- Let's get it Running & Driving! This isn't a "Will It Run?" Video. This is a "It Will Run!" Video. They ALL "will" run Folks, Whether or not that happens is entirely up to you. So let's take this old 1959 Chevy Apache V8, Napco 4x4 that Jamie and I Rescued from a pasture in Montana and make it happen.
In the last episode I started out by putting a rare Fleetside Bed on it and a full set of correct wheels with Beauty Rings and Stock Hubcaps. That's not where most people would start on a Classic Truck Restoration, but This build is going to be a little different all the way.

Great video!! It was awesome to see Rick back doing what he does the best again!! Nice rescue!!! Thanks!!
I almost forgot say hello to the inspector general. She is the most adorable dog love it when you let her do her inspections can’t help but sit there and watch everything she does. She’s a good hard worker just like her mama and her daddy.
Annabbella Takes her work very seriously. She's a good girl.
Oh hell yes, a CTR video has dropped on a Thursday morning...Afternoon for me...Looking forward to it...
The camera pointed at the two mufflers when the old boy started is priceless Rick....We have a runner !!!
Glad that makes you Happy Lou! Have a great "Rest of your day" and thanks for the visit.
Hey Rick..
Something so satisfying about seeing an old truck coughing back to life and moving around under its own power. With all of the necessary construction projects going on around the CTR, it has to be gratifying to have the opportunity to knock one together and be able to tool around the property…Jamie seems enthusiastic, too😂
Chris
I needed this one Chris. It felt really good to fire this one up. Thank you.
I don't have time to watch this properly, but I'm going to enjoy it later. I skipped forward to skim through it, and it's good to see a "getting it started" video again.
Hope you enjoy it Christopher! It felt good to bring another one back to life. Thanks.
Love it when you get one of the old trucks running and moving again. Thank Rick!
Me too! Its my favorite thing to do. I am seriously looking forward to having my first shop in 8-years to work out of real soon. Heck, I'll have two shops to play in.
Excellent work love watching will it run videos that you do so thank you ❤️❤️
Awesome video, Rick
Thank you kindly Kenny. Always appreciate it when you drop by.
'Ole 59 Sure Will Be Sweet When Complete Rick ! Keep 'Em Coming Soon ! Prayers For All There ! ATB T God Bless
My favorite are the 55-6 GMC's because of all the chrome on the grill, but the Dual Headlight style of the 58-9 trucks has really grown on me. Thanks Terry. God Bless.
now he,s got a lot going for him rubber thing s bump stops 😎✌👍
RamJam gets better all the time. Thanks Keith.
runs good nice job. thats a nice truck. keep it up get that truck going
Thanks, will do!
Love that truck, I had a 1 ton stake side flat bed 4x4, USFS retired I rescued at auction for $150 years ago. Off road camping and kids motorcycle got to places where others couldn't and the kids still remember those good times as places. Inspector doing quality check and daddy protection is always good to see. Hi Jamie ✌️♥️😎
Very cool! Thanks Terry.
Rick that was awesome to see Ram Jam coming back to life after sitting for so long it sure is going to be a great truck when you have done to it what needs to be done. Great video keep them coming Buddy love them all
I'll keep em coming....You keep coming back. Thank you my Friend.
Hey Rick hey Jamie thank you for the video

Wonderful original truck.
I love hearing those gears whine also..
Great video, as usual. Thanks for sharing
Thank YOU for watching.
Very good Rick now you know you have a running, rolling chassis worth working on 🇺🇲👍
You got that right! Thanks Dennis.
Great seeing a piece of history come back to life! Thanks Rick for saving this one! Awesome 👍
Its my favorite thing to do and my favorite type of video to make. Thanks for watching.
AWESOME REVIVAL. !!!😊
Yes it was! Thanks Mark!
Yahoo should a runner. Burning out all that junk in and on the motor. Love that truck.❤ 😊😊
Definitely had some stuff in the mufflers. The smell was not a pleasant one. Felt nice to fire one up. Thanks Mark.
This is a unicorn non existent here in east coast and 2wd are rust buckets😊😊😊😊@@ClassicTruckRescue
Rick, I love all your videos sometimes I don’t get a chance to watch them but I go back and look at them. I love watching them from beginning to end you are probably my favorite TH-cam station you and Jamie are the best couple I have ever seen I hope that, I couldn’t find and be with a woman like you. She is awesome and you are a very intelligent and hard-working man. Keep up the good job.
We appreciate that Timathy. Thank you for taking the time to watch and for an encouraging comment.
Awsome runner
It actually runs better every time I start it. Thank you.
Reminds me a little bit of Sparky. While you were loading Sparky on that tilt deck trailer, I was expecting you to go all Evel Knievel and leapfrog Gopher. Oh what a night.
I remember that night in Minnesota....I couldn't have done it without you Brother.....We DID "Git Er Done" though. Minnesota Division Crew Chief forever.
@ClassicTruckRescue Had to eliminate many huge spiders -- maybe not as big as in the southern states, but we grow 'em large around here.
Bucket seats, a real Class act Rick.
Nothing but the best. Haha. Thanks for watching.
Nice patina. Worth 25k.
Good truck
Right on Rick front end will look sweet 👍👍 i’m here watching 5:47 PM Thursday rainy day
Right on...where Ya been Andrew?....kind of missed you.
Love it napco trucks are awesome the running gears and just indestructible beautiful truck my friend I’m jealous
Thank you William.
Inspector general called it right, it runs.
She's always right...very professional that Truck Inspector General.
Leave the patina fox the bed swap cab small block Chevy install with 4 speed. Add alt 10si and flip for 25k. Next. Year....
😊marker lights look awesome at night driving down the road
I love cab marker lights on a truck. Always have. That's why I have a collection of them.
@@ClassicTruckRescueespecially when they shine on the front hood and chrome at night 1:55
I agree.
GD MORNING TO YOU RICK
Good Morning to you as well Charles. Thanks for stopping by!
Sweet
Just before you said the air cleaner looked original I was thinking the same thing. The carb is a WCFB Carter and they were stock on the 283 and 327 through 1966. I've seen stuff in worse shape put back together, but since you have the good parts on hand, I agree swapping a big window cab is the way to go. Looking forward to seeing this one added to your fleet of running trucks.
Thanks Burt. I'm looking forward to several builds this year, but I'll put in some more work on this one while I'm putting the shops together.
*Yay another classic truck lives... and sounds great too 🙂.*
Claaaaaassic Truck Rescue! My favorite thing to do. I'm having fun with this truck. Thanks for stopping by again.
Canister chev oil filters used. Until 1967
Nice truck
Heck yeah sounds good dude awesome 👍👍😎
Thanks Andrew.
dang Rick, seems ya got a nice runner ,..nothing wrong with a lil 283 sbc...hahaha..pop a cab some doors and of course a seat on er and have a nice driver .
I'm having fun with this one Dave. Thanks.
This is why I started watching your channel, all thought I enjoyed when you guys were moving on the property. Good to see you back working on classic trucks. 😊
You will see much more work on classic Trucks from here on out. I still have a lot of work to do on the ranch, but definitely more trucks.
nice job getting it going.
Thank you David.
That is my new favorite video of yours Rick, that is a cool truck, and looked so good driving😁😁
Glad you enjoyed it Mike.
That truck is pretty good all things considered. I like it is sweet. In most vehices you can order new replacement floors why dont you order some and weld them in? A harbor frieght mig welder anyone can spot weld. I see little china girls doing it. If you can build a building and fix motors you can weld. Pop rivets work but welding will give it the strength it needs. Napco runs awesome.
Like I said in my last comment "if it turns over it'll start" good old 283
Now you need to put some "stop juice" in it and bolts in the bed.
Motor sounds good and its a chevy so it will always smoke on start up.
just like Homer did. Upper end oiling on start up.
PEACE AND LOVE FROM MINNESOTA......BARRY✌
You DID say that Barry. The clutch pedal binding on the floorboard is actually more concerning to me than the brakes right now, but I'll make sure I address both issues promptly.....after I dress it up a little more....I'm having fun with this one.
Great job
Thank you Robert.
Did anyone else see the wood part of the back of the cab floor the reason it has hinges its a feed bin lid like you would put the feed bags of oats in in the barn lol
That starter sounds like a SLIDE WHISTLE. reminds me of the opening to ZZ top's THUG,, ON ELIMINATOR ALBUM.
I have a friend that has a 59 Cameo with a full back window. GMC. that would be one hell of a 4X4. Youed never see another!
Haven't seen one yet. You're right.
Rick if you do use this truck around the ranch please use a step side bed for it and don’t ruin a piece of unobtainable beds for it I’m begging you please 🙏!!!! I know you’ll do what you want to but in this case I don’t want to see such a beautiful bed get dented around the ranch use!!! And I’m loving 🥰 you got it running fairly painlessly!!!!
It's starting to grow on me Henry. I don't think you need to worry about it picking up any dents or dings. Yes, it was pretty easy to get going....I was due for a win. Haha.
Looks pretty darn good in black, but I'd have a hard time not going back to that original aqua color!
I know what you mean Dan. I haven't seen many 55-59 Chevy or GMC Trucks with that shade. Thanks for the visit.
@@ClassicTruckRescue And were those trucks available with the chrome spears running all the way back across the doors and B-pillar corners? If so, that truck deserves those, along with chrome hub caps and a chrome grill - to go with that chrome bumper. Although the way GM sent it out the door, nearly sixty years ago, is perfectly acceptable too...
If you were to putt that legally on the road with some antique licenses plates while it need be government inspections. Here in Maryland we dont need inspections for 25 years or older ,thanks for sharing. God bless yall real good. Love me some old chevy trucks still burning gasoline.
Fortunately, Here in Oregon we don't have inspections for any vehicles built before 1974. We don't actually have "Inspections" required for any vehicles, but the ones built after 1974 have to pass emissions testing. Hopefully some politician won't get bored and decide to screw that up to justify their position. God Bless you as well my Friend.
Ya Rick that good old gear wine is definitely really nice and also back when they used to make real trucks also buddy!!! For sure!!! Here in Iowa you just don’t see any Napco 4x4 trucks because of all the road salt over the years has definitely deteriorated all of them!!! I’d definitely love to find an Napco 4x4 truck myself to restore and work on also but like I said we just don’t have any around here or very very few!!!
Howdy mr Rick I think ram jans a keeper
I think you're right Billy. Thanks!
🎶
Precipitation.
Precipit-a-a-tion.
It’s making me wait.
Yes it is....the wet is what makes it all so green in our beautiful Spring & Summer seasons though Brother.
Nice old truck!! Rick I didn't know you had this page, so glad I found you. So, I subscribed to this one too.
Thanks for the sub Rus!
You can’t keep a Task Force truck down. Pretty neat
That's true. I've fired so many of these up after they have sat for decades. They really built stuff right back in the day. Thanks Lee.
Peace Out.
Peace.
Should of put a Cameo bed on it with the fiberglass fenders?
They didn't make Cameos in 59. 58 was the last year for the Cameo. I see where you're going though. It would be unique and very cool.
If not cut off the mufflers and put a set of patriot Smitty's round glass pack mufflers i bet it would sound awesome!!!!
My friend lives in Beavercreek got a few military vehicles
That's pretty close to me.
If you're gonna patch the floors you might as well go ahead and swap the cab, that way you'll be inspired to do more fixin'.
The cab is going to have to wait until I get my shop up and running.
@@ClassicTruckRescue indeed
I'm not sure, but that being a regular cab, and not a deluxe cab....brakes might not have been an option on the regular cab Napco 4x4 for 1959....I think over the years someone has removed the "brake pedal delete plate".....Someone over the years has also added the drivers running board/ rocker panel air conditioning.....also not available from the factory.
But great drive train and running gear. A great truck for the Ranch!!!
I see you are familiar with some of the more rare options. Awesome!
Man, Rick, I love the howitzer tail lights on the '59!
But someone needs their tool privileges revoked for cutting that pretty roof for a sun roof. Whyyyyyyyyyyy would they do that?
I wish the sunroof wasn't on this truck too. To be honest though, we didn't think twice about cutting a sunroof into a car back in the 70's.
That massive amt of scratches right below the ignition switch, whoever drove this truck had huge wad of keys, that's probably what ruined the switch.
That's probably right. Most people don't realize heavy keychains ruin ignition switches, but they certainly do.
You so lucky got a complete runner but can rust
Yes. Thank you.
hello
Hello. Thanks for the visit.
I was just going to say get a stick
Well...I wish you would've said something before it came down and bonked my head. Thanks for the visit Sir.
I know nothing about paint, but the "Sherwood Green" thing is a little odd. My mom bought a new '70 Skylark that was that color and it was a much darker, metallic green. That looks almost bluish-green. Either way, it is a good looking color. edit: that motor seems pretty tight. If someone cared enough to throw in the roof glass and the new fenders, I wonder if they freshened up the motor, too?
Sometimes different manufacturers or divisions will use the same name for a color and it will be quite different in appearance.
See? I said I didn't know anything about paint:)@@ClassicTruckRescue
You might still be right though. I found some more layers of paint. This one has had a history...haha.
Good job Rick this wild Bill resurrected Classics I would like to holler at you about a set of baby moons you got with a sub frame putting nova subframe under my 56 what would you want for the rims and I need a set of badges for a 56 3100 custom and looking for the V8 badges i to have a 1958 Viking 60 wrecker
For parts or information you can email me directly at rick@classictruckrescue.com Bill.
Looking at appearance of motor, oil etc, sound of the engine running - possible that 16000 is original???
I don't know Daniel. Kind of hard to think so when I look at how crusty the truck is.
Where do you find the trucks for your scrap yard ?
I wish you would quit referring to my property as a "Scrap Yard". We don't "Scrap" vehicles out here. This is a Ranch. On this Ranch we have Chickens, Ducks, a Horse and Cows. We also build and rescue Classic Trucks here, that's why we call it "The Classic Truck Ranch". We are located in Northwest Oregon. Thanks for watching.
While your out also check the chocke??
The choke is kind of jacked-up.
Bullet's 5:51
Yup. Some people call them Bullets, some people call them Spears. Neither is incorrect, since they never had an "Official" name.
😳 what about 4×4 ? Are you going to try it? 49:44
Film@11 Sir. Hopefully I will be crossing the stream with it in the next video.
@@ClassicTruckRescue never received the @11 video? Not in Canada
"Film@11!" is just an expression I have been using for years and years. It simply means that I will film whatever is being discussed and upload it in the future.
Choke
Got it.
route is pronounced root im im the uk i am british
All good Cathy. We also say aloominum instead of al-a-min-ee-um.
As rusty as it is somebody cared for this truck...
Yes. You can tell by al, the personal touches. I like the tool shelf he built behind the seat.
so when are you going to stop talking and start working on these trucks. your not getting any younger
You literally just left me a comment saying "runs good nice job. thats a nice truck. keep it up get that truck going" after watching me do a video where I worked on an old truck and got it "Going". So I guess I'll just say you answered your own question.....before you asked it...
Like the talks and do voice overs toooo
Hurry up I ain't getting any younger!!
Dimmer. Switch
I'll check that. You may be right. I've had a bad dimmer switch cause the headlights to completely fail before. Thanks.
Yeah really CHEK the wiring on floor and see if good at connector,,for 10 bucks cheep insurance that's one on floor you stomp on to change..light switches and bulbs suspect too. Have gune. ..where is tre. Truck inspector?😊😊
@@ClassicTruckRescue yup I'd keep this one for a time do about 20eps on cab and interior. You got. Pure YT GOLD THERE? BTW USE A TOP. POST BATT CLEANER TO BRUSH CLEAN ALL SOCKETS. AND ADD A DAB OF WHITE GREASE TO PREVENT CORROSION
She inspected this truck in the first video I did of it. I then put her Truck Inspector General sticker in the back window.
