  • We both like the port hole window but now we don't like the rear window. We liked it before the port hole window but now it seems too small. So today we're going to modify it and make it bigger.... one step forward, two steps back 😝

I really like the idea of roll down windows. The reason is there flat so you can make them out of duel laminate. You can rig two auto windows from "any"( choose well ) vehicle. You wire them off one switch and supply the power properly. The jig is easy to build to make the window rollers and track but there not easy to make.

Whenever I saw the small window installed, i was disappointed. Fitting the original window would have been a lot more work, so I completely understand the choice that was made. When the small window was fitted, I immediately saw custom rear window louvers of incremental lengths, that matched the shape of the trunk, cascading down onto the back deck. Now, with the portholes and the rear window made larger, THIS looks right. I appreciate the changing of ideas, despite the time that's been put into it. If it doesn't feel right, forcing it to work will only make it worse.

Much better Chad. As I said awhile ago it's more balanced now. Even without the port hole windows it still looked out of balance. Nice change. Excellent job.

Love it! Now Round the bottom corners of the back window. We see the porthole then we see a sharp corner at the back.

You're ruining that poor Tbird. You started with a beautiful car and now it's a freak show.

Looks much better with the bigger window, as many others I wasnt a fan of the smaller window, the window could have been widened some to open it up more, but as some urchins like to keep telling people, " Its Not You Car", lol, so funny.

I like the bigger back window opening. It ties into the port holes much nicer and helps to retain the lines of a square bird. The modifications to the roof line make it yours.

Just wondering out loud for sake of exploring the restyling and design.....how the 69 style landau roof bar trim would have looked vs. the 50s portholes.....I actually like the shadow at the top of the small recessed back window......roof would be really epic if it folded down into the huge trunk skyliner style😉👍What a friggin nightmare to make work though.

Yesterday, when the back window view got revealed at the end, I saw how the handmade 1985 cutlass window back window (in place of what should have been a Mercury Turnpike Cruiser’s famous opening rear window, which this T-Birds rear window originally stylistically mimicked, with its center valley Chad re-sculpted, a opening truck rear window would suffice, but we all know this Square Bird should have a 1961 starliner’s roof line!…) The rear window was way too low up top, relative to the added port holes location, and this time Chad’s was right on it. After they eye’d it up without taking the view from behind into account, then nailed it, lucky to miss those inner supports at the port holes bottom & regardless of any and all previous little rear window adventures, Chad dove right back in, and addressed it by cutting the back window up top, which looks a whole lot better, besides the glaring issue with the Hudson’s rear window rear side cutting into the the surrounding body panels given uniform space, Chad doesn’t have such a bad eye…LoL…🙈

Chad you made the right choice to make the rear window opening bigger smart move. Just one question for you would it had been easier to put the window that you took out back in. Jolene I hope to see you in more videos soon helping Chad out and I want to say hi to you and wish you and Chad a blessed evening and night. God bless

Abraham Pineo Gesner, May 2, 1797 - April 29, 1864) was a Canadian physician and geologist who invented kerosene.
Chad you're correct, he was from Nova Scotia. Gesner invented kerosene oil and, because of his patents for distilling bituminous material, was a founder of the modern Petroleum Industry.

Dear Chad; with the utmost respect I will share a thought on your T Bird creation. In my opinion the back of the car is so long (trunk area) it makes the car look out proportion & if that's what your looking for, by all means keep it that way. But you may consider taking that long trunk and make it into the first 1958 pick up. The 1rst T bird Ranchero. just a thought, good luck.

I didn't like the back window from start. Interesting that the port hole windows actully made the back window look samller. New window opening looks great. Nice build . Great videos , thanks for bringing us along.

If you put the pinch weld on the window lip it will still look to big. Another 1/2" would look more fitting to the rest of the window. Not trying to be negative. Just my opinion. Been watching cars built since the 50s. Love your work. Now that your welding the pinch well on it looks better

That looks better, almost like it was originally designed that way. The smaller design wasn’t necessarily wrong, I just don’t think it was the right design for this car. Keep up the great work!

With 65 years of customizing experience, I was really glad to see that you changed the rear window! Too bad you could not have used the factory window and sunk it below the "catwalk".

With regards to the back window, most would say, "it's already done, so it is what it is!" Not Bad Chad though,... kudos to him for going with his heart and changing it!
