    Very responsible of you to not only warn your audience but to inform us that sometimes it is necessary to have a discussion out of game to ensure everyone is OK with the things going on in game, and that they are not affecting anyone personally. That's why I love this campaign and everyone involved.

    I just now realized that the cursing Guy was referring to at the start was the god curse and not curse words. I was wondering why he felt the need to issue a trigger warning for excessive curse words and thinking wow, you mean the players are cursing even MORE than usual???

      @@MrBrendancz You probably know this, but I'll add it for those that perhaps don't know. The guy you tagged is actually Maurice. And fully agree, Maurice deserves his own warning, especially during those Courtcase episodes :)

    I'm fine with characters having opinions that are counter to other characters and even the group, so long as everyone in the group is okay with it. Again, the most important thing is the humans around the table playing the game and not the characters and story in the game.

      It's quite refreshing at a time when it seems the entire online RPG community has adopted the "all opinions on all subjects MUST be the same as ours or else!" mindset.

    I quite like the direction here, pretty intense ending. I am not sure what next week will bring as things escalate, but so far It's interesting. I think the main thing to remember is to separate fantasy and reality. Weird stuff can happen in a game, things you would not do often times. As long as the table can separate reality vs the in game fiction, it should all be good.
    Playing for youtube can be more of an issue, but I find this comment section, at least from my 39 episodes usually checking out what other's think, to be pretty good and understanding, so am hoping we won't be bothered with it, what ever is coming next week, as I am guessing that's when it will really kick off, what ever happened.

    I noticed a poor sound quality with this episode. However the drama made up for it so still a like from me.

      We are doing our very best with the audio. There are gremlins which kick in whilst we're recording that we only become aware of AFTER the fact. If you would like to sponsor a full sound-system for us, please let me know and we can discuss. I'm glad you like the show!

      It seems he uses significantly more challenging encounters than he should be using given the number of times nearly everyone has (or did) die.

    • @colmortimer1066
      @colmortimer1066 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@bradleyhurley6755 "more challenging than he should be using" is very subjective. I would probably run an easier campaign but many show run very mild danger level campaigns. To some players those timid ones are boring as there is little challenge. It is really up to the table what difficulty the game should be, and I am sure they talk behind the scenes about, what everyone thinks about the difficulty and if things need to be adjusted.
      They seem to be having fun so far with the challenge, which is really what the concern should be.

    • @bradleyhurley6755

      @colmortimer1066 Yeah. I'm just judging it based on an average of 4 hour games, they have had about 10 game sessions. In those ten game sessions all 3 players have died. There have been at least two near tpks, and two of the four players have died multiple times. Ironically I think the wizard hasn't died. But he has come really close himself.
      As long as they are having fun all is good, but just watching there wasn't a lot they could have done different.

      I mean, it was very hard, but we did directly p**s off The Gods. They could have sent a squad of tarrasques armed with blasphemy-seeking missiles and tactical nuclear toenail clippings. So we got off lightly.

      @ I’ve been meaning to come back to this comment and mention that side of the argument. If gods were truly pissed off and said “this ain’t happening,” then you’re dead. No ifs ands etc. But thats actually still highlighting my slight issue. I think 5 would have still posed a proper challenge. I’ve been in groups where the dm doesn’t feel like their campaign was riveting enough unless there was one or two survivors, and that combat gave me that feeling.
      Here’s where I’m wrong, though. Actions have consequences, and at the top of the video we were warned about this. Guy was specifically mentioning the other curse, of course, but it all ties together. I accept how this played out. Most would chalk it up to not being too difficult because everyone survived in a fashion, but I still think in general 5v4 at high level is a challenge, where 6v4 is magnitudes more difficult and can, at times, feel particularly unfair (even when it’s the gods who are angry).
      Added to this, gods putting their thumb on the scale should prompt other gods to react in kind to the direct meddling. I’d like to see something come of that. lol

    I'm still having a hard time figuring out exactly why the events that need a warning occur in the first place. It doesn't seem required in anyway and I don't think the warning at the beginning does justice to explain why the events occur to begin with. Especially why Gemini is affected by both effects.

    • @DolFan316
      @DolFan316 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah...saying "Oh, the gods did it" isn't really a good enough explanation for THAT...

      @@DolFan316 Yeah, also the in world explanation, both effects should not have applied. I'll concede in might make more sense later, but right now I'm having a difficult time figuring out why it is even a thing to begin with.

      Yeah, I can't speak for the other boys, but personally, as a male chap who's a man, I was weirded out by the only female player's character being involuntarily knocked up. It made sense in game given the goddess Guy rolled, but to bring in a theme that some women would find too close to reality seemed unnecessary for a show that's just about fun. I was really impressed by how Guy and Grace resolved it in game - stay tuned and I think you'll see what I mean.

    • @bradleyhurley6755
      @bradleyhurley6755 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @M.J.Larkin the thing that made me the most uncomfortable is that it seemed like Grace was genuinely upset and it seemed like the game went on a little too long without clarification that she was okay.
      But also with the warning it felt like it was going to be more integral to the game/story and in actuality it felt like it was just a random thing Guy through in that had no real reason or purpose.
      From my perspective generally speaking most people consider getting pregnant a blessing so it seems odd as something a god who was just trying to kill you would do. But also in game terms was the plan for Gemini to retire and have a kid? It seems like there wasn't a plan because it seems like it was something Guy just did in the moment. It would be interesting to hear why he went that direction and what his initial plans were (if there was any and if it wasn't what ends up happening.)
      As a DM I can't see that ending well under any circumstances, unless maybe you were planning on a time jump. (Or a variation of Angel where the kid ends up kidnapped and taken to the Feywild.)
      All good ideas that I think need to be ran by the player first.

    • @HowtobeaGreatGM
      @HowtobeaGreatGM  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@bradleyhurley6755 The god was random. After that, everything has a plan. Look to the inconsistencies you speak of. There are clues there that link to other things that have been done or are being done as to why things happened.
      I will always use a random event to kickstart a new chain, but that chain will be very, very carefully intentional. I gave Grace the chance to learn the full story (as part of discussing this event) and she opted not to know and to see how it unfolds. You'll need to be just a patient I'm afraid. Or work it out...
