  • My 1500 mile road trip to Sturgis follows the Medicine Wheel Ride, a group of Native biker girls who ride to raise awareness for the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People. The Black Hills around Sturgis have some of the largest population of Natives in the USA, as well as some of their most sacred sites.

In my opinion, your greatest ride, video and experience yet. I live in SD and have always been interested in the Native American's culture. I have many good friends that are Natives. I call them Indians, and they don't mind. We laugh at the same things and enjoy life in the same ways. The Native tragedy is part of all of us and we should spend our lives trying to help. I asked if you had been to Wounded Knee, I go there and my soul is changed each time. That massacre is probably what sums up the white man's treatment of the Native American from that time and before in the saddest of ways.

You did yourself proud as a content creator here. As a biker and Lady. Well done.
Thank you for sharing this and all the ladies for their honesty and insight.
You would not be human if you didn't cry. I did from here in the UK. I am often ashamed of the history of England as I was born there with an English dad (I never knew) but Scottish mum and her culture was strong. My family are highlanders. That is my families culture, that is another area of English history sadly. I guess I'm in the middle and moved to Wales where I've made my home.
The continued horrors indigenous people are experiencing and disparities in policing and investigation is a crime in itself.
Thank you for sharing this. You are truly better than any motovlogger I've watched on you tube for this alone.
Take and love to you all.

    Hoka Hey Doodle, Pilomiya
    Miss Doodle,
    I've always known there was something about you that set you out from the crowd. I have told you of my Suicide tattoo but I'll share it again;
On my right wrist above my thumb it begins with a Teal colored semicolon. Teal represents PTSD Awareness and for a writer the semicolon mean there's more to come. ;IGY6 with a red 22 behind it. I Got Your 6/back, my 6 is not red as I do not know anyone that has committed suicide. Of the 75 suicides in America each day 22 are Service Members or Veterans.
Raising my children within the Native Community in and around Helena, MT we did our part to maintain skills. My children and I every spring hosted canoe safety and paddling classes for the Native Youths. Over the years I have prayed those kids continue to get out on the water in a good way.
Thank You Miss Doodle for all you do. Being a positive person is easy when you get out of self!
With Love and Respect, you are in my prayers
    Hoka Hey

~What was done - and what is still being done - to our indigenous peoples is both appalling and inexcusable. I think of how the native people were called "savages" by those invaders who came to this land, then systematically took it over. 💔We know who the REAL "savages" are - both then, and now. 🤬

Thank you for this wonderful and informative video! I've been learning so much lately about how indigenous people have been treated in recent years. On a trip to San Francisco last spring, I went to Alcatraz and learned for the first time how the government had tried to eliminate all the reservations and assimilate the native people, which would have destroyed their culture and erased their history. None of this was taught in high school or even my basic college history courses.

Years ago, I was driving across the country on I-40 west. I believe it was in New Mexico that the land was very flat with a substantial elevation change to the north creating a cliff that followed the interstate for many miles. It was late in the day and sun was reflecting off of something all along the cliff face for mile after mile. It looked like diamonds as cliff face sparkled. Finally, the cliff got close enough to the interstate, and my curiosity would not allow me to not investigate. What I found shocked me. For all the miles I traveled, the cliff face was covered by broken liquor bottles. Apparently there was a reservation to the north and generations of people had sat on top of that cliff, getting drunk and watching the world pass by.
You see, the reservation is not under the jurisdiction of regular authorities and the assistance that is provided has only resulted more problems for the people who live there.
I don’t have any answers but if we don’t acknowledge the questions and accept that what we are doing in not helping then things will continue and sad stories we heard on this video will continue to happen and be told again and again.

Doodle has a heart of gold ❤️. More eyes on this is great. So sad hearing their stories 😢. I think the American people are sadly more concerned with illegal immigration, pouring all our money & resources into those who are here illegally, while forgetting about the Natives & the injustices they went, & are still going through! Instead of spending billions on people breaking the law to come here, we should be using those billions to 1. Lower taxes for everyone. 2. Put money towards finding missing Natives. Government should be arms locked with the native communities to solve this! It's sad. We show more love to people who shouldn't be here. Then we forget about the ones who were here first & should be here. "This land is our land.. this land is your land" The only people who really OWN this land are Natives & Americans, from our founding fathers. That's it. That's all our government money, resources should go towards. Americans & Natives FIRST!!!!

Sadly these heart-breaking stories are far from unique. It's a very similar story for First Nation peoples in Australia, for example, who still suffer such abuses and as a result have terrible alcohol and drug addiction issues along with poverty and so on. Great video Doodle thanks so much for sharing. Being Aussie it’s unfortunate but I can see the similarities of Native Americans and our own indigenous people. Here in Australia there is the stolen generation where kids were also taken from their families and forced into simulation in a brutal system of abuse which admittedly most also faced in their own families. Think it’s incredibly sad that we humans could ever treat each other as badly as we do. Great video once again and thanks so much.

This video is a beautiful tribute to a vast group of forgotten (and much worse) people. Thank you so much for creating such important content.

Well done video. Righteous topic and very interesting. It made me happy to see you dunk in the stream. Those little moments are the memories that make up that little "dash" which is the line between your birth and death dates on our headstones. LIVE GIRL...every day.

:) WOW! THANKS SO MUCH for sharing this! KUDOS to all of you and the ride! I grew up in Canada, and still remember the pain and suffering there too, the Highway of Tears, where so many 1st Nation women have been lost :( I remember some friends and their stories shared :( Canada had recognised FINALLY a Day of Truth and Reconciliation, and the Orange Shirts for all the Children LOST to those schools. Yes, the disrimination is REAL and still abounds sadly. So many had to suffer from the Colonists and Governments to this day. ALL the BEST and Thank you again! :)
