Your lessons are so logically thought out and clearly explained. This exercise covers almost 90% of any bass line that you would want to play. I love the tone of your bass. Killer!
Soooooo cool ! It's just perfect, everything from the tone of your voice to the tone of your bass and the clarity of your explanations. You're the king! From France with love. 😊
Thank you, Bernie. The tour was spectacular. I'm always amazed when I get the chance to visit some of the most beautiful cities n the world. That said, it feels good to be home.
First, thanks to Scott Devine for turning me on to Dapp Theory several years ago. Then your classes on his site, which I still work on, blew me away. Now to see you with your own channel, that deserves a million followers or more, is awesome. Unfortunately, TH-cam is saturated with teachers who love to hear themselves play. Great players, terrible teachers. You are the exception. You break things down in a way that’s easy to understand and most importantly, you enjoy teaching. On top of it all, you’re a beast of a player! I’ve been playing for over forty years and not only do you provide valuable information, you’ve made playing fun again. Thanks Rich, you will definitely receive a donation from me on a regular basis. That’s the very least I can do for this great resource.🙏🏾
Thank you so much for your very kind words. That really does mean a lot, and your comment is very much appreciated. It truly is a joy for me to bring you these lessons. Knowing these lessons can help my dear friends and neighbours even in some small way makes the effort all worth it. Thank you for watching, professor.
Good lesson. I am also a fan of the Beat Buddy pedal. It is a crucial practice tool that can do way more. When you pair it with a looper (Pigtronix Infinity is my go-to) and link up the MIDI, you are pretty much a 3 piece on your own. On a side note, your bass is missing at least one string.

@@richbrownbass Friend, I'm self taught and playing for over forty years yet I always find your uploads valuable, they help me understand what I "intuitively" have learned over the years, but the best part is seeing an awesome player like yourself "cheating" in the ring over the little finger on your pentatonic and scaler runs! XOXO makes me feel like there's hope for me yet!
Don’t forget that the standard SKA music guitar stroke is definitely on that 16th note UPBEAT! Maybe that will help identify it for folks who are having any difficulty finding the upstroke. 👍😎👍
Great video, enjoyed playing your riff there and gonna invest in a beatbuddy. Left wee 5 dollar tip as an appreciation of your time and effort. Thank you sir
Love your lessons... Thank you so much! Just learning to play the bass... The world needs more bass players... Btw, in the beat buddy, what genre and song were you using?
Hmm...🤔 I don't have a machine like that. The only other rhythm aid I used on the channel was a metronome app. Unless you remember something that I don't (which is entirely possible. 😕)
Hi. I love your videos and it's helping alot! Any advice you can give to someone that was playing bass guitar for a few years and stopped playing for about 4/5 years and is wanting to start again but do it on a regular basis?
Rich, I appreciate you sir!!!!!!! Since watching you, I bought myself a bass guitar. My question is for a 7 string bass guitar what strings would you prefer? Thank you sir!
@@michaelanthony9068 No I am not. Just a good 5 string bass player that loves a challenge. I had the opportunity to get a 7 string bass guitar so I did.
Hey Oscar. There's no extra note in the second half. When you count the 16th-note subdivision (1E&A 2E&A...), you play the E and the A of beat 3, and the E and A of beat 4, for a total of 4 notes in the second half. Does this make sense?
Where are the ads I have to watch in order to have you payed a tiny little? Your worth t he owing away a bit of time, while curious about what you bring.

That bass line sounds very similar to Band of Gold by Freda Payne. Regardless of that, this is a brilliant lesson.
