I think this is one of the best lyrics used for a song, as hits hard at diehard worshippers who yearn for petty revenges. The language used is excellent. Sunil Shantha has done justice to enhance the message.
Mr. Sunil Shantha sang with lot of varitie and styles. I use to listen to this song over Redyfusion ( The Radio that use to have wire connection ) in good old days in late 60s as a kid. He is a legend. Thanks for preserving these classics
This song/poem describes the foolish petty mindedness of a villager. He is happy to offer a golden cockerel, eight silver eggs, golden bow and arrow and a silver statue to god Karthikeyan. Little does he realize he could buy a whole chicken run with that money. Perhaps he would not care for the expense as long as the villain is punished by the god. Such foolishness is still abound.
