    I just bought a 4xe for my wife who’s never wanted a truck. She loves it. We have everything with in 10 miles of us and we installed a level 2 charger at home for quicker charging and she has been able to go 1500 miles on 2 tanks of gas.

      A bmw x5 45e plug-in costs the same as this… is that interior the same level as the bmw ? Also guess what bmw is number 12 on the reliability list now, take a guess how jeep is doing… I hope you didn’t pay anything close to this price for something that isn’t worth that.

      @@LafemmebearMusic sorry I would never buy any BMW product. Anything that breaks outside of warranty is an arm and leg to fix. Jeep Wranglers are pretty simplistic. Besides other Jeep Products. The Wrangler is Jeeps focus point and rarely has problems. The JL models have been around for 5+ years and any problems have been sorted.

    • @UnderMyPalm
      @UnderMyPalm ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@scotturich plugin quazi-electric and "simplistic fix" don't belong in the same sentence. ...or universe for that matter. I expect this isn't fixing in the good old YJ TJ or even JK days.

      @jlv3x ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LafemmebearMusic while they are both plug-in hybrids, what Jeep Wrangler and BMW customers want from their vehicles are completely different. Your's is a luxury vehicle while a Wrangler is an off-road vehicle. Your BMW is more comparable to a Grand Cherokee 4×e in the Summit package, whose interior may be superior to that in your BMW.

    This is so close to being *everything* that I want in a one car garage "do-it-all" vehicle. I just need the electric only range to be more like 40-50 miles. Then I could do everyday driving in town on EV only, and still go on road trips, cruise down by the beach with the top off, or light off roading just for the heck of it.

    Check out the used 4xe prices.
    It's well worth considering a lightly used 4xe at a much lower price.

    We have the High Altitude 4XE and it’s not as noisy as the Rubicon with those massive off road tires. It does have 20 inch rims but we see 26 miles EV range in the Southeast.

    I really do like the Bronco alot. I think Ford nailed it with their retro-modern exterior and interior design. I almost bought one, but did not because of how the Ford dealerships take advantage of consumers. Way too many cases of shadiness from Ford dealers and eventually lead me to buy a Wrangler instead. I am sure a lot of other potential buyers felt the same. Shame on these Ford dealers, they ruined the Ford brand

    The 4XE is more expensive. But I took the 7500 tax rebate and paid off all my credit cards and dropped the rest into savings. And I only have to buy gas on long trips. And I can drag race a 2005 muscle car and win. And offroad, I can do anything a 392 can do. But I get it... it's not everybody's cup of tea. Or bourbon. Or Scotch. Or beer.

    • @wyatt92563

    Appreciate the balanced review. Honestly… definitely understand your preference for the bronco after seeing the steering thing and hearing how loud it is inside. I really do appreciate that Jeep at least has the 4xE option, and I do like the styling of the Jeep a little more… but clearly the Bronco is more friendly for daily driving for the majority of people.

    I own a jeep sahara 4xe 2023 and it gets 35mpg fully charged my daily commute is 18 miles it’s great on gas. If it’s not fully charged then it’s not fast it will then mainly run only the v4 engine which pulls a lot of extra battery weight. Either way great option to have at home when gas prices are high and just want to charge up instead.

      The battery pack covers the entire area under the rear seats. Guess they could delete the rear seat for the battery pack in a 2 door, but 2 door Wranglers don't sell well to begin with.

    I was looking at one of these and then my neighbor bought one. I do not see a purpose for one. Here is what I would do: for that price you’re better off buying a slightly used EV (even a $30k Tesla model 3 for commuting) and a brand new base wrangler for off-roading, which is exactly what I did (except I bought a Tacoma and a model 3). Both my vehicles came to be about $66.5k. My neighbor has to constantly plug that Jeep, like every single night. He was doing it at the beginning and now he gave up. I plug my Tesla 1-2 times per week as my daily commuter. I use my taco for light off-road.

    It’s just mind blowing that a $40k 2-door wrangler is optioned like a $25k sedan. Like it’s one thing to charge $40k for a wrangler but it should come equipped as a $40k vehicle. The Sport trim should be $25k maybe $30k for the 4dr. I can’t believe people are buying these unless they are getting steep discounts, which I heard Stellantis was still doing thru out c-v-d. But even then still a tough sell

  • @aarongerman7857

    few things that are needed to be mentioned. The 4xe does have 100 more HP and 200lBFT of torque than stock v6, however it weighs 10% more, 500lbs+ than stock. To me, what you gain you immediately give up. Also, when the battery dies, you're down to a tiny 4 banger and 260HP, but still have that 500 extra pounds of weight. Also, offroading in 4 lo with the turbo, it's so loud...this is a hard pass for me, if you mention those items.

    What about the rollover rating / tendency to flip during crash tests? The 2022 wrangler (at least - not sure about the 2023) did horrible. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, look up the wrangler and bronco crash test comparison videos on TH-cam. It’s horrifying - I would not be comfortable putting my family in a car that can so easily flip over in an accident.

    • @gs98999
      @gs98999 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Flipped over during the small overlap test only. That's a very specific crash test. The tub held up much better that the new 4Runner for example. That small overlap crash looks much more horrifying in that vehicle than the Wrangler's even with the flip on the side. But yes, you're right, if safety is top priority for family use, this isn't the car for it.

    As someone who owned a 2018 jlUR.. The fallken tires are WAY quieter over the ko2's.. The manual transmission should be avoided at all costs, the steering is terrible, ride quality is brutal as a daily driver, the road noise is mind numbing, the 3.6 is crap, the body came with corrosion from the factory, the start stop battery sucks to replace and is brutal expensive, the infotainment has a class action lawsuit.. but.. it is hugely fun, everyone smiles that sees one, and the community is like family.. It's not a lexus, but mine never rattled or squeaked.. The 4xe is cool, but it's way too expensive, buy the cheapest one and dress it how you want..
