Backrooms have too much lore that diminishes the core principals of the backrooms. People write backrooms like a video game adventure. Designing levels, safe zones with people making camps, food and supplies, Entities that we understand completely. Like oh it's a partygoer, those are lv5 dangerous and will turn you into one of them or bake you into a cake. Laying down all the lore on the table like that takes away the mystery. The mystery becomes one persons fantasy. That's why I'm glad nobody owns the backrooms as a copywrite. We get to experience different variations of the lore. The mystery will always be fresh when new interpretation are uploaded on youtube. It truly is a work of art.
Yeah, the almond water with its healing ability is what pissed me off the most and the monsters ruined the fun for me too. I'll just go with my headcanon that the monsters are all just the product of people's imagination because the isolation in the backrooms slowly drives them all crazy
Exactly! What made it interesting and scary was the idea that there was an infinitesimal probability of you slipping through reality and ending up there. Just an improbable glitch, you bumped into a wall, and you ended up in there, like in a game's test room. You'd be alone, and the probability of going back was just as impossible. You happened to have to worst luck in the world and now you're here, where nothing is supposed to be anymore, that's it. The mere idea of an exploration group, of factions, of "entity infestations", it just doesn't make sense with that premise.
It's actually worse because the dream pools is entirely its own thing. But the backroom fandom insist that it's a part of the backrooms. Too much of the dismay of people like me qho are totally Into things like pool core and dreampoles. to see their constantly stealing the idea.

The back of my neck hairs stood up. truely you did an excellent job, and you need more recognition than this. You're too underrated for this shit, but The only problem I would see, and hopefully criticize in the animation is the lack of water movement. I could hear the sounds of the water, but not see the movement of water. Water is not steady, it's allways in a constant state of motion, fluctuating into rifts. But otherwise than that the whole animation was amazingly done, and again you need more recognition for this.

I personally disagree about it being realistic. As soon as it cut to the animated part, the camera started moving all janky like it was in VRchat. It's not organic enough of movement.
Pov: you can only no-clip FROM reality to level 0,1,2 and if you could no-clip to level 37 you can't no-clip to danger zone you go to safe zoslne St first
Small piece of advice for the tile texture, the clay they use to stick the tiles together (I forget the name) but it's relatively non reflective, I'd run your colour nodes into your roughness node and make it black and white data then invert it so only in between the tiles has full roughness
Love the pools rooms. It's the mysteriousness that makes it creepy not the neon skeletons or any of the goofy names of things. Just a person alone scared to death stuck in this foreign yet familiar place
I really like it. Seeing a high voltage sign while wading through the water is a really uncomfortable detail. Nice to see the poolrooms from a more dark perspective than from the more common bright and inviting point of view.
