Ultimate Infestation is literally a Kazakus potion for Druid. And you can have two of them. And you can ramp into it. AND you have no deck restrictions. It looks great. If it isn't good, it will be bc Druid got pushed out of the meta, not bc the card is bad.
Svartalfur yeah, I have been missing a good late game druid deck that isn't jade. This has a good possibility of making ramp great again (see what I did there) without a cancerous Force of Nature + Savage Roar
+Svartalfur The good thing about Kazakus was its versatility. You could get immediate returns, moderate, or heavy returns depending on what you're playing against. This 10 mana card will not be good against aggro itself.
I'd argue that a 5/5 Ghoul is better than 'a random five drop', so this card is basically Sprint + Shield Block + a good Firelands Portal result all wrapped into one card, for 7 mana less, in a class which can get it out early. Yea.
What I would find a really interesting possibility to make this card more balanced: make it 11 mana (you'd have to change innervate so you can for one turn have more than 10 mana). That way in standard you'd have to play innervate to play this card
He entirely overlooks Simulacrum being something you can cheat out early on a Sorcerer's Apprentice in hand, for the Antonidas version Quest Mage to go off more consistently.
You forget there's also the 2/6 for 4 which generates a Mirror Image, which both progresses the quest by 1 and helps stall the game. Simulacrum affords more methods by which to reach the critical combo threshhold of Sorcerer's Apprentices in the same fashion as Molten Reflection. Unlike Molten Reflection, the pre-cast nature of Simulacrum also makes the deck more resistant to Dirty Rat.
Simulacrum makes you have 4 of them quicker, meaning your opponent has less time to proc your ice block and you have less chance do draw in to fatigue before you pull it off
when casting molten while playing exodia mage it would probably cost 2 man as you would have put down 2 apprentices. while simulacrum at best would cost 2 mana after playing 1 apprentice and you still have to play the apprentice again afterwards ?
6:30 Trump - "it's gonna be pretty resource intensive to remove the 1 mana 1/1 taunt, divine shield. Always going to cost more than 1 mana to do so" Me - "Earth shock".
Saskia & Uludağ you probably haven't played before naxxramas. Handlock used to run twilight drakes so control shaman had the best matchup against it, mostly because of earth shock (and hex).
Great review! The last card "Tomb Lurker" comparison with Azure Drake seems really weird to me though. - A 5/3 statline is completely different than a 4/4. - It has no Dragon tag. - Always drawing a card *on curve* is much more powerful than getting a (4 mana or less) weak card or potentially none. - And you can't just ignore the +1 Spellpower on Azure Drake either as if it was nothing. The comparison with Lotus Agents is much better. A card - unlike drake - which doesn't see play. Comparing Lotus with Drake would be equally silly imo.
5+3 = 8, 4+4 = 8. it's different, but still the same amount of stats, which is what he was commenting on. dragon tags make no difference when you look at a card in a vacuum, and dragon decks aren't played as is. you'll never get no card from tomblurker if you're not an idiot, and he specifically talks about making sure that you play a powerful deathrattle minion first (i.e. savannah highmane) you CAN ignore it as if it's nothing because nobody used azure drake for the spell power.
3 health is sooo much worse as it dies to Waraxe, Hellfires and a lot of 2-drops. Getting that Savannah Highmane also means you can't play it on curve which is a big deal as well. Drake was always good on turn 5. As for the dragon tag; you also shouldn't evaluate cards in a vacuum, because the game isn't either. Like Dragonfire potion is a thing... At the end of the day, would you compare Lotus Agent with Drake as if they're equally strong? Because if so, I'm sorry but I don't value that opinion much then.
+yinny several of your points help prove OPs point that they shouldn't be compared. You have to wait to play a deathrattle, its not a good idea to play on curve, 4 health and 3 health is a HUGE difference. Azure Drake can be played on curve with no concern of your draws and plays earlier in the game. That's not a small thing at all. The cards are way more different than they are similar
however, when you build a deck around it like the already existing secret mage and search actively with glyph for a 6 mana version, making it more likely to have less secrets drawn already, then this seems annoying as fuck
The gain 5 armour is actually pretty big on ultimate infestation. Usually on turn 10 you can't just do any one thing because you have to focus more on lethal damage. The extra healthgain will allow you to play the card in so many situations it's abysmal.
Trump- something many people forget is that if 2 card abilities are combined together- like ancestral spirit- the combined card has a hidden +1/+1 for being 1 card instead of 2
I can actually see a not really aggro but a swarm druid deck rising. Being able to summon a lot of minions over and over again is really strong. You can also have your curve lowish so that the 5 card draw becomes the only fuel it needs. Combined with the scarab card, living mana and elements of token druid, it could be pretty strong.
I think deathrattle hunter is going to be insane. It's already a viable deck. Currently no one suspects it, so they don't kill your grandmother, so on turn 3 you play 6/5 worth of stats. I actually think you might even want to put corpse raiser into the deck. So for 8 mana you can play 2 3/3's, trigger a minion's deathrattle, duplicate it, and make duplicate itself again upon death.
I think a good comparison to Ultimate Infestation is DOOM!. They both remove enemy threats and reload your hand. But it's waaay better. You can play Ultimate Infestation and you don't lose the game.
Glacial mysteries might be crazy if that brawl with a 10 card deck returns, instead of having a 10 card deck you would have a 5 card deck. Cause this card pulled all secrets out
Might run one Ultimate Infestation in my Ramp-Quest Druid deck, or even two if it proves to be that strong, but I'm not sure what to cut for it. Drawing 5 huge 0 mana minions will be great though.
Simulacrum i like (extra doomsayer or sorceress apprentice, or even some costly legendary), glacial mysteries is trash, but as it goes, might be very useful if you get it from other cards. I can imagine taking it from the glyph in certain situations and use it as draw+play one or two cards.
The way this card reveals are going,i wouldnt be surprised if there was a rogue weapon that cant be destroyed in your opponent's turn or in general, would be cool and not imbalanced
Ben Brode confirmed that the 5/5 ghoul from ultimate infestation can't be targeted by spells. he also said they are considering bringing back old hemett because they have a new incredibly powerful beast druid deck.
I might bite my tongue here, but I seriously think that so far, this is the best expansion I've ever seen. That being the cards are playable, but most importantly, FAIR. These are very well done cards compared to the last two expansion being filled with unplayable crap plus "play and immediately win" cards.
Well so far the hunter deathknight is the best one and generates insane value in long games. Will it be able to compete with jade druid? maybe since it starts up a lot faster but we haven't seen all the cards yet and most of it will need to be tried
I see a new type of control druid, like the old op ramp Druid but with spreading plague and ultimate infestation and get this just one copy of jade idol for never going in to fatigue(maybe jade blossoms also) Screencap this it will be the new best druid
simulacrum will probably buff the hell out of exodia mage because sorceror's apprentices are gonna be the only low cost minions you'd keep in your hand so this could be used to speed up the set up
Tomb Lurker: Similar to Any-Fin, it's likely that the possibility of getting a card from your opponents deck will be a little worse than if it was only your cards since you can't control it as much. Still, the card is unlikely to be BAD and unlike anyfin, it isn't going to be part of an OTK combo you built the deck around, but rather another value card.
I imagine you can just run a control druid with lots of ramp and removal/taunt put in nourish, wraths, ultimate infestation, and maybe thalnos and throw one jade idol in.
Ultimate Infestation might be the most powerful card ever printed that also isn't overpowered. It's obviously incredible value, but I think it will only be a 1 of because the most limiting aspect of the card is actually the draw five. It's like bottom decking your lay on hands when you really just want the healing. Druids will still need mid game draw to pull their innervates and big cards so I don't think both nourishes will be cut. I'm wondering if it turns out to be Hunter Quest 2.0. as Trump has said multiple times, if you're playing a card that costs 8+ mana, it needs to win you the game or have an incredible effect. This card is a lategame powerhouse because of its combined effects, but on turn 10, dealing 5 damage might not be enough, a 5/5 might be too small, you might not need card draw, and 5 armor might not delay long enough. It might suffer from the mind control effect. Mind control is great value because it's "kill your opponents minion, then summon an exact copy" for 10 mana. Which sometimes makes it like, a 10 mana 12/12 battle cry deal 12 damage. INSANE VALUE. You're still dead / dying sometimes, but insane value.
Simulacrum - if you have only Antonidas in your hand - copy it. If you have only Alexstrasza in your hand - copy it. It's not unlikely since Mage tends to run the least amount of minions of all classes.
summon 2 apprentices, simulacrum for 1 a malygos, 2 frost bolt for free 2 fireball for 2 by turn 9 for lethal, thats not bad considering exodia mage was a thing
One of the biggest flaw of Ultimate Infestation is fatigue, but with Jade Druid, I think druid will be able to fit at least one in their deck, any thought ?
Has anyone considered that big mionons seem to get more and more stats so that the 5 damge might not be enough on turn 8 maybe you can never afford to play it
TheNathvar ummm no, cruel ultimatum is far larger effect. It does everything infestation does except for summon a 5/5, but instead deals 5 to your opponent as well as letting you choose a creature to get to your hand and gives more card advantage. (If you consider your opponent discarding a card to be roughly equal to drawing a card)
Brian on Gnomeferatu there are many instances where you purposefully give your opponent cards off of their draw cards in order to purposefully mill them because if you hit a key card in their deck they will instantly lose, and generally you're burning more than just a card to do this. In a control deck, Wild Renolock for instance, if you Brann this against another control deck and hits key cards you can just instantly win that game. In standard its crap because control Warlock in standard is crap. Heck Warlock is just crap in standard. But the effect is ridiculous. Also you never play this on turn 2. AND back when Renolock was run Dirty Rat was a common inclusion to pull key cards from the opponents hand into a board whipe. So you never play this on turn 2! But it has flexibility vs. aggro because it can be played on turn 2 (unlike dirty rat).
Maybe make Ultimate Infestation fit more the theme. 20 Costs, and the costs get reduced for each treant that got summond through you. Yes if an enemy gets an Treant from one of your effects it counts. Would make me more happier than that...
1 mana taunt and divine shield... I LOVE IT! I always put annoy-o-tron in my decks, since it always take at least one card of my opponent and probably hurts annoter one... Runeforge is the new thaurissan... summon, do it, and die right after... Shadow madness/potion of madness > Corpse Raiser > kill the enemy minion on another enemy minion... OAH THE NEW META! not really...
With simulacrum the quest mage doesnt need alextraza, discount arcane giants to 0, play 2 sorcerers, play 2 simulacrums that cost 1 because of the sorcerers, play all 4 arcane giants, play the time warp that costs 3, do 32 damage to enemy face ok the extra turn. In total the combo costs 9 mana
Ultimate Infestation is literally a Kazakus potion for Druid. And you can have two of them. And you can ramp into it. AND you have no deck restrictions. It looks great. If it isn't good, it will be bc Druid got pushed out of the meta, not bc the card is bad.
Svartalfur that or token druid is the only good druid deck
James Simbolon That's certainly possible. Hopefully slower Druid decks will at least make it to some tournament metas.
Well to be exact, its two 5 cost Kazakus potions rolled into one card.
That perfect editing low-key making fun of our senpai always gets me. Fantastic job as usual Jens
"only savannah highmane has been uhh, died"
I'd argue that a 5/5 Ghoul is better than 'a random five drop', so this card is basically Sprint + Shield Block + a good Firelands Portal result all wrapped into one card, for 7 mana less, in a class which can get it out early. Yea.
Daniel Powell IKR
What I would find a really interesting possibility to make this card more balanced: make it 11 mana (you'd have to change innervate so you can for one turn have more than 10 mana). That way in standard you'd have to play innervate to play this card
Aron Ma I like it seeing it as Shieldmaiden, Starfall, and Sprint into one card
Yeah I always get bomb squad or dopplegangster off of firelands. Especially if it's arena
Hans Peter that would make the card completely unplayable, while making innervate really busted
Turn 3 astral communion into turn 4 Ultimate infestation.
Ezequiel Ayoroa More like turn 3 astral communion turn 4 innervate
New Wild meta
Turn 5 ?
Turn 6, profit
More like turn 1 Innervate Coin Astral Communion, Turn 2 Ultimate Infestation.
More like turn 1 Magical Christmasland
13:00 I keep getting caught off guard by these Jens edits and they are always my favorite part of the video.
Oh god 13:00 killed me hahah. This effect.. Jens you're the best !
"I don't think we've seen a 5 Cost 4/6 with a strong constant effect before." *Burgly Bully cries itself to sleep*
Do you know what is better than Ultimate Infestation?
Mana Bound Ultimate Infestation
Xal Your opponent is super dumb to play it when you have a untested secret
Makes me realise that the made secret card can hard counter this
Trump's video is both hilarious and informative... with high production value
It's definitely a high value video from the mayor of value town
"Only savannah Highmane has been...uh...died so far" 👌👌👌
He entirely overlooks Simulacrum being something you can cheat out early on a Sorcerer's Apprentice in hand, for the Antonidas version Quest Mage to go off more consistently.
probably because exodia mage was hardly played in the first place. i dont see simulacrum making it better to the point that it's played more
You forget there's also the 2/6 for 4 which generates a Mirror Image, which both progresses the quest by 1 and helps stall the game.
I feel the deck is actually good and with blizzard pushing a much slower meta i think it may even become ladder viable
Simulacrum makes you have 4 of them quicker, meaning your opponent has less time to proc your ice block and you have less chance do draw in to fatigue before you pull it off
it's played in tournaments to counter super value deck
Simulacrum might be good in Exodia Mage, since you can copy your Sorcerer's Apprentices with it.
Andrew Grottle Except molten is cheaper, and easier to use.
Wait, molten=4 simulacrum=3
4
when casting molten while playing exodia mage it would probably cost 2 man as you would have put down 2 apprentices. while simulacrum at best would cost 2 mana after playing 1 apprentice and you still have to play the apprentice again afterwards ?
Anybody else noticed he called lifesteal lifelink, like the mtg variant. :)
Yeah, I think he's going back to the olden days
yeah haha, it was so seamless
Just imagine runeforge haunter, fools bane and violet illusionist
Jacob Hail two different classes so I guess during the brawl
Or from/with Blingtron.
I'm just saying that combo if pulled off would be insane
just discover the weapon with the 2 mana discover guy if you can manage to hit the 1 in 300 or whatever lol
u mean the one that only discovers Hunter and Paladin stuff besides Warrior? :D
Yogg-Saron is gonna have a blast with all these new spells to dole out.
6:30
Trump - "it's gonna be pretty resource intensive to remove the 1 mana 1/1 taunt, divine shield. Always going to cost more than 1 mana to do so"
Me - "Earth shock".
earth shocking this would be a pretty unefficient use of the card lmao
I think I've never seen a twilight drake getting earth shocked
Saskia & Uludağ you probably haven't played before naxxramas. Handlock used to run twilight drakes so control shaman had the best matchup against it, mostly because of earth shock (and hex).
Control taunt Druid looking amazing. Definitely the deck I'm crafting, it even counters aggro!
Great review! The last card "Tomb Lurker" comparison with Azure Drake seems really weird to me though.

Lotus agent is better than tomb lurker.
Discover in general is a little better than draw a card. Tomb lurkers ability is quite a bit worse than draw a card.
Simulacrum is a card for quest mage. It serves as an extra copy of giants or sorcerer's apprentice.
I can't wait for a Milhouse manastorm -> ultimate infestation
T H E M A D M A N ! ! !
I only remember to click like when I'm hit with one of those dope jens edits (13:00 lol)
glacial M is a major nerf to kappa tomb, by 8mana, you simply have no secret left in the deck....
however, when you build a deck around it like the already existing secret mage and search actively with glyph for a 6 mana version, making it more likely to have less secrets drawn already, then this seems annoying as fuck
"I don't think we've seen a five mana four-six with a strong constant ability" Hallazeal cries in the corner...
T H E 1 S T A R M A N
With so many ressurect cards I'm really feeling an Obsidian Statue Priest. The end-game fatigue potential is crazy if you survive early-game! :0
Ultimate Infestation will go straight to wild!
Also... Praise Yogg!
The gain 5 armour is actually pretty big on ultimate infestation. Usually on turn 10 you can't just do any one thing because you have to focus more on lethal damage. The extra healthgain will allow you to play the card in so many situations it's abysmal.
Trump- something many people forget is that if 2 card abilities are combined together- like ancestral spirit- the combined card has a hidden +1/+1 for being 1 card instead of 2
I'm currently playing a quest priest and man, quest priest is gonna be strong with the next expansion
This seems like a perfect fit into the Jungle Giants deck
I can actually see a not really aggro but a swarm druid deck rising. Being able to summon a lot of minions over and over again is really strong. You can also have your curve lowish so that the 5 card draw becomes the only fuel it needs. Combined with the scarab card, living mana and elements of token druid, it could be pretty strong.
I can see some nice combos using Bolvar, Righteous Protector, and Blood Knight.
_Only savanna highmane has been, uhhh, died so far._
I love this channel.
"Say Only savannah high mane has been.... uhhh.... died... so far" I has been died too at that editing LOL

Very excited for the new corpse widow. Think I might have to make a beast deathrattle deck.
Wait guys I'm confuse... Is ultimate infestation a real card?
I love the flavour of the obsidian statue
Trump! Your my favorite card reviewer!!!!!!!!!
11:09 that's what made control ancestral spirit shaman work... shaman used to be hunter as in unplayable ancestral spirit never worked
GazzerS
Druid has a Quest?!
Blood knight will be the ultimate card as a tech against divine shield pally, and a good card to have in divine shield pally
Corpse Raiser combos well with Barnes or the Priest resummon cards.
Simulacrum i like (extra doomsayer or sorceress apprentice, or even some costly legendary), glacial mysteries is trash, but as it goes, might be very useful if you get it from other cards. I can imagine taking it from the glyph in certain situations and use it as draw+play one or two cards.
Simulacrum has the same card art as Pure Cold from the Naxxramas expansion!
The way this card reveals are going,i wouldnt be surprised if there was a rogue weapon that cant be destroyed in your opponent's turn or in general, would be cool and not imbalanced
cant wait for my new pure control rattle discover priest :D 30 minute games inc :D
12:30 tomb lurker has iron helm from skyrim behind him xD
I want to make a theif priest with mind vision, thoughtsteal, devour mind, the new legendary, and all the other copy cards that we have
Ben Brode confirmed that the 5/5 ghoul from ultimate infestation can't be targeted by spells.
he also said they are considering bringing back old hemett because they have a new incredibly powerful beast druid deck.
Ultimate Infestation in Jade Druid. Kreygasm.
I might bite my tongue here, but I seriously think that so far, this is the best expansion I've ever seen. That being the cards are playable, but most importantly, FAIR. These are very well done cards compared to the last two expansion being filled with unplayable crap plus "play and immediately win" cards.
Eldritch Knowledge Too bad Jade Decks will shit on any control decks that show up. Oh yeah, and hunter will still suck.
Alan Duncan we need a jade eater crab.
Well so far the hunter deathknight is the best one and generates insane value in long games. Will it be able to compete with jade druid? maybe since it starts up a lot faster but we haven't seen all the cards yet and most of it will need to be tried
Alan Duncan And The Warlock Has now a good legendary five drop to put in his Discard Warlock!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Alan Duncan There is a counter to Jade. New rare destoys any card in your opponents hand or deck if there are 3 or more copies of it.
How he said lifelink one time ;)
I see a new type of control druid, like the old op ramp Druid but with spreading plague and ultimate infestation and get this just one copy of jade idol for never going in to fatigue(maybe jade blossoms also)
Screencap this it will be the new best druid
This was exactly what I was thinking. NOICE
All I see is aggro using the 1/5s as a counter to itself and other aggro decks, while being a final last thing against control.
Jade counters old school fatigue decks, i see jade druid with ultimate infestation
Also, can you imagine the Bright-Eyed Scout value?!
Not anymore, new card kills Jade Druid. So say goodbye to your prediction.
simulacrum will probably buff the hell out of exodia mage because sorceror's apprentices are gonna be the only low cost minions you'd keep in your hand so this could be used to speed up the set up
Tomb Lurker: Similar to Any-Fin, it's likely that the possibility of getting a card from your opponents deck will be a little worse than if it was only your cards since you can't control it as much.
13:00 BEST PART EVER CREATED BY MANKIND
Should be called Ultimate Portal
Does simulacrum make otk mage better? With the apprentices?
The weasel will see play to mess with all this revive and deathrattle mechanics
Lay on hands is not even comparable to this. 8 mana draw 3, heal 8. Vs 10 mana draw 5, armor 5, deal 5 damage, summon 5/5.
So many new 5 attack cards for Druid quest ^^
"Righteous Defender" - Trump 2017
simulacrum is insane...easy in mage to just have 1 minion in hand like antonidas so that would be lowest cost or alextrasza both insane for 3 mana
Can you imagine getting counter spelled with this? Despair
Tomb Lurker might also draw you an opponents deathrattle minion that has died.
Drawing 5 in a control-style deck seems like a sure-fire way to overdraw yourself ngl
is this a joke lol? have you ever played ramp druid? you will most likely have less than 4 cards in your hand until you get 10mana.
Callum Pardoe overdrawing cards, like milling cards, is completely meaningless unless the game goes to fatigue
Ja-Ja-Ja-Ja-Jaaaaaaaaaaade
just go jade controll, you'll need the cards there, as you allready play auctioneer and nourish.
what about MILLHOUSE MANASTORM!!!!!! Imagine your opponent's face when you play this turn 2, when they coined out Millhouse XD
The more spells they add with D&D spell names the happier I get.
Simulacrum - if you have only Antonidas in your hand - copy it. If you have only Alexstrasza in your hand - copy it. It's not unlikely since Mage tends to run the least amount of minions of all classes.
For obsidian statue couldn't you inner fire so it would be a 10 mana 8/8 with taunt lifeseal and deathrattle?
summon 2 apprentices, simulacrum for 1 a malygos, 2 frost bolt for free 2 fireball for 2 by turn 9 for lethal, thats not bad considering exodia mage was a thing
tomb lurker seems nice in paladino if youre trying to just fetch tirion
"Ultimate Sadness"
3 Mana, Mage Secret:
Trigger a Counter Spell when Ultimate Infestation is played
One of the biggest flaw of Ultimate Infestation is fatigue, but with Jade Druid, I think druid will be able to fit at least one in their deck, any thought ?
Definetly a buff to astral communion dekcs. Maybe it pushes them out of meme into tier 2.
Earth Shock is about to see a lot of play. . .
Jeremy Foss no it won't
I wonder how runeforge haunter+blade furry works, will the weapon be destoryed? Nonetheless, blade furry wouldn't see any play lol.
Has anyone considered that big mionons seem to get more and more stats so that the 5 damge might not be enough on turn 8 maybe you can never afford to play it
Medivh + Glacial Mysteries. A 8 cost card for the Mage to summon something op from Atiesh
Ultimate infestation is an adorable baby Cruel Ultimatum! Gugugu gaga! Who's a cute lil Timmy card? Yes you are!
Kryptnyt It's called a Johny card, ya candlestick
Johnny cards have combo implications. This is just a big gigantic vomit of goodstuff for 10 mana.
I would say Cruel Ultimatum is more like the baby version, considering Ultimate Infestation has a much larger effect.
Maybe i misunderstood trump but i think corpse raiser deathrattle is to resummon corpse raiser not the other minion?
So many ways to resummon TF. Unlimited ashbringers bois
What if the lowest cost minon in your hand is antonidas or malygos? Seems good
No new Rogue legendary? Savjz revealed it today.
DG his card was release a few hours ago. This was made ahead of time.
Like 9 hours ago.

does bolvar have to be on the board to get the +2 buff when a minion loses divine shield?
I think I'm going to craft mage quests. Seems like it's getting funny
Will Bolvar gain +2 attack from his own shield being broken then? It doesn't say 'another' friendly minion after all.
yes, so he kinda has 3 attack.
what of you use the mage 3 cost card when you only have one minion in your hand that you want to copy?
Simulacrum is basically cheaper molten reflections for mage!
@Trump - might be a dumb question, but if you use 'Envenom Weapon' and then do 'Balde Flurry'... does the poison take affect?
TeeOBeewhy01 *effect. Also no
Runeforge haunter, violet illusionist and steal a fools bane = profit?
