Hi, I use Djay on my iPhone, with Spotify, I was notified that Spotify wouldn’t work in 2020, but mine still does work (on my phone) do you think this setup would work for me, thinking it was Algorithm that stopped Spotify thus affecting this controller, and being as my Djay app still connects to Spotify I could do this??? What do you think?
SUPER HELPFUL! ...You saved me just before a gig where I will ABSOLUTELY need access to Spotify. It may be soul-crushing (at times) but some of those events pay the bills and make it possible for me to play the music I really LOVE! Boom!

Perfect setup Thank you DJKitUK - (here in the US) I have a DJJ - SB3 hooked up to my IPAD running djay pro trail ( to check out all the features) - seems to work well. Mapping to the controller is great, not all perfect but all the main controls match up perfectly on the hardware to the software. enough to get going and DJ! Getting the music into the IPAD to play (without any streaming is a bit cumbersome because of DRM's , but that's another discussion.

I've been using with DJAY on an iPad Pro USB-C for about 3 months. Problem with the 400 is that after 30-45 minutes, the audio out on the unit cuts out and you have to disconnect and reconnect it for it to work again. I don't have this issue when connected to a computer. Pioneer says they don't officially support DJAY on the DDJ-400 so they can't help with it. Others on the Algoriddim forums have had the same issue. I've tried using the DDJ-400 on an iPad Mini with the USB-3 to lighting adapter plugged into a USB power charger and I get the "DDJ-400 takes too much power" error. Ended up getting a 200 to use the iPad. I really like the form factor of these in that they slip into a backpack and can be taken anywhere for practice.
Wuppie62 tbh reloop Beatpad 2 main selling point is that you can use it specificly with Djay with no subscription plus you do not need the 50 bucks connector...
@@MagnetechSolidSolutions The new Rekordbox app is not compatible with any CDJs or mixers in performance mode. If you want to play tracks from the app on your CDJ then it can only be done over network connection where the CDJs and phone are all on the same network.
Please note that there is a known issue with the DDJ-400 and Djay reported many times on Algoriddim forum: community.algoriddim.com/t/audio-dropout-ipad-ddj-400/11979/12 I strongly recommend to read that thread before buying the DDJ-400, you'll know what you get yourself into.

Is there a way I can do this with a Galaxy Note 9, and Serato DJ Pro? Using a Serato based controller? Maybe by downloading the software on to the phone, external HD, or a micro SD memory card, and plug the controller into an OTG plug into the phone, and run the software from the phone? And have my own music already save on to the phone, instead of using a Streaming service..... I know there won't be enough power to use the controller but as long as I can run a Pro software like this what I am wondering. I've been searching for ways to DJ with my phone and seeing you do this gave me some ideas..... The equipment I would be using is a Galaxy Note 9, Serato DJ Pro, DDJ-SX or the Roland DJ 808, and the music that is already saved on my phone.

Ratzi, I bought a "Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter", but the Dj mixer lit up for an instant and then went dark. Maybe the power from the adapter was not high enough?? Which adapter did you use? You could use djay on a computer instead of the phone. However Spotify has cancelled all contract with all DJ-apps including djay. There is tidal now instead.

Yes, you will if you're using active speakers you will need power. If you're using passive speakers the speakers themselves won't need power, but the amplifier will!

I use it with an iPad Pro, connected with the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter. The USB-C charger from the socket connects to the Multiport adapter, so is powered. Pioneer have this setup in the DDJ400 setup guide pdf.

Unfortunately this won't work much longer. Spotify is planning to drop support for all 3rd party DJ apps as per July 2020.

The DDJ-400 doesn’t have Bluetooth, it has to be connected with a cable.

Yes, the 400 has a sound card in it, so you can plug your headphones in to the controller and cue from there.
