I honestly love Donna so much. I love that she's just a buddy with no baggage. No romance no pining, she just wants to go out, have fun, explore the universe because it's amazing and full of wonder. The thing you mentioned about her being less annoying this time around is kind of the core character - She becomes a progressively better and better person the more she has her eyes opened by being with the Doctor. She's just *wizard* . Plus her grandpa Wilf is one of the best Doctor Who characters in general.
Wolf6120 I won't spoil anything, but the fact she becomes progressively better and better as the series goes along, makes the end of this series that much more tragic....
Eric's reaction to Rose, tho. Also, I love the gag where the Doctor and Donna are silently talking to each other through the windows and then it pans out and everyone is just watching their conversation. It's honestly one of my favorite jokes of the series.
DOCTOR: Donna? DONNA: Doctor? Doctor! DOCTOR: But what? What? What? DONNA: Oh my god! DOCTOR: But how? DONNA: It's me! DOCTOR: Yes, I can see that. DONNA: Oh, this is brilliant. DOCTOR: What the hell are you doing there? DONNA: I was looking for you. DOCTOR: What for? DONNA: I read it on the internet. Weird. Crept along. Heard them talking. Hid. You. (Then she realises that Miss Foster is staring at her and the Doctor.) FOSTER: Are we interrupting you? DOCTOR: Run!
Donna is very loud... but she is a very good companion, she is one of the few who isn't interested in impressing the Doctor, she just want to see the universe.
I was rewatching this episode a few weeks back and noticed the ATMOS sticker on the taxi that comes for Stacey... nice little easter egg/foreshadowing. Next week is Fires of Pompeii, which I always felt was a very underrated episode.
Even "Voyage of the Damned" wasn't Bernard Cribbins first run in with Doctor Who. He played companion Tom Campbell in the non-canon/ooc 1966 movie "Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D." and was under consideration to be 4th Doctor before the role went to Tom Baker.
ALSO, he had something of a very brief (comedic, I think) singing career decades ago, and one of his song was called "Right Said Fred". Which ended up the band name of a 90s singing duo who sang a quaint little song called "I'm Too Sexy"... ;-P
I love the little waddle the Adipose do, they're so harmless. It's not their fault they're born like that, and judging by what the Doctor said I assume they usually use animals or something.
I'd be very happy to donate some of my body for 4-5 adipose... They're adorable and I could do with losing the weight. XD I'm just really not a fan of dissolving completely. Not a risk I am willing to take. 😬
Donna is here! My favourite companion! The hype is real for this season! Wow! That intro was so epic! :D Eric’s reaction to seeing Rose was brilliant! Aw man, it’s a huge shame that Shane was sick. I would have loved to have seen his reaction to Rose appearing. I hope they grow to love Donna! Eric seemed to really like her in this episode which is a great sign that he’ll grow to love her. She’s much more mellowed out now. Oh you are in for a treat throughout this series! The window scene with the Doctor and Donna never stops being funny and also the mating scene! I’m surprised you guys didn’t notice the change in the intro until now, it was noticeable in Voyage Of The Damned. Wilf was also introduced in the previous episode. :D
But that episode was a week ago from him, and he seemed like a minor character that wouldn't matter again. I first saw this and last episode right next to each other, and I *still* didn't realize who he was. It wasn't until I rewatched the series that I mentally slapped myself for not noticing the first time....

Techurious You mean the woman who cheated on her husband a night before her wedding and divorced said husband because she couldn't have any more kids? A problem that wasn't a problem anyways, and she could have realized that if she had simply talked to the man who waited 2000 years for her?
Ryan Guillen that's why I really don't understand how people like Amy and Rory - they both are extremely annoying for me, even Clara's ending and Bill's 'I'm lesbian' didn't make me dislike them more than those two - especially Amy.
MJM I mean I love Amy and Rory as a whole, it's just that those writing mistakes are a serious detriment to my enjoyment of them. It's what prevents me from calling them somr of my favorite companions. If those things wete not in place, they'd be high up on the list. They're great if I ignore those two storylines though.
Finally the best companion. I love the Donna adventures, a companion who's fun to have around and isn't trying to get to the Doctor's D. Just good ole' adventures through time and space.
Catherine Tate was a relatively popular comedian in the UK around this time, and I imagine that they cashed in on her comic persona a lot more during her special to capitalize on the celebrity effect. She has far more of an actual character from here on out, and she grows into what I believe is the best companion that New Who has had.
Awh man, I remember first seeing that Rose teaser at the end of the episode and just about lost my shit. Season 4 is pretty good for the overarching story imo.
My favourite Doctor, my favourite companion...ergo, my favourite series. So been looking forward to seeing your reactions to this series, guys! Hope you enjoy Series 4!

Peter Cushing also portrayed 'Grand Moff Tarkin' in Star Wars (1977) and was known by many for his work with Hammer Films and bringing the character of Van Helsing to the big screen.
Donna is my favorite companion for so many reasons, but the most prominent imo is there is no romance---she's genuinely just there to see the universe and be the Doctor's friend, and that's exactly what he needed at this point after losing everything over and over again
@@HelluvaGabbs0920 Thats because the show writer changed when David left.
