      I have really enjoyed fishing the flukes this spring thanks to TB.....and holy sh*t what a crappie LOL (actually got my PB crappie a week ago fishing a white fluke)
      I can fish fearless, throwing into anything that I would otherwise shy away from. Timber, brush or other muck...no problem. Love it.
      Have a blessed Easter and thanks for sharing the knowledge!

      I used the nose hook fluke rig to win my first bfl . It's my go to set up and go straight to neko rig with just changing the bait out. Great videos TB.

    Interesting watching how you guys fish the super fluke in the states. Here in South Africa the Zoom super fluke is by far the best selling plastic bait in the country. However we fish it much much slower than you guys. Mostly weightless and we fish it slow and a jerk only every 30 seconds or so. The bait stays in the target zone longer and we keep the line slack so we can see the bite due to the line movement. This gives us almost 100% hook up ratio as we in position to set the hook every time. We fish it very close to how you fish a senko. Sometimes even a slow constant retrieve. Interesting video.

    My old highschool fishing partner (not well educated about bass fishing but had a champion boat and I was co angler) would only fish a jig or shaky head deep and only knew one way of fishing. Had no idea how to adapt to weather or conditions, depth, water clarity or temperature. Fishing spawning in the back of the cove, let’s fish this main lake point in 60 feet of water with 3 foot waves. Cost me scholarships. All good were life long friends and I’ve taught him a lot about fishing and the TB ways.

  • @bojudd1965

    Ditch the wide gap hook on the superfluke. Wide gap hooks have their place but when fishing in shallow water they lose lots of fish. When used (wide gap hooks) for flipping in deeper cover (a more vertical presentation) the hook will turn up for a better chance of a good hookup. That hook used in shallow water, tends to be eaten with the fish looking in your direction. This doesn't allow the hook to rotate, most hookups tend to be in the corner of the mouth, or barely into the flesh somewhere inside the mouth. Many of these fish will be lost during the fight due to the hook tearing out.
    Guys like this hook because of the ease of fishing through cover it lends itself well to the Texas rig.....but has its draw backs JMO.

  • @jpangling6019
    @jpangling6019 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Matt, do you think you were missing strikes due to the Texas rig vs the nose hook? I get bit on the T rig fluke but seem to miss more fish that way than other styles of fishing.

    I have a question for you Matt Allen ... You guys talk a lot about how much you like the electric shad color for you flukes. I am up in Washington State and we do not have shad here especially in western Washington. Most of the lowland lakes are very well stocked with bass but in addition to that we also have bluegill, perch, trout, and crappie. When looking at buying fluke baits should I be looking at matching the color scheme of the bait fish that are in the lakes I am fishing? Thank you guys for all your videos! Something else I was curious about can you use the screwlock center pin and nose hook soft swimbaits like Kaitechs or does the paddle tail not really work with that sort of rigging?

    Try putting a drop shot weight on the bend of the hook. That makes the bait sink horizontally and not head first. I had a bunch of success fishing a little paddletail belly weighted fishing grass mats. The action is more natural than the bait diving nose first.
