I’m grateful for the opportunity to sit back and reflect on all that I’ve seen in my 75 years ant the wonderful times spent with family and friends in all pursuits. Then along came Matt and Tim to show me that my 50 years of chasing these green fish was sorely lacking in knowledge. I learn something new every time either by listening to them or just watching during their fishing only videos. My very favorite sight fishing lure was a 1/4 oz white jig tipped with just the tail end of a white Senko. Small compact and very visible. Everyone stay safe, sane and happy. We will be okay and on the bright side all of our gear will be clean, shiny and in order. The Bass better be enjoying this time off. Their day will come! Tight lines!

I'm grateful for the time with my wife and kid, it can be hard trying at times. I love it! It beats work any day. I have been fishing with my boy almost everyday after finishing school work. Nothing beats time with my family, the fishing is a big + plus. I mostly only get one day a week to fish. I get home most nights after dark. So this time to help out and teach my boy has been a blessing.

I'm definitely grateful for my wife and kids at this tough time. I get to enjoy my oldest son before he commissions this May as an officer in the US Army after completing his ROTC requirements and graduating from Marquette University. Your videos are so helpful as always not only for my fishing skills but to see someone out on the water! My favorite sight fishing bait is a finesse jig.

I live in Tennessee. TWRA have not closed any boat ramps. TVA closed the parks and ramps. I do not have a boat yet so I bank fish mostly from TWRA ramps and piers. Might sound silly, but I am thankful that I am getting to fish more than usual. My favorite bait if I think I'm on bed fish. I have 2 dirty jigs football with a sweet beaver. Go to and green pumpkin red. keitech crazy flapper green pumpkin fire. I started fishing last May. If it wasn't for y'all I probably would have quit by now. You guys are the best and keep me wanting to get better. We truly are a tactical family. Thanks guys.

I must agree being able to spend more time with my daughters actually had the time to teach them how to use spinning reels and they now love it. So I just went out and got them each their own and started teaching my oldest how to tie knots which we will be continuing on to perfect them has truly been a blessing amongst the chaos from this devastating time.

Love the raw footage, too. We enjoy teaching the kids to cook during this time together. Made pies, cakes, brownies, absolutely nothing healthy except a few scrambled eggs! Sight fishing in our dirty water means a D bomb (probably super bug).

I am thankful for the extra time with my wife and kids and doing things with them at home we normally don't have the time to do. Go to sight fishing bait is a 5 inch Yamamoto senko in green pumpkin magic. That gold flake seems to catch their attention while the green pumpkin color is subtle enough to not spook them.

I think this has caused families to realize what is important in life. For me it has been being home with my family cause I travel for a living. We have been enjoying the outdoors and my kids went fishing even though it was cold on the way out helped pick up trash to leave it better then when we showed up.

I am grateful to my father and grandpas for taking me out fishing when I was a kid. For sight-fishing, I usually use a worm and last year due to Tatical Bassin I discovered the "Wacky" rig and have used that a lot. This year I plan on doing a lot more jig and drop shot fishing.

    • @gslang3489

You'll see your hauls grow exponentially once you learn how to consistently find the fis. My advice is to find a good pond around atleast 20 acres that you can fish atleast 2 or 3 times a month and go on days with different conditions and start out with different types of soft bait. You will start noticing when bass tend to go deep when they're at the dam, or when they go shallow on some flats and veg points. Note the details of the catches. Always have a bottom rig and a baitfish rig. Switch it up and you notice yourself thinking and theorycrafting more. You can take what you learned about fish behavior in that pond to any lake, its just on a larger scale. You'll notice after a few months that your skill is at a place you wouldn't think possible.

Positives About Being Home: I am choosing to learn a lot about things that interest me. Ex. This will sound stupid but I always had the bait shop spool my reels because I buy the line there. I’ve been fishing for 25 years. I’ve respooled all my reels for the new season myself. I’m crock potting dinner as much as possible so I can smell it when I work from home. With the extra hour per day I have by not commuting I more work done at home so I have more time on the weekend. God Bless and be safe Tactical Bassin dudes. You guys are on a whole other level.

Both my wife and I are still working so we are blessed. Our kids are learning more about paying bills and responsibility by being home and helping out with chores. We "pay" them for each chore and the use the paper money we cut out to buy special snacks and towards their "bills". Im not in any way happy about this virus being here but at least with most of my local parks and river access closed Im not missing much fishing that I couldn't do anyways due to leaving my bag at a park.

Why i love Tactical Bassin: just watched video of Matt fluke/jerkbait fishing then in depth fluke rigging video. After which i went to another link on spring lipless video out of curiosity. Not naming names, quickly found myself watching 3 ass slapping kids hi fiving on 2lbrs, grabbing the net and weighing 3lbrs all laughing like each catch or missed net was the funniest thing ever clearly panning to the camera. Id rather play video games with my 14yr old and his buddies than watch that junk. Fast fwd to this low key video of Tim kindly wishing us all well while appreciating teachers etc.. and his time on the water. TB always classy and most informative channel on bass fishing bar none. What i appreciate most Tim you will soon unfortunately experience urself and that is time with my teenage son who used to be my hunting and fishing best buddy until high school friends became a priority. Loving the extra time with my old buddy!! Sight fishing, cant beat flyfishing for bonefish on the flats in Mexico but as it applies here, dancing a little 2.8 keitech right by the nose of a big bass and watching it turn and grab it is pretty cool. Still trying to get on Matts radar for guided trip and look fwd to meeting you both in person. Again, best shot, always entertaining and informative channel on the web. Only gripe is yall have cost me a small fortune at TW even with my Veterans discount. Lol! Way to stay classy and real. Thx for well wishes and back at you guys!

Good to see you out enjoying time on the water, Tim. It seems to me that the majority of Covid-19 cases are concentrated in cities where populations are more dense. In the rural county where I live by last count, there have been 83 cases and 1 death. I know that California's cities have been hit quite hard as have others in the country. Still, one can't be too careful. Stay safe and tight lines!

This has been the most stressed I’ve ever been over a period of time as a police officer. From having to constantly deal with the public to the suspects weaponizing this to use against us as police officers. Coming home, sitting down with a cold one and watching you guys catch fish is the relaxing part of the day. Also these videos allow me to add to my “wish list” in tackle warehouse. So, keep them videos coming guys. It’s appreciated more than you know.

As for gratitude, the best parts of quarantine have been getting to do classes (I'm in grad school) and work while snuggling with my cat or sitting on my balcony watching birds. I also haven't minded the ability to work these tasks around my body's natural rhythm - I'm getting a nice afternoon nap each day!

I enjoy every video you, Mat and your wives put out. These "Taking us along" video's you've been putting out that are an hour+ long are a great addition to channel I think. Keep those in the loop if at all possible. As far as sight fishing beds, my favorite bait is a 4" spinnerbait/buzz bait trailer. Something like a Mann's "The Classic". I'll take the old style Eagle Claw worm hook (a 1/0 or 2/0 for that size trailer) Texas rig it with no weight. The hook's I'm talking about can be hard to find these days also. But you talk about some action. Those type hooks give so much more action than the hooks out there today. I mainly fish it like a fluke. But for sight fishing beds its great too. It's slow to fall and any little movement of the line causes the"legs" to move. You reel that up to a bed and let it slowly fall right in front of a bass's face. They won't put up with. They will bite it. They can't stand it. I've actually (when I was a kid) caught the same bass multiple times in the same hour using/doing this. Thank you guys for what you do for us TacticalBassin. Tight Lines and Safe Travels to all of you.

My favorite thing about the mandatory shutdown is a few things: 1) I'm still getting paid to stay at home from my employer.....Miami University - Oxford, Ohio. 2) I was in need of some much needed time off due to burnout. 3) I have quality time with my family and yes, Tim....I hear you about becoming an instant teacher! :) I have an 11 year old that is a pro at putting off schoolwork. 4) My wife also works for Miami University and we're both (as well as 99% of the campus) getting paid to stay at home during this time of uncertainty. 5) Plenty of time to do much needed maintenance around the house and to my boat. 6) Your training videos. You guys are awesome. If you have trouble with video ideas I'd love to watch some regarding transducer placement, different knots to tie, what are your thoughts about external antennas for more precise waypoint locations and do you feel it's worth the extra money for beginner to intermediate anglers?.....what are things to consider before buying one? and just anything else you normally don't cover in your videos. Maybe if you do any of your own maintenance to your outboard, fiberglass repair, etc.
My favorite sight fish lure: I would have to say a Roboworm Texas Rigged. However, this is my first full season as a beginning angler since I was just a teenager (I'm 51 years old now) but I've pretty much watched every TacticalBassin' video on youtube all the way back to Matt's early days of 50 second videos. I have to say that the two of you are the perfect match for this channel. I'm sure it's not always easy to get along but at the end of the day, you're partnership is what makes so many anglers like myself glued to your videos.

Appreciate the uncut video. Seeing you pitch 20 times to the same spot before getting bit shows me I fish way too fast. I'll give an area one or at most two pitches then move on.

Favorite thing to throw when sight fishing: a big glide - seeing them eat a glide bait is so exciting

Tim I would like to see you wear a chest go pro setup if you have one. I would like to see the areas that you are fishing on and maybe see the fish as well. I don't have a go pro yet that will be in the near future for sure. Here in my area of Stanislaus County all the lakes and reservoirs are closed and even the controlled parks that have a river like the Corp Of Engineering. The only area that I can fish is at Fox Grove Fishing Access on Geer Road in my county which is on the Tuolumne River. Thank for the video buddy. You have a great day. Skip from Riverbank, CA.

I'm on SSI so I can fish everyday, its July now, I must say here in CO, EVERYONE went and picked up a fishing licence, the line at walmart for them for 3 straight days back when we went into lockdown, I've never seen so many bank firshermen, kayakers, boaters, boat and kayak anglers, kids swimming everywhere LMAO I guess the good i see is the amount of job security in the fishing industry! They cleared Walmart Out! I couldnt believe it! lol everything sold OUT LOL! Glad everyone could get out a bunch and fish here in CO

I still have a bunch of wedge-style dropshot weights ...just open then up with some needle-nose pliers...ready to tie on.

I know that Arizona has shut down a lot of the lakes and Parks also. The fishing should be awesome when they re-open. The fish are getting a break too!
