I was the bartender at putah creek . I never left putah creek campground area. We would set up halogens lights on the end of the docks Some days it would create a huge bait ball I would dip for the minnows . Once you have the minnows it becomes a national geographic moment. The bait ball would e a tornado in the waterEvery species would go on the attack kokanee, catfish , crappie . I would be limited out on multiple species .I tied the stringer to the back of the golf cart . Watch all these guys launch their boats at 6am and then troll all day . I never have goven up my secret till now. Very cold nights in December . When your catching fish like that your so excited from all action you stay warm . Fish on !
I was fishing Collin’s Lake at night off the boat dock. One boat next to us had a floating light and minnows and while he killed it on big crappie I was only able to get one (my biggest ever) bluegill on a night crawler.
I had a trailer at Spanish Flat Resort from the mid 80's to the early 90's. The only place I trolled was this shoreline from Skiers Cove towards Steele Park. Rainbow Runners, Sep's flashers and Pink Lady divers. Limits 90 % of the time. The trout were not as big back then. Lot of Fun.
Justin, does the GOFISH ( F L O A T ) ??? it would be just my luck / or lack of LUCK that the main line breaks and I lose $239.00 plus Washington Tax. Thanks. I know I'm NOT the only person that wants to know. Thanks
you probably dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend lately =)
80K boat, 10k in fishing equipment, 6 hundred for the guide....pretty expensive fish. I stick of dynamite is less expensive, faster and produces more fish.

I absolutely love Berryessa!
It’s a incredible fishery, one of my local favorites
I grew up close to Berryessa. You're lucky to have a lake like that to fish.

I need to get over to Berryessa! Very informative about the planer boards.
That's awesome. I work at Markley Cove that's where the Eagle lake trout are raised in the pins for California Inland Fisheries Foundation.
Those are great fish!
Which down-rigger Brand & Model do you prefer?
Maybe I've missed it but do those clear planer board slide down the line when the fish hits the lures?
Awesome video! Was that 1st rainbow one the down rigger or just flat lined behind the boat? Thanks!!

They are close to neutral buoyant but I'm afraid they will sink. We will have a $199 special at the Sacramento show next week.
