After this scene ends the movie doesn't show her interacting with other members and she only has two, three lines of dialogue towards the ending lmao. True one of the movies of all time.

@@bottlethrower1544 unfortunately. I watched it as soon as it came out. I was excited for a "New Star Wars" but I didn't even get past the opening before I cringed. And it never got better.
And that Spider lady was the best part because I could at least feel for her that they were killing her babies. It was probably because she was the only decent actor. The robot was somewhat interesting too.

She wanted to kill kids, probably already had killed some before Nemesis stepped in, no matter what happened to spider lady it doesn't justify her revenge.

So why did it take her so long to ignite her lightsabers again?
As a ginormous Star Wars fan you can see exactly where this was supposed to be a Star Wars script and were they horribly and lazily modified it. So if this was originally Star Wars and this was supposed to be the empire, then I imagine that nemesis was originally a Jedi who survived Order 66. I imagine the original pitch and script She like the other Jedi were trying to hide from the empire and this is why it takes so long to ignite her lightsabers because she doesn't want to reveal herself. Also that she might have been more of a good Jedi and followed Yoda's form zero which is you only ignite your lightsabers and use them when absolutely everything else has failed. Again, this would have made complete context sense if this was a Star Wars film, but they decided to not add that when they tried to make it. It's own thing.

One of the many scenes in this movie where you are meant to feel something for characters who you have known for less than 5 minutes, simply because Snyder would rather blitz through shit than actually try to do it the right way. He's more interested in screenwriting than he is in making a good movie. He was doing so well for the first 20-30 minutes then he was like,
"This is fucking boring. Here's my main cast doing some cool shit you dont feel connected to and now the movie's over. Oh, I forgot. Make all the dialog fucking awful. That's a fuckin wrap."
the best is when he introduces a character in one scene, then kills that character off in the next scene as if its this incredible sacrifice.

I really liked the theme of mothers fighting for their lost children. I felt this whole scene was a cut short mini story within the main plot. As if it was a clip of an episode from a series we never got to see.
Rebel Moon in general feels like that, a Tv series that was cut into half a featurefilm to fit a runtime. It seems to hav ean episodic-feel rather than a film

I'm sorry but is it just me or does the action in this scene feel absolutely lethargic
this scene was the closest this movie came to holding my interest. and 90 percent of that was cos it had lazer swords and a spider-lady. Like the whole movie is kinda lethargic. Its just really really cool looking people blandly going through the motions until the credits roll.

I enjoyed the scene but agree with you for several reasons if you'll indulge me.
First this is supposed to be our "samurai" character and the hallmark of
many swordsmen/women in movies and history was their speed. Rather than
the graceful katana she's wielding front heavy cleaver style blades which even
a dedicated actress or stuntwoman is going to have a hard time making them
look swift.
Second this is a fight with a special effects driven character which is going
to change how actors move and choreograph themselves. And third, slowing
some things down may have been deliberate to convey Nemesis' courage
fighting something bigger, faster, and deadlier than herself.
Classical kendo guys are insanely quick, had a Japanese friend take me
apart like a cheap watch in college, so they failed to convey that. Though it's
easy for me to be critical when I'm not the one sweating my butt off in a studio
to make the fans happy.

I think the outcome was kinda clear from the beginning and Zack had that in mind.
@miratunatar that's not communicated at all. First there's the fact that she's clearly drawing inspiration from the samurai part of the seven samurai. Famously action in Kurasawa films tend to be fast and decisive.
Secondly that doesn't make sense given the choices in choreography. For example when she pulls her head back just narrowly avoiding the spiders strike (all in slow mo of course.) When a character is methodically dismantling a larger clumsy opponent you usually try to avoid showing them almost overwhelmed by their enemies speed.
If that's what was intended then it was poorly communicated

That fight scene was lame, the spider girl left her enemy's arms free. I feel like if you are going for a slow choking death you probably should make sure your enemy can't lethally strike you in the interim. Like, it was a free hit.
I think in script for Disney Nemesis was meant to be former Jedi that had child with clone, she escaped with him during Clone Wars but then Order 66 happened and that clone attacked her and when she deflected blaster bolt it hit her child so she killed him but in explosion she lost her arms. When she killed him her lightsabers turned red (cuz according to Snyder "RED IS COOL").
When I read that now, I'm no wonder that Disney dropped project.
Well, according to lore, a Sith in training can turn the saber red when they turn to the dark side…if they take out the kyber.

This whole movie feels like a video game where you end up doing a bunch of side quests. In this case, she evidently needed to earn her power up in the boss fight

It's not very smart to grab a fighter with plasma swords with your hands, the only thing you do is getting him close enough to stab you in the chest.
The spider could have at least grabbed her by the arms (especially since she's a spider, she could have impaled her with her other legs). But no, it grabs her by the neck and ignores the danger of the swords.

watching the first minute of the fight and counted already two rough editing choices. The most glaring one is at 0:52-0:53. Anyone who placed it together should have payed more attention to her face expression. The transition from the shot to shot is at best rough, at worst it throws you off the scene experience. The minor one is when she cuts spiderlady's leg it just doesn't flow smoothly the way it grouped together with her scream and letting go of the baby.

The spider is a direct ripoff of The Stalk from Saga. The script was Star Wars fan fiction complete with lightsabers. Yes… visionary. Everything seems visionary when you drop to slow motion every thirty seconds.

I did not know her name and I've seen this movie. I don't even think she says a single line of meaningful dialogue. If they wanted to stand out or even try to be unique, they should have built her up as this legendary hero worth recruiting and have Harmada kill her, therefore being stronger, and then recruit the monster instead. That would have been badass, give her a tragic backstory demonstrating how all kinds of people are suffering under the rule of the empire. She could be their secret weapon, perhaps the last of her kind so it's a huge deal when she reveals herself
