In this episode, I tackled some bodywork modifications by removing the footwell cover in my Fiat Doblo to make room for batteries, a potential diesel heater, and to increase storage capacity. Since it was spot welded shut, I used an angle grinder with a cutting wheel and a jigsaw to cut open the cargo floor and create more space. In some versions of the Ram ProMaster City / Opel Combo, the footwell cover is bolted into the cargo floor, making removal much easier! Also safer because no need to use a cut off disc :)
I also attempted to tint the rear window with Foliatec window tint, but as youâll see, that turned out to be a huge fail! Despite using a heat gun to smooth out the bumps and creases, I couldn't get a nice finish.
Join me as I build my dream adventure camper, transforming my 2013 Fiat Doblo Maxi into the ultimate road trip van for exploring Europe and Switzerland. Every step of this Van Build Series brings us closer to the North Cape and the northern lights! Your support and feedback are incredibly valuable, so please feel free to comment below with your thoughts or any tips you might have!
Fun fact: If you think this Fiat Doblo looks familiar, it shares its platform with the Opel Combo, Vauxhall Combo, and Ram ProMaster City!
Thanks for watching, you legend! So excited to have you follow along as my dream slowly comes true :)

Good vid like always ððâĪ
Very good job, neighbor ð
A very nice project.
But please don't wear gloves when working with rotating machines.
And with the windows, many professionals have already failed. The next try will work, maybe....
Greetings Marcel
Hey Marcel! Thanks for watching :)
That's a big debate about wearing gloves or not. SUVA recommends doing so tho ;) From what I've read it's best to wear gloves when using an angle grinder on fixed/stationary material. But when cutting "loose" stuff such as free laying pipe it's a safety hazardðĪ
Sure hope the second try turns out betterðŦ Have a great weekend :)
Window tint never goes right in real life
Haha oh yeah, absolute nightmareðŦ
