique I use all purpose flour the self rising flour contains baking powder , baking soda, and salt. I choose all purpose so that I can have a control of how much of each things that go in. There isn’t any particular brand I use or swear by as long as it’s all purpose. Oh and I tried bleached all purpose and I wasn’t too impressed with that either
