My sister gave me around fifteen watermelons last year(she grows them), and I experimented heavily with them. The best grilled I did was a marinade of carrot and tomato juice with olive oil, teriyaki sauce, turmeric, garlic, and black pepper, prepared almost exactly as here. Did not taste like meat or fish, but was delicious.
This has got to be one of the most batshit food ideas I've seen in a while :'D I was initially going to say this was probably not my kind of thing, but it's so insane, I'm going to try this as soon as possible.
3 parts soy sauce to 1 part rice vinegar is the ratio, if you scaled this to cups it would be 3 cups soy sauce to 1 cup rice vinegar, which would probably be way too much. You can scale the ratio to whatever size fits what you are making
@@ChefMajk That is very reasonable, modern gastronomy probably only uses hollandaise if anything. thank you for the reply. I'm looking forward to see what you will make next!

Did you ever try to grill a watermelon guys? 🤨
Will do now!
I'll try grilled watermelon and use it as a filling for homemade blue corn tortillas. Brother, you've inspired some creative ideas here. Thank you!
Did blow torch the hell out of one 🤣🤣 with chef . It was cool.. looked like tuna
I do it every summer at the place I work 😂 melons pineapples plums peaches all sorts
I tried with cinnamon powder

I once made a watermelon BBQ sauce that was so good over chicken. It was just a huge pain to make…
I actually thought this was watermelon-flavoured tuna😂😂😂.
We're in winter here in South Africa, but come summer, I'll be trying my hand at this one!!
This looks amazing. I plan on trying this this coming week!
I am impressed!!!
Is there anyone in comments that is actually claiming to have made this at home and enjoyed it? Pipe up.
This video has to be a joke.
I did, had it once at a cafe and enjoyed the texture
Pan fried it with balsamic. Would have made a killer salad. We should cook more fruits.
But this? This 3 hour production? No
Yes
@@bricehall1196 I don't believe you.
Not in a million years would I have thought to marinate and grill watermelon. Great video as usual chef!
Yes it is not usual but tastes great
thanks for including some veg food on the channel!
You are welcome ;)
Wow great👍 very cute food inspector🐶
Love the content and that accent 😁!
you can't be serious boss i really didn't know you can eat watermelon like that ❤️👍
You know now, and you should try it
Fun fact: melon tuna in my country is how we name melon (we have another name for canalope too) haha
Wow! I've never tried grilling watermelon! It looks really good!!
Now is time to do it ;)
Looks like the food quality inspector approved it! I was very curious about the dog! Seems like a very nice and relaxed doggo. 😃
Yeah, he has 2 sides...very cute and relaxed angel and then he sometimes transfers to the devil who destroys everything and is annoying so much 😁
after food price increased, finally this happened...
Gonna need more of the food quality inspector
For sure 😁

Awesome chef!
Thanks Leo
Chef, looks great. What is the item you put in the water and then slice before adding to the marinade?
Kombu 👍
Please next time do a lemon steak!
Can I compressed the watermelon first, by marinating it with the sauce, vacuum sealed, and then grill it?
Yes I don't see reason why not
Thanks
please make a salad with this melon steak
trying this tonight!! thx so much
Fuck it next you’ll be frying blueberries as chicken nuggets it’s not the same
Good idea, thanks I use it 😁
Top done 👍
Thanks ;)
I’ve ordered a watermelon steak in a resto here in NY! so surprised when I found out it’s watermelon, tasted like meat! 🤤
Eating a faux version of a food these people bash others for actually eating is insanely asinine!
Who's da good boi?
Chef please please make fast food and appetiser recipe 🙏🙏🙏🙏
This channel is about fine dining mate, I dont do fast food
@@ChefMajk fine dining can be made fast food wise (this is the part I'll edit later)
@@Lehtola89 can you show me some examples?
What category to should I put it? to the dessert or main course.?
Probably starter. Dessert not for sure
Namaste, best dish I tried at home
Good job
What does delicious taste like ?
He wouldn't know because he doesn't eat meat
Hi chef!
I see "3 part soy sauce, 1 part rice vinegar" but 1 part is what? a cup? thanks!
Not sure what you talking about. There is not a cup of anything. Liquid is just soy and vinegar
@@ChefMajk yes, but how much each?
In grams or ml
@@toraryugraphiperso3411 you don't need any gram. It is 3:1 ratio and you can how much you want to

Chef Majk thank you for another creative recipe! I was wondering if in the future you will do some dishes featuring some traditional mother sauces?
Not really, mother sauces are very outdated for me
@@ChefMajk That is very reasonable, modern gastronomy probably only uses hollandaise if anything. thank you for the reply. I'm looking forward to see what you will make next!
how about a beet wellington?
Already did on the channel
that looks great 😁
Chef..What was the last ingredient? Komble??
Kombu
Hello Chef.. Is there anything else (no alcohol) I can use instead of rice vinegar?
Yes any other vinegar, wine, balsamic, ...
Was that seaweed?
Can be use something else instead of kombu ... I don't know what it is chef !!
Your accent is testier than the steak 😂
😱😱😱 I thought it was meat 🥩
Wash your hands
thx for advice :D

didnt like it my bread got all soggy
Clicking off after the dog.
Bye
This made me upset 🤷♂️🤣🤣
Haha why? 😁
Tuna ?
I like my steak raw 🫣
And the pips??
Probably you dont eat them like with raw melon
Anyone tried it?
Watermelons 🍉 with no black seeds is fake watermelons 😂#GMOWatermelon
Melon TUNA WTF?
Yes
When garnish has more calories than actual food... Come on, this is clearly a joke! 😂
No one cares about calories in fine dining...wake up man :D
What the actual fuck?
That was a lot of soy sauce tho only him and his mouth know the truth but me im going with I bet that shit was salty
That's a lot of work to make something taste like meat.
Still a good option for those who do NOT eat meat.
or you can actually go and buy a fucking steak
Yes you can for sure
bro this looks gross
Sure but don't judge something you never tried ;)
Fish is so healthy for you, why would you encourage people to eat fruit instead?
It is called creativity and trying new things
Ok, it’s delicious but this intonation is killing me 🥲
Yeah, you are not alone probably but that is life...nothing is perfect 😄
