Great tutorial, got this over Xmas and was so excited to use it until I realised Spotify was no longer an option, had to return it 🙄.
I still come back to this video regularly in the hope someone shares the news of Spotify overturning their decision 😕.

My friends are djs but have done it for decades and was always the dancer but I want to make people dance so bad and have a vision and instead of hitting play on my laptop I can actually DJ!!! I just bought this controller and the Djay Software. It is so much fun to mess around with and for the money you are hard pressed to find a more complete setup.

These current DJ software needs to learn from this! Use Spotify integration!! That’s huge! Especially for you want a song on the fly!!
It's also a LOT of fun.
But a lot of the others already have similar integrations.
Both for pro use.
But also integrations that are only licensed for home use like Spotify is in djay.
For instance Deezer integration in Virtual DJ or Tidal integration in Serato
So there is really no need to be so hung up on Spotify - for instance Deezers has more tracks available than Spotify

No, but you could map it to Algoriddim's djay if you wanted to to get Spotify, it isn't hard to do.

I got a seput with Djay Pro and ddj 400 there all a couple things you need:
- Usb camerea adapter with power (from apple)

Before Algoriddim revamped its djay app, in the old djay2 when you plugged in a pioneer WeGo controller the on-screen crossfader would be replaced with a toolbar that could hot swap effects and change the crossfader curve. Maybe something similar could be implemented here?

I’m a beginner with a Pioneer DDJ 200 an iPad and a Spotify subscription, what app and music subscription works in your opinion? I like to find EDM, house, techno, d&b, progressive, new wave, alternative, and Latin tracks. Feel that without Spotify I will need multiple subscriptions like Tidal, beatport, etc.
The only issue I have with algoriddim which lags sometimes because its using the internet it has issues every now and then latency is an issue only by like a second at times but this can really put you off,
That's strange, it's only using the internet when streaming and only when loading the song (not playing) so that shouldn't cause it to lag

Hi there, great vid. Djay2 works on Android with Spotify, but you only mention iPhone/iPad support. I also understand there will be a WeDJ update in July 2019 for Spotify integration on Android.
I only have Android devices, so would be good if you could confirm this works?

We can't confirm that I'm afraid, because we have no way of testing if djay 2 on Android works with Bluetooth Midi here. I suspect not at this time.

Try downloading WeDJ, then connecting the ddj200 through that app then going back into the Djay app. This is how I connected mine.

How would you charge the iPad? ALL DJ software needs to follow Algorridims model of iOS and PC/Mac.
If you're using an iPad, just plug in a charging cable. It's a bit harder with a phone with no headphones adaptor as the charging port is used for the headphones, so then you'd need to buy an adaptor to do that.

It's an IK multimedia iLoud speaker, pretty much any will work it hooks up with a simple 3.5mm cable :)

No, we don't think that'd work.
I don't know what you want exactly, but you can use the Traktor Audio 2 Mk2 with the iPad and a PA together with a headphone for pre-cueing and charging the iPad.

DDJ-400 may well work with Android DJ software depending on the software (check with the company that makes the app you want to use). Android is hard, as there are so many hardware variations.
For a beginner is this controller worth getting to learn the core essentials? and then working your way up to the more pro controllers? I've seen a lot of people say it good but then I've seen a lot of "pros" say its useless which has left me a bit unsure if this is worth getting for a starting point in to the DJing world.
Yes, if that's your budget, if not, go for the DDJ-400 which will take longer to outgrow.

I am getting this for my 8 yaer old son for XMas. I bought an iPad for it as well, so he can use our family spotify account. is there a good speaker you would recommend that would work cheaper than the iLoud? I see that one works, but Id like a cheaper option that will still work the same way you have shown. Thanks!
Absolutely any Bluetooth speaker from the High Street will work fine - just make sure it has a "Aux in" socket so you can plug a cable in, because you need to wire it up rather than actually using the Bluetooth. and buy a cable at the same time so you know you can plug it in properly on Christmas Day! You can get great sounding speakers from $30 upwards nowadays that'll do the job for home practice.

The physical limitations (volume adjustments for example) are usually more an Apple issue, and not algoriddim.
Hi. I have literally just got my DDJ-200. When I go into D-JAY, it doesn't gove me the options that you have and so it won't let me connect!

No it's not with the DDJ-200 unfortunately, it'll have to be WeDJ
@@digitaldjtips Yeah WeDJ doesn't work with Android either. I mean, the app works..but you can't stream anything from it yet. WeDJ have just given Android users the capability to download their app!
Luckily, I have my Laptop coming soon so I can use D-Jay from there. Rather irritating that I can't use my DDJ-200 yet.

You can do that already if you use djay pro 2 by Algoriddm. Requires laptop.

@@arababe24 nope, downloads dont load, need wifi. A phone with hotspot , is my go to when wifi isn't available, and im using a shitty we go 4, setup is a breeze, and 100% portable. Fit everything in small duffel.

It depends on your software. For instance if you use it with a laptop and Rekordbox, you get choices.
@@digitaldjtips correct I think that's the issue, if you use it with DJay which is what I use, you only get the standard filter but I found out that you can remap buttons to the software so I'm going to check that out

How did you get direct audio from DDJ 200 when recording a video?
Not sure now, we may have hit "record" on the iDevice and extracted the audio afterwards for post-production.
What is the standard set-up for modern DJ's?
Pros are still using 2 x CDJ2000 Nexus 2 media players and 1 x DJM-900 Nexus 2 mixer.

Spotify has been removed from all DJ software now, yes this will work with a laptop as well using a standard USB cable

It works with Rekordbox (on a laptop), WeDJ and Djay - they all work great so I've got a soft spot for Djay when it comes to using a phone

Hercules Inpulse 200 is way better by far, way more features, highly durable buttons, faders, great jog wheels, stereo outputs and headphones output on controller, has its own USB cord (very durable), etc, uses Algorithm DJ (and Pro version), and other softwares as well, and is only $100.
I'm conflicted! Please help. I have a new role in my professional job where I travel a lot. My job is unrelated to DJing but I used to be a professional DJ that has got back into DJing as a full time hobby. Currently I own the DDJ 1000. I was ready to purchase the DDJ 400 and pack it in my carry on so I can play/practice headphone mixes in the hotel. I'm not terribly interested in Spotify/Beatport integration although that is a nice plus. I would want to use this primarily with Rekordbox. The big questions I have are:
1) The unit is strictly a controller, no audio card so I would need to split the headphone out of my Mac laptop to my micro mixer where I create the split headphone cue > Is this possible?
2) Using the split method, will Rekordbox still be able to record a stereo mix internally to the laptop.
Do you think I would be a happy with the DDJ 200 as a travel controller or stick to the DDJ 400 if I was already willing to travel with it?

1) Since we have splitter for headphones jack and speaker, to connect to speaker with headphone jack with double barrel (which means is stereo), the sound from speaker will come out as stereo as well?
2) is still able to use in pub, or some concert stage?
It will send a mono signal to both speakers ("dual mono").
Is a djay pro subscription required to use this controller?
You need a subscription (to djay for iOS) - but it's free for 6 months.

No, you need the new app I believe.

Possibly, although we haven't tested that and there is no software we know of ready to do that for DJing at present. Good idea though.

What’s the voltage to power the device as thinking of getting this along with a jbl portable speaker that has the ability to charge your phone which I may also use to power the device.
Standard 5V USB, you could power with your phone battery charger (or the JBL USB output).
I still dont see the practical use for streaming at a dj gig.

I have to belive you are a troll, because the benefits of streaming compared to physical media, or the need for local storage has to be obvious. It wont be mainstream today or tomorrow, but its obviously the future for any consumption of media.

I've bought this and I can only say one thing: DON'T BUY THIS SHIT unless you have iphone.
Really, save more money and buy a bigger one, SB2 or SB3 is waaay better. The serato software is much better than the stupid apps they tell you to download. They have a lot of ads and it's pure bs. Unless you have WeDJ (which doesn't work for Android) you won't be able to play music from spotify, soundcloud or whatever. And also edjing software is pure garbage (ads, lag, bugs). You will end up buying a better one so buy a better one from the start.
You can buy cheaper controllers in Amazon although they are for PC. But seriously, if you have an Android and want to buy this, just don't. I got mine today and I'm returning it. Can't belive Pioneer didn't think of a nice app for Android users instead of focusing on iOS lol.
I guess Pioneer payed these DJ's for reviewing it because all of them use iphone, no one talks about Android or use another app rather than WeDJ. But hey, I'm just giving my opinion.

@@digitaldjtips The value of a dj will go down, because anyone can be a "dj". Producers went through the same thing. They went from selling beats for $1000 + to $25 or less because Big companies stepped in and made it easier for anyone to make beats. The DJs that's making decent money today, are the ones who are already established. It's not a respected profession as is use to be. People just wanna hear music. They don't care where it comes from. These companies, like Pioneer DJ , want everyone to be a DJ. So, people will continue to buy their expensive products. Basically selling DREAMS. If everyone is a dj, who would need one? It happens a lot. Anytime we make money the streets, some company finds a way to get it from us....
There's always room at the top for new talent, and professionals need never fear amateurs. That's our view - we want everyone to be DJs. Why shouldn't people who love music also enjoy mixing it?
